Please help me find a mobile home holiday in France...

... I have been surfing and surfing and am completely overwhelmed by the choice available. We usually do villas in spain, and this is all completely new to me - Am hoping the power of MN can help.

We need 3 mobile homes, for three families at Whitsun next year. My ideal is:

*smallish site that's not too noisy
*good plots (away from noise and entertainment areas!) (appreciate not always a choice, but are some providers better than others)?
*modern vans (again, not always easy to get, but are some providers better than others?)
*pool
*play areas
*walking distance to shops or shop on site
*Loire, Vendee or Southern Brittany - any other recommendations welcome!

I know I am probably v fussy, and it's what everyone wants, but any recommendations or advice will be gratefully received! I am responsible for choosing for whole group, and it's making it v hard!

Thank you :)

to be honest ( and i have done laods of these holidays) you would be better off looking on holiday lettings.co or somewhere for a group of houses around a pool. Its so much cheaper and the quality of the accomodation is so much better.

i think this is one of a group

We stayed here in Southern Brittany this summer. It is the cleanest campsite i have ever been to and 500m from a lovely beach and about the same from the local Super U. Heated pool, large bouncy castle, play area.

Staff were lovely and we will definitely return. The only thing is they don't have too many mobile homes so may well be fully booked already. They have 2 and 3 bed vans and from what i saw all the pitches were good (we camped)

I agree with impossiblyglossy hiring a gite would be far easier and more economical.

eg www.ownersdirect.co.uk/france/FR8327.htm half term week is £1300 for up to 12 people with private heated pool

3 mobile homes at la grangeoire to sleep up to 12 would cost £1653 with Eurocamp for the same week.

Don't Do garangeoire. I hated. All Brits.

ImpossiblyGlossy · 29/08/2012 19:15

Also. It's a holiday. These places have English tv. DVD players. Washing machines. Not piss stained mattresses

Thank you v much ladies... food for thought. The gite idea is a good one :)

Any thoughts on regions? Do you have favourites?

I like marennes and Rochefort. Lots to do if weather crap. The high ropes at chateau (?sp?) gata something in marennes are ace. Rochefort very pretty. Also not top far to drive.

frenchfancy · 30/08/2012 10:48

I'm in the Vendee so I have to say that. Weather much better than Brittany. Half term week normally lovely, 28+

dreamingofsun · 30/08/2012 11:35

south brittany. best weather in brittany and much prettier than north vendee which is a bit soulless both in terms of beaches, countryside and towns. not too far to drive.

Hi my sister just came back from holiday in Carcassonne France on Sat, the family had a great time and said the place was great and the price was good too. She booked the house in France through www.ownersrentals.com. Weve used www.ownersrentals.com many times and highly rate them. Heres the place where they stayed www.ownersrentals.com/property/850.html
