a hen weekend!!!....but where???

my absolute bestest friend in all the world is getting hitched at easter, we are now in the process of arranging a hen weekend, but we are all stuck for ideas, we are toying with the idea of dublin but have hit a few obsticals with that one - a) the weekend we are going is ireland v scotland at rugby so the hotel prices are extortionate
b) apparently its now against the law to smoke in public places there, i dont smoke but all of the other girls do, it will be no fun watching loads of girls going cold turkey because they cant get a nicotine fix all weekend.
so now we are back to the drawing board, have any mumsnetters got any ideas of where we can go, pref a city break where we can run riot!
thanx ladies!!

How about Blackpool, classy bird that I am?!

London, Leeds, Amsterdam?

Doormat - great minds think alike!

Amsterdam is fun but messy!

How about Barcelona? Or Ibiza?

I'm with CountessDracula on this one - I would have said exactly the same. Ibiza may be a bit dull now though if you're hard core ravers!

Brighton is obvious and easy as well.

Personally I'd like to go quad-biking if I was ever to tie myself down (!)

Babbington House - Bath

Yes, Brighton would be good.

Edinburgh is meant to be quite good!

Where are you all based Tiredemma? S'pose that would make a difference - no use going to Brighton if u live there already!

I went to Edinbrugh just 3 weeks ago for mine! Fantastic and highly recommended.

Or

My friend came across a guy who hires out an old fire engiine! The back is all cleared out and he's got disco lights and a DJ!

Very original..... but depends on the numbers.

Oh and last year we all went to Newcastle. That is Hen Night Central!! Reminded me a bit of Ibiza though..... very cheesy.... loads of stag nights too.

I did Blackpool for mine. But that was years ago and I just wanted my last chance on the pleasurebeach without DH who hates rides.

Have also been to Whitley Bay, Manchester, Southport and Edinburgh. Edinburgh last Easter was great.

How long for, how much cost, where are you based?

Nottingham
Terrible place to live, but great for a night out. And there are nice places around to do things in the country to get over hangovers the next day

Ibiza - cheesy - pardon???!!! You must mean San Antonia right. That's not the REAL Ibiza though and should never be confused with the place I love!!!!

Edinburgh is a wonderful city, great clubs - good idea girls.

My favourite city is London. Can't fail to have a great night out in London.

Let me know where you end up and how many there are you never know we might be able to sort guest lists for you????

Hear hear Thomcat. Ibiza is only cheesy if you go to the sh*t bits!

Went to Bournemouth for mine and had an excellent time. Plenty of places to ear, drink and dance. Highly recommend Toko for 80's music, and Berlins or Jumpin Jacks for wonderful cheesy dancing. Have a lovely time.

I agree with littlerach, Bournemouth is excellent. Loads and loads of clubs and pubs and all pretty easy to find. We went out the first evening for a meal and then for the second night went to a club in full hen night regalia.

thanks for replying.......
we are all based in birmingham so we are able to travel any distance seeing as we are so central.

we've done ibiza to the death, plus there isnt much going on out there in march.

its a toss up between london, bournemouth or newcastle at the moment i think.- just want to do a bit more research to find things to keep us occupied while we are there!
we just want to get pissed and terrorise men!

prufrock - I object!!! Not such a bad place to live but nights out vary!

Sometimes lots of fun but can be awful. Depends how many hen and stag nights there are
