DD ended up in private halls as managed to miss the email deadline to apply for uni halls….🥴
She was in Strawberry Place. It was excellent, far, far more luxurious than the halls, but also more expensive. Excellent location.
Like a basic hotel room - warm, smart, clean, reasonably spacious and private bathroom. Gym downstairs, lots of social events arranged (she didn’t go to many), free breakfast to go in the lobby every day, good laundry room.
Only fly in the ointment was her hall mates (she had a room on a private corridor - 5 rooms sharing one kitchen, 3 boys, 2 girls). Three of them were absolute animals; did not clean up after themselves EVER, never took the bins out leading to maggots/flies, blocked the kitchen sink on a weekly basis. The hall managers were pretty useless to be honest; the weekly cleaner knew who it was but nothing ever seemed to be done to sort them out. They were all sent warning letters but nothing ever changed. It was honestly like nothing I’ve ever seen, how they have been brought up to live like that I will never know.
So that’s the gamble but I suppose it is in whatever accommodation you end up in.
