Gawd, I've been arguing on a Kate Middleton thread all afternoon, but I reckon she's backed the wrong horse

Blame that awkwardfamilyphotos thread- somebody linked a site called awkward boners, and I have to admit I've been fascinated

Mittz · 21/06/2010 07:56

Struggling to get on, the light connection on my Laptop seems to be dodgy and I have bought a new subscription of virus protection for the main computer and it won't accept the code.

So hello while their is light as it were.. will try to catch up when I can.. hope you are all well xx

wastingaway · 21/06/2010 08:24

Morning Mittz, hope you can get your computers sorted.

I've just done 5 mins on the Wii Fit and the Shred Dvd.

For I have put on 4lbs since the last time I weighed (59 days according to the Wii) and am now at my heaviest ever.
I am confident that some of this is new muscle, due to the walking and Shredding this last two weeks, but I consist mainly of adipose tissue and am not happy. More motivated though.

Morning

Hey Mitts

Wasting - do you feel healthier though?

It is difficult to explain the weekend without going on a full on rant that lasts pages Basically, last time we were there, curry got provided at 10pm, i was still trying to settle DD (gets a bit over excited) and ended up not eating because no one thought to ask if i wanted something (including DH!) or saved me anything. I was 16wks pg last time and starving all the time. This time they had made a dish (very strange, catering for the people from their country) again that wasn't ready til gone 10pm, so i got DH to bring me up some tea and toast (could only find 2 pieces of bread in the house) DH (who will eat anything) couldn't stomach this dish, so ended up just drinking. This meant that he didn't get up til late yesterday which left DD and i in a house with no one offering breakfast, apart from the odd suggestion of a fry up. So DD and i walked to the shop and shared a chocolate pastry on the way home (would have got something more but thought there would be a fry up)
Couldn't get out of there quick enough after lunch! (lunch was ok, but they made a huge fuss of us being there for lunch, which turned out to be cold meat and salad, buffet style)

Anyway, that is the shortened version! I did get some fab bargains on saturday at the Joules sale though. Spent £130 and literally got a binbag full of stuff. Their trousers/jeans were £10 each or 3 pairs for £20!!! I am now sorted for clothes for the next year

Good morning to everyone i have x-posted with

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/06/2010 08:54

Morning people. Been productive already. My mother is a saint and ds is in devil mode. She has done the school run before i kill him Its going to be one of those weeks, i can feel it. He has is not happy about the fact i wont be about tomo night. Far enough but the behavioural result... i need a whole packet of s and a very large chocolate bar complete with padded cell. Instead I have a pot to boil clean and school. Will compromise. Going to go no s and duvet diet again. it is what has consistantly worked so will head back to that.

Mitz hope you manage to get the computer sorted soon and yuo are ok. Erm the jam was in the burnt batch sorry.

Hope everyone is ok this morning and have the lovely window that i am looking at through the window.

I ambeing productive, I am alternately cleaning out junk boxes and packing them for moving. Its amazing how motivating it is to tidy the box so that you can shove it full of stuff again .

Oh and i am back to 12 stone so I have at least 2 stone to lose.

Alicetheinvisible · 21/06/2010 09:05

Hi DEM I think Kim and Aggie suggest cleaning burnt pans with coke, but you may want to google just to make sure!

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/06/2010 09:06

It would work as might tomato ketchup will google. Cos although the boiling to hell shifted a lot yesterday it still has a lot to move. thanks alice!

bellavita · 21/06/2010 09:06

Morning

Mittz, hope you get dodgy connection sorted.

DEM - I am not sure where your twelve stone is girl... you are a slight little thing!

Mouse - period arrived yesterday, so definitely no consumating going on . These last few months have been very hit and miss as to when it turns up or if it turns up at all.

Alice, if I have guests I tend to over feed and water them. I would just refuse to go, really I would.

Am sat in the garden soaking up the sun. 2nd load of washing is in and there is a 3rd load to do also. MrBella and I have to go to DS2's primary school tonight as they are showing the parents first what they will be showing/telling the children next week with regards to Sex Education.

Bella that sounds lovely and relaxing

Pot has come up surprisingly well for its boiling. Am going to tackle the ironing before it gets too hot. cant do in garden yet as patio is under a 2 inch layer of muck or so it seems and putting off going in garden as it means sanding will need to be done.

Alicetheinvisible · 21/06/2010 09:33

I have just trodden on a plug in bare feet

SAF - some people have issues with food that they only apply to their children not actually themselves. My sis has a friend who constantly commented on the size of my niece (she was born 10.5lbs!) and would give her own son half a jar of baby food, and say to him, "Oh, no, greedyguts, we don't want you getting fat!" he was 8-9months old

I would much rather DD ate her body weight in food but then used it all running around, than kept her on small portions.

When i was doing this community parent course we covered a bit of diet, and how many parents have absolutely no idea what a healthy diet for a child is. They think that fat is bad etc, but that how a child needs things an adult doesn't. Apparently a lot of nurseries are failing on this too.

DidEinsteinsMum · 21/06/2010 09:33

Bella you should see me when I am at healthy BMI, I have fine bone structure and dont do spare inches. Always been very very skinny, just my way naturally when not eating the crap and exercising
As for where it is atm - around my internal organs, so basically killing me slowly. And combined to daily lectures from ds about the need for a will and life insurance I have decided i need to get this sorted. So as of Monday next week I am getting serious.

Problem 1: sleep -duvet diet
problem 2: sugar -no s diet
problem 3: stress and uncertainity or wait that is what caused the problem. no plan yet.
problem 4: mess and disaster -fly lady way

so will work through these before proper dieting.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 21/06/2010 09:36

Morning all.

DEM - yes coke for burnt pans but make sure it is no diet. Tesco Value Cola is about 18p a bottle.

Alice, that is truly bizarre. I am like Bella and over feed any guests. I take after my Mum, as a teenager they nicknamed her 'Buffet the hunger slayer'.

You only had to set foot in our house for her to offer to do you a jacket potato.

Saf - I wouldn't hurry back to your friends either. I can cope when i'm hungry but it's no joke when it's the DC.

Fab fab sunny day here. Shame I am off to work in a minute.

Alicetheinvisible · 21/06/2010 09:36

Bella - i always tend to overfeed people, especially if i have invited them over. I think most people don't care too much about conversation, entertainment, how lovely your house is as long as they are well fed and plied with drink.

Mittz · 21/06/2010 09:42

tbh, i can't afford to fix either at the mo. Manchester was m y treat and the kids have trips coming up that were their summer treats (DD going away with school for a few days and DS going on Three big day trips with his school.... Main comp is already infected liberally with cookies thingies and I am typing on this with no lihgt so It might be a bit of an MN break

Take care all.... xx

Alicetheinvisible · 21/06/2010 09:44

Oh, yes, and at the party on saturday, they had this mad photographer that waited til the food was served and then asked the 'family' to come for photos. I mean, how evil would you have to be to drag a pg lady and a toddler away from their lunch?

hellsbelles · 21/06/2010 09:57

Bella - you know Lizzy and I have bets on about your house. We reckon you are ready for guests at any moment and if it was a planned stay...oh my goodness. They will be treated like royality (does that make sense).

I'm totally shocked at Alice & SAF's friends. How very very weird. Certainly wouldn't hurry back to either place if I were you. And Fanny - again that is a very odd situation. You must be totally confused by their behaviour.

Trills - wedding sounds wonderful. Did you thrill them all with your lovely dress?

BOF - have you recovered yet? Sounded very painful (and highly illegal )

Mouse - glad your day was fun. What's the situation with DS and the video. Have you managed to get that sorted yet?

Wasting - the birds situation should horrible...I would be terrified.

Bitter - DH is doing the dukan (sounds like a dance!) with me as well...it does make it a million times easier.

SAF - yes - I did notice an uplift in mood as well as energy (though today I'm grumpy becuase of AF...but not as bad as usual!)

DEM - sounds like a very kick ass plan. And of course you can do it.

I'm knackered today which is weird as I've been a ball of energy for a while now (it must be AF). We got stuck in horrible traffic yesterday and I turn into a complete stress head in that situation. Plus I've been worrying about a wart thing on DD's shoulder. I was being totally blase about it but now it's growing and growing and getting red. I have managed to convince myself it's something serious. So silly - but Drs on Weds to hopefully set my mind at rest.

DS's bruise has now getting darker and darker (it must have been really deep!) and he's shaping up for 2 black eyes as well which will be charming for the wedding pics (actually I'm realising we were bloody lucky he didn't break his nose).

I managed to slam my legs into the back of the pushchair too so I have matching HUGE bruises on my shins. I feel they will add a depth to my outfit for the wedding. As my legs are bare for it (covered in bruises - classy eh?).

Right sun is out - food shopping to be done. I'll see you lovely ladies later.
