Sorry Norma - I am talking out of my backside

all you need is some clear alcohol like vodka and dab a bit on to your star then stick this to the fondanted cake. Do not use water because if it runs then it will mark the white fondant whereas the alcohol evaporates.

NormaSknockers · 03/07/2010 12:56

Would Martini work?

bellavita · 03/07/2010 13:04

Ummm think it needs to be vodka.....

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 13:08

Afternoon, tis me, Mouseface.

Fanny - hope you and Crispy & co. continue to have a wonderful weekend! Sounds devine!!

Alice - ooohhhh, yum, a chocolate bomb! Lucky dad!! Glad you're still feeling ok too.

Wasting - this week I will mostly be cleaning, cleaning, and yes, you've guessed it, more cleaning. I have cement dust in EVERY room so need to get rid and my cleaner couldn't make it this week so I need to enlist MrMouse to help me. Too hard to do one my own.

Vinny - your post has made me cry. Happy tears but it took me back to when MrMouse proposed to me. At the top of the mountains at Cregennan, near Dolgellau. It was magical. We could see for miles around and on our first anniversary, I bought him that exact same view from the Welsh Tourist Board!! I hope you'll all have a wonderful day. The DVD idea is beautiful too. I want to be there!!!!!! She is a very lucky girl.

Jet - sorry you're still in pain sweetie. That's pants. Pardon the pun!!

Bella - ah, the lovely Bella. In a word, nope! Especially as Bodgit & Scarper have an unaurthorised 2 week break!!! Wish I'd have known when MrMouse hired them. I HATE living like this. It's causing tension no end.

And breathe Mouse, breathe.

Hells - flowers, how nice! What a lovely way to say thanks you! Jet is a star!!

DS is in bed, had a rubbish night, DD is with her freind watching the new Alice In Wonderland, MrMouse is outside and I'm here, chatting to you gorgeous creatures!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/07/2010 13:31

Crispy is still on the beach, I have managed to palm off DD on her. I have fishy things for the BBQ, lobster, scallops, monkfish and salmon kebabs so looking forward to that.

Mousey - your builders sounds pants.

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 13:36

Fanny - I know. Can I come and stay with you for a few weeks? Not sure how much more of this I can take.

I need looking after for a while. Very wibbley at present...... and kinda like an unexploded bomb.....

OP posts:
bellavita · 03/07/2010 14:38

VinnyTheTit · 03/07/2010 15:09

VinnyTheTit · 03/07/2010 15:15

i am only eating meat and drink water today in a desperate attempt to flatten my stomach before tomorrow's party

ds1's father and his wife will be there, so if i am turning up alone, i at least want to look hot

Iggisonthesofa · 03/07/2010 15:34

Where have I been? Just logged on to see some nonsense about Vinny not thinking she will be hot
Not getting the Mumsnet joy I thought I would on my new phone, tis all too small and complicated (bit like sex).
And I have napped away DS's napping time myself (lazy cow) so have to go and get him up. Just sending waves & hugs till I can catch up properly you gorgeous people.

VinnyTheTit · 03/07/2010 15:38

hello iggi, your not lazy, me and the finnster have just woken up from a nap, naps a necessary when you are a mum, and they give you enegry

Iggisonthesofa · 03/07/2010 15:42

God I feel so wiped out after it though. Need an injection of caffeine or something!
Need to get him up for another bout of sit-on-the-toilet,do-nothing, followed by peeing-in-the-pants.
If any of you are particularly good at potting training, I'll just put him on a train to you and you can send him back when you're finished Hope you start to feel a bit better soon by the way.

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 15:48

Vinny - tell me to sod off but do you and the Ex's wife get on?

My mum - who can be horrid at times but we put it down to her hundreds of meds - HATES my dad's wife. But that's because she was shagging him/he was shagging her behind mum's back, hence the split!

So, any events that I would like them both to be there, my 21st, 30th and wedding are spoiled by my mother hissing and spitting at said wife. He didn't even come to my wedding because his new wife refused to come so that was it, the final nail in their coffins as far as my mum was concerned.

I would love for them to get on but no. And I understand why to a certain degree.

I wish my genetic father had had the balls to come to my wedding though.

My wonderful (step)dad gave me away and he told me it was the proudest moment of his life.

Anyway, do you get on?

And, I bet you'll look wonderful tomorrow. I wish I could be there even more now, to be your friend and moral support should you need it!

Sorry, long post

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 15:52

Hi all...

Just back from ma and pa's.

... My Dad cried about what I have been through over the years, and I felt connected in way we haven't for ages.

Later talking to Mum and she said he got angry the other night and took a swing at her, caught his hand on a shelf instead and cut his hand. He was a twat to her a lot of the time I was there, sarcastic obtuse. She thinks he might have early dementia or alzheimers, and some of the things she told me are worrying but . But he has always been tough to live with.

I have sort of frozen inside. I'd love a bit of normal for a while. I am afraid I am very tearful and just keeping together for the Kids.

Love you all, going into the garden for some tranquility, xx

TrillianAstra · 03/07/2010 17:10

Hello all, my plans for a productive houseworky saturday have been slightly scuppered by spending most of it in a&e - DP came off his bike and we thought he had broken his wrist - which would not be very useful for the forthcoming charity bike ride. Looks like it's mostly soft tissue damage thankfully (after two sets of x-rays and a lot of hanging around).

And Germany thrashed Argentina, woohoo!

Vinny you have to tell us all about the party tomorrow

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 17:46

Jesus Mittz!

Please, please call me if you want to rant or cry or for me to just listen

You poor woman! You have so bloody much to deal with at the moment.

Please lean on us all for support.

Love you lots and sending huge hugs your way xxxx

Hope your garden gives you some nice tweeting-bird tranquility Mitts.

Mouseface · 03/07/2010 18:35

Hey Trills - how are your fitflops?

Just been out in my lush new red ones and managed to remember the vaseline trick!

Phew, saves on the blisters!!

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 03/07/2010 18:42

Fitflops are nice, love the soft suedeyness, haven't actually had any toe rubbage yet. Going round to have dinner with some friends this evening and wihave to walk rather than cycle because of DP's arm so they'll get a nice long walk (well, about half an hour each way).

bellavita · 03/07/2010 18:42

and

Is he ok Trills? Poor thing. A lovely boy at school came off his bike on Thursday just as he was coming into the school gates, poor lad was very shook up, he had taken a knock to the head and his hands were bleeding.

Well, I now have another child sleeping tonight who makes me feel like --> he never stops! I can see I am going to be wishing the time away until tomorrow morning - will be a long night. Jack biked down to where he lives and this afternoon I get a txt to ask if said boy can sleep, I replied only if his bedroom was tidied. He then sent another txt to ask if he could come for tea - said yes thinking this was instead of sleeping... oh no... it is both . Mum brings them both back at tea time with Jack's bike in the back of her car and said what time shall I pick him up tomorrow so I said oh I will drop him off - she said that's great because she is going out and his dad is on call. She then discovered that he did not have a house key on him.. so it will be a case of ringing home tomorrow morning to check if someone is actually there.

So, this child had DH's share of fajhitas (sp), I was having a salad and not partaking. Salad has now gone back into the fridge and DH has gone to get us an indian take away. I have opened a bottle of stella wh8ich I am quite enjoying.

TrillianAstra · 03/07/2010 18:47

He's mainly embarrassed Bella - thinks faling off bikes (with no cars or anything involved) is something only kids should do. Also we were very worried for a while that he would be in a cast and so unable to do the charity bike race that he has organised for 20+ peope at work. No head bumps - he had a helmet on but it doesn't even have scratches on it so we think his head didn't hit at all.

So are you giving up your dinner for this child? That's very generous of you. I wouldn't be giving up fajitas

bellavita · 03/07/2010 18:51

DH gave up his dinner, I was already having something else... a tuna salad has now turned into chicken tikka balti, pilau rice and a chapati . DH is having a hotter dish, pilau rice and bombay potato. It is a 30 mile round trip to said take away, but it is nice.
