There are only a very small number of BTEC students at DS's school and he was the only one not to get his results on Thursday morning. A coincidence I don't think is the fact that he was also the only one who didn't sit the 2nd two exams in Jan because he was playing in a high level sports tournament so should have sat in May. His paperwork is different to that of one of the other students in his group and doesn't state how many points were achieved, just the overall grade and given that the other students points don't add up to the total stated from the unit grades I think it is a bit of a red flag. I would not be at all surprised to find that anyone with exams they didn't sit and who haven't received their grades have been having them randomly made up since Thursday morning. There is so much more than meets the eye to all this. Pearson have a lot to answer for, although the other's in DS's group got results on Thursday morning they had been sent to UCAS/universities and they have all had to email the paperwork to uni's themselves. Looking into it last week I don't think Pearson sent any results to UCAS which begs the question why did someone not raise this as an issue the Friday before when they had A Level results. It was the first indicator that there was a problem with BTEC results.
@TerfTerfTerf I feel for your DS, it was a horrendous wait from Thursday morning to Friday afternoon when DS's results were finally emailed to the school.
There is one day to get as much press coverage and focus on BTEC's as possible before the GCSE results take centre stage.
