Argh I'm not the patient type.

Hi, I've also applied and waiting impatiently to hear about the next stage. 😁
I've applied for the East Midlands partnership.
Trying to get some preparation reading done when I can.

Congratulations!

Can I ask, did you upload any of these documents on the application form?
Report
DarlingWithoutYou · 11/05/2021 22:31

Yeah. I uploaded them all. Now they want to see me showing them the originals on Zoom.

Hi everyone and OP, anyone else heard yet?

Just an update from me. I had my eligibility check on Zoom yesterday, where you literally show all of your documentation. Very quick. And the assessment centre will be early June, on Zoom. There will be a written test, group activity, interview, and interview with a service user.

For my district (North London) there was over a thousand applicants. 500 were shortlisted, then 130 got further and were invited to the assessment centre. There's 33 jobs available in total across the 5 boroughs.

Hope this helps.

Hi, wow it sure does sound competitive! How did u find out about the number of applicants etc.

I have an assessment centre date eeek

Was your zoom with someone from capitas?

Woohoo congrats! Grin

During the eligibility zoom yesterday there was a chance to ask questions with the scheme co-ordinator. It wasn't with capitas, it was with the lead from Islington (and the team of admins).

She said the written test will be organised by capitas, and the group task and interviews will be done by them directly.

Thank you! On to the next stage! Do you work in the LA already?

I think the structure of the assessment centre varies quite a lot depending on which partnership, from what I've read anyway. Is the assessment centre 1 day for Islington?

DarlingWithoutYou · 19/05/2021 18:31

No it's spread over 2 days. And no I don't work for them, I'm unemployed currently. Do you?

I work in a LA at the moment and have put that LA as first choice. Haven't had an interview in quite some time so feeling a bit nervous!

How's everyone feeling about assessment centre? I have a written exercise the week before the assessment centre day (full day)

Good luck!!!

I feel sick about it. On another forum people were saying their experience and it was tons more than me. I have considered dropping out but then I think I have nothing to lose from trying. You?

Report
ihavedreams · 31/05/2021 07:18

Wishing you all the luck too!

I feel incredibly nervous, I think because I have not applied previously as personal circumstances haven't allowed, now the timing is good I feel like I want it even more!

What experience do you have? From what I have researched/ read about the AC it seems that whist experience is important (for the minimum entry requirements) being able to demonstrate the transferability of skills from the experience and showing potential by linking to the PCF seems to be what the assessors are looking for. Everything I read says know the PCF's like that back of your hand!

Have you got a written exercise before the AC?

We have made it to June! Feels like a lifetime ago waiting for applications to open! Has anyone got assessment/ written test this week? Mine are at the end of the month/beginning of July x

Is it just me left on this thread now?! Grin

I had my written test today and it was absolutely fine. Nothing to worry about at all. As soon as you log on it states clearly you're not to discuss the contents of the test with anyone, but all I'll say is make sure you're clear on the PCF and you'll be fine.

I have my assessment centre next week! (virtual for 4 hours)

ihavedreams · 08/06/2021 06:53

I think it might just be you and I here!

Thank you, will make sure I have the pcf to hand.

Good luck for next week! Have you had further details about what the AC will look like? I find role play really tricky, and am worried about how I might come across virtually...

@MintChocaMocha have you heard back yet?

Report
DarlingWithoutYou · 08/06/2021 09:29

No further details yet but I'll let you know if I get any. And I'll tell you everything after I've done mine!!

I REALLY feel sick when I think about it. I hate Zoom and worry I'll be overshadowed by other candidates. I tend to do ok in real life situations by making sure I get my points across but that's going to be so hard on Zoom.

I did applied social work at university. I never heard of this is it like an access qualification?

I haven't heard back yet. This is probably outing but I've applied for the South Coast and their application deadline was extended until 13th May. I emailed Capita who deal with shortlisting and recruitment and they confirmed we wouldn't hear for the next few weeks. So I'm still waiting.

Good luck for everyone who has received an email for the written assessment/AC!

Oh best of luck, Mint!!

@fantasmasgoria1 no, it's a postgraduate placement where you learn on the job for 14 months and then qualify as a social worker.

@MintChocaMocha good luck! I feel hit you right all the waiting. Hopefully the next few weeks pass quickly for you.

@DarlingWithoutYou thank you, I agree with you about the sickness feeling. I can't quite make up my mind of virtual is a better suit to me.

I honestly feel like we are all in this together! We can do it!
