Rescuing orangutans is a great idea! Gonna steal that one. Or maybe she can teach them to play guitar.

After I drink all the wine...

Movingmountains · 15/08/2018 17:25

Yes thanks to everyone on here. This has been a very stressful process at times but the wisdom and humour on here as been an immense support. DS1 and DS2 off out clubbing to take DS2’s mind off IT!

SomersetS · 15/08/2018 17:35

Before this thread (& previous chains) I have never ventured onto MumsNet & I can honestly say that it has been like meeting new friends who know what you are going through & can give helpful advice. Only one other at DDs school applied for Medicine and we don't know the family so your company has been invaluable.
I wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow - now the kids did the hard work I honestly believe some of the next bit tonight will be about luck. I honestly don't know how I will react if she doesn't make the grade after all the toil this year but either way there will be tears from all of us.

Please let us all know how you get on. I for one would love to know where everyone ends up even if we don't make it.

DD tells me today that Plan B is Paramedic Science or similar anywhere that will have her (!!) - though orangutangs sounds more fun!
Fingers, toes, elbows & eyelashes crossed for everyone. See you on the other side! xx
Daren't have a drink tonight - feel I may need my wits about me in the morning.

Complete bag of nerves here - far worse than when it was me all those years ago Smile
Thank you all for being such a brilliant support network!!

And most importantly, wishing everyone's DC's the best of everything for tomorrow. The process alone has proven they are made of sterling stuff!!

specialted · 15/08/2018 17:43

Agree with you all, thank you for the support over the past few months. Good luck to everyone's DC tomorrow. Will be drinking wine tonight alone, DS on ncs, DH working and DD at the races. It's going to be a long evening....

Katisha · 15/08/2018 18:19

It feels like we're all sitting in the plane together ready to take the parachute jump!
And 0800 hours Go Go Go!
Good luck everyone!

adrinkofwater · 15/08/2018 18:29

Wishing everyone a peaceful night and good news tomorrow!

Nerves finally setting in for DD. Couldn't even follow the brownie recipe she's made loads of timesHmm !

alreadytaken · 15/08/2018 18:31

got the day wrong and thought the waiting was over. Dark chocolate is good for anxiety, perfect excuse to have some.

One of my child's friends got AAB and got in, it happens. Mine had gone armed with a list of med school phone numbers but after checking track they all went off to celebrate.

2B1Gmum · 15/08/2018 20:07

Echo everything said so far, DD gone to see Mamma Mia 2 with a school friend. Had a vague chat in the car on the way out this afternoon, she said mum do you know what day it is tomorrow! I had been avoiding it as I didn't want her to feel anxious:) She says she will not check track but go to school first, not sure of her reasoning and didn't push it -

Deep breaths and all the best to you and your fab children.

Minikew · 15/08/2018 21:34

DD very nervous now that she has seen the leaked grade boundaries! All the best to everyone for tomorrow ☘️

4sanity · 15/08/2018 21:40

Good luck to everyone. I have been a lurker these past few weeks but despite not posting have felt supported along the way just the same!

DD out watching Ant Man and the Wasp and in between working has been deleting unread any email which makes any sort of reference to tomorrow!

School opens at 7.30am so aiming to get there as well as pressing refresh a billion times on Track and hoping not to unravel!

booface · 15/08/2018 22:26

Good luck to all tomorrow. My DS is hunkered down with his friends in the living room trying to take their mind of it (rather a lot of beer cans seem to be piling up...!) Fingers crossed for all our DS and DDs who have worked so hard to get to where they are. If all goes well for us, it will be a quick turn around... Edinburgh freshers starts on 8th September I think. But we will cross that bridge tomorrow, don't want to jinx it!

watfordmummy · 16/08/2018 04:58

Can't sleep, have now got up and gone through clearing looking at courses and grades, his insurance choice is showing at BBB,he was asked for AAB so surely that means if he gets those grades they'd accept him???

Or am I delusional due to lack of sleep?

Only 3 hours to go!!!

watfordmummy · 16/08/2018 06:17

Insurance isn't medicine obviously!!!

Woodenhillmum · 16/08/2018 07:31

Naturelover3 · 16/08/2018 07:48

A year ago. My Ds had no offers due to UkCAT score. He achieved 2 As and a B in Chemistry ( further A grade had been achieved in an As subject). He really wanted to do Medicine reseat UKCAT, did much better and resat Chemistry which I am thrilled to say he got an A* in. He is now off to Liverpool Medical school. We are all so happy.
Good luck to everyone today this year has flown by.
