St Andrews or Bristol?

It’s for History- both offers are AAA.
St A is higher in the league tables but not a Russell group Uni. Bristol is much lower but will it matter in 3 years’ time- they may have swapped positions by then anyway.
DD is vacillating. She has been to both cities but not on an official open day.
Which will employers prefer assuming she gets the same class. Does the MA carry any extra weight.

She keeps asking me my opinion as she can’t decide!

I told my lot - the only thing you need to remember when going to university is wax ear plugs from boots (or I suppose they can wear special head phones these days). I am always on the side of those who need sleep. I had a poem published in a university newpaper when i was at university about getting up early every morning and going to bed early.

Geography matters. Sorry if I missed post saying where you lived.

Personally I'd go St Andrews, but I do prefer the Scottish setup and think a degree from there will be better respected than one from Bristol.

But it does depend on the child and whether it is too far from the home town.
