I think Drop, that the best thing you could do, id think of your quitting smoking as a thing you could dp for your half sister. It will give you something to really focus on and you will be really pleased to meet the reat of your family as a guilt free non smoker xx
FG...hows your dd getting on?

CC-sorry about your employment situation-know how hard its been for you.
You are SO right about me staying "clean" now for my sisters memory-I think she died a nasty death and had smoked most of her life. Its smacked me in the face even more clearly now-I'm so glad that I have really stopped-I am a no-smoker and plan to saty that way until I die a nice fag-free death. God,that sounds morbid!Sorry!
Mll-really looking forward to meeting you on Thursday-need cheering up with books and company and I will get a nice red in and we can have a naughty daytime tipple!

Get back to work FG! what are you doing now, another book or what?

My mum had a nightmare last night that id started smoking again

I said so are you gonna stop then? Thinking, well if it was such a nightmare that id started again then why do the same thing yourself?

mummylonglegs · 23/08/2005 18:55

I read your thread just now, drop. I'm SO sorry ...

Cc, bad news from you too. I so know what it's like to be broke. It's what makes me miserable more than anything these days. Any new work on the horizon for you and dp?

Yes, FG, what you up to now? Yes, you're right about the author of The Pact. To be honest I picked it up in a hurry on the train to my mum's as it was half price but it was a really good read. Did you read that other book I mentioned the Toby Litt one 'Ghost Story'? i thought it was wonderful and wondered what a Real Writer might make of it!

dropinthe · 23/08/2005 19:19

FG-I didn't realise you were a real author-what kind of stuff do you write if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
charliecat · 23/08/2005 23:55

link for DIT about FG

charliecat · 23/08/2005 23:56

Oh yeah...and ...cough splutter I got a mention in the fish finger years I always wanted to write a book but that more than made up for my failure to do so

dropinthe · 24/08/2005 08:56

How exciting!I want to read all of them now!
What a special talent being able to write novels,FG!I feel honoured you are gracing this thread albeit a bit stupid for not knowing who you are! .I shall make up for it by reading ALL your books! (GUSHING EMBARRASSINGLY!)

OP posts:
mummylonglegs · 24/08/2005 10:36

I read one of FG's novels. It was fab! I keep looking for Fish finger years and can't find it. But I will.

drop, dd and I have still got a horrible fluey bug. I'm better this morning but she's lousy, hot, fed up, not eating, sayd 'mu tummy hurts' every 5 minutes. I'm hoping we're still going to make it tomorrow but will have to let you know later today, is that ok? I'm really sorry ... especially as you're so low at the moment. But anyway you know how kids are, she might be leaping around again by later today ...

Gotta job yet cc?

dropinthe · 24/08/2005 23:40

OP posts:
mummylonglegs · 24/08/2005 23:44

I can get to either London Bridge or Waterloo no problems.

mummylonglegs · 24/08/2005 23:45

I just emailed you actually to suggest my coming in the morning and eating your lunch, drinking your wine, nicking all those toys and heading home mid-afternoon so dd can nap on the way. What do you think? How long did you say the car drive is from the train to you?
