Holiday Village Rhodes

Has anyone ever been here? The brochure makes it look amazing, Trip adviser ditto, Its very very expensive, but is for our 'familymoon'
My sister had a big white wedding, that is not what we want for our special day, we would rather have a small registry office ceremony and then go straight to the airport for a wonderful holiday.
We considered the other First Choice AI holiday villages, but this one beat them all hands down.

Hi I have just booked this too congratulations on your wedding I did it with another company so much cheaper than first choice.

wishiwasonholiday · 22/04/2012 20:37

Turkey one is fab and we're going to Egypt one this year which is meant to be great and want to go to Cyprus one next year. Woukdnt mind spain one too but dp diesnt want to go to spain . Never been to rhodes but would certainly recommend trying the holiday villages.

Ilovebagsandbruuuce · 22/04/2012 21:59

We go on 2 may for 2 weeks. I just came on to see if there were any threads about it et voila! Although I was hoping to find some mners who have been. Congratulations!

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 23/04/2012 08:27

redglow who did you book with if you don't mind spilling the beans :)
wishiwasonholiday DP will not entertain Turkey or Egypt, I really loved the look of Egypt, especially the idea of ds zip wiring down to the beach, and the thought of snorkeling with the fishes! I talked myself out of Tenerife after reading Trip Adviser, and the fact there are so many rooms put me off.
We are booking on Thursday when the holidays are released, as we need 2 free child places.
Ilovebagsandbruuuce Which rooms have you chosen? We are hoping to get Deluxe, so we can pretend to be snobby and eat in the clubhouse haha, Have you seen the group on Facebook? Very good for any questions you have, Thank you all for your good wishes, I'm sooo excited! :o

We've been to the egypt one teice and are going to the HV in Turkey at the end of May. I looked at Rhodes but we wanted to be able to spend the days on the beach as we have a 10 month old and didn't want him surrounded by concrete all day and the Rhodes HV hasn't got a great beach and I beleive it may be a little walk away as well - that was the only thing that put us off, but it was a deal breaker.

wishiwasonholiday · 23/04/2012 10:34

Hersetta the beach at turkey one is lovely and we went in may and the sea was like a bath. The village is much cheaper than the hotel shops but ds would gladly go again he cried most of the way home as he didn't want to leave, have fun!

Hersetta · 23/04/2012 10:52

Thanks for that - really looking forward to it. the one in egypt is great too - although beach not ideal for sand castle building - it is clean and water very warm as well. My 3 yr old DD loved it and is already looking forward to going to kids club.

pud1 · 23/04/2012 11:01

I am going to the portugal one on sunday. My first ever AI will report back

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 23/04/2012 11:38

Hersetta Yes we did think the same re the beach, but my 2 dc will be 13 and 6 then and my nephew 4. my dn does like the beach but my two aren't so bothered, and with the kids clubs going on for a few hours a day they probably wouldn't want to leave the village :o
pud1 Oh yes please do report back, Portugal was a close contender but Rhodes just pipped it for us, (children wise). Hope you have a fab time:)

OP posts:
pud1 · 23/04/2012 11:45

I will do. One of the reasons we chose Portugal was zoo Marina which we have been to before. My Dds love it and wanted to go back. The flight times were also very good

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 26/04/2012 16:46

OK, so we booked, What an ordeal! 3 hours in the travel agents. Was no way on earth we could book the Deluxe area online, just wasn't playing ball. to get 2 free child places we had to upgrade from deluxe to family deluxe :o
So for 7 adults (1 being a 13yr old) and 2 free child places cost £8800 for 1 week. Shock
Lets hope it lives up to what everyone says about it.

Has anyone else booked their holiday for next year yet?

Fin1858 · 28/04/2012 09:55

Hi there yep I booked mine for next year on Thursday too. We are going the 17th July and got it for £4391 for 2 adults and 2 children (1 free place) for two weeks. We looked at the deluxe area too but my hubby likes to have the choice of buffet on holidays and with our little ones only being 4 and 5 next year went for a swim up family room at the activity side. I cannot wait and am so excited even though we have our holiday this year to enjoy first at the HV in Lanzarote. What date are you going to be there next year?

Fin1858 · 28/04/2012 11:06

Also I have looked for the group on Facebook but cannot find it, can you point me in the right direction please?

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 29/04/2012 10:38

Hi Fin, We are going on the 26th June, getting married on the 25th and flying out the following morning. For Deluxe family room for 2 adults and 1 free child it was £2560 for 1 week, we wanted 10 nights but deluxe is only available in 7 or 14!, Having just seen on facebook that to 'upgrade' and pay the supplement to eat in the clubhouse is 12 euros per adult and 6 for kids per night, it might have been cheaper to book activity or relax and pay the extra haha.

the facebook group is Holiday Village Rodos, its a closed group so you just need to ask to join, there is another one too but cant remember the name of that one. You will probably see me on there asking lots of questions :o
If you need anymore help finding it Pm me and I will try to help you :)

coffee-yes am on the fb group and am asking questions too :-)

Ilovebagsandbruuuce · 29/04/2012 21:29

sorry forgot to answer your question - have booked relax side. we'll prob spend most of the time on activity though but wanted the quieter option for evenings. 3 days to go - the smiley is not big enough!

louderthanbombs · 29/04/2012 21:33

We went to the Rhodes HV the first summer it opened. It was lovely and we have been spoilt for all our other holidays Smile

It was a bit cheeper then, because we booked before it had been built, it's so expensive now that we won't be able to go back. I'm jealous, have a great time!

Fin1858 · 29/04/2012 22:58

Yay just found the fb page and joined, thanks. Looks like we'll be there a few weeks after you then x

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 30/04/2012 08:17

Louderthanbombs I am super excited, it is very expensive but I hope well worth it! and thank you :)
