Well since I came out of hospital I have been struggling to stick to it, as I have to rest and lay on the settee and rest, which to me means chomping away at anything, even though I can not exercise for another 3 weeks, I am still going to RC and getting on the scales. I have made an effort to stick to it more this week and hoping for a lb loss at least.
How are the others getting on?
Any new members?

Hi Breeze,

I have lost a stone now on Atkins which I'm very pleased about. Feeling much better and my clothes feel great. Only another 2 stone to go...

SamboM · 15/07/2003 23:03

How's it going breeze?

breeze · 16/07/2003 09:02

Not too bad, I am managing to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day, sometimes more. Had a bit of chocolate yesterday, but will be good today

Lost 4lb, so I am now going to revert to the take-away diet as I had 4 takeaways last week for one reason and another.

breeze · 21/07/2003 19:03

Well good luck and keep posting, even if you have bad days.

I am now under 12 stone 11.13. I was really pleased.

I have just got back from my first meet but havent read all the info yet. Got weighed though....dont think I dare write it down though, well I was 6lb heavier than I thought I would be. When do they give you a target weight? I dont really know what I should be, or will that be in my book?

Boe · 22/07/2003 12:49

Sambon - do you have honky breath???

I have started slimming world but am crap at it - went out 4 times over the weekend and then drank lots of lattes yesterday - so am back to square 1 - won't be able to go this week as have meeting so will have to start being really good!!

iota · 22/07/2003 13:03

I started a combination of exercise at the gym and "healthy eating" at the beginning of June. I've lost about half a stone, and I'm really pleased as I don't stint myself at the weekend and recently had a luxury weekend away and took full advantage of the restaureant facilities!

Having said that, I'm off to the gym in 30 mins to do some more penance.

eidsvold · 22/07/2003 18:30

fio - usually you start out with a progress goal and then as you reach that you set a firm goal.. although with ww it can be a range. If there is anymore you want to know - just get my email from tech and I can help you with the little I know... I am still doing ww and getting there albeit slowly.

Your handbook will give you a healthy range for your height and you chat with your leader and decide your own target. That is what we do at our meeting. I have just set myself little targets.

Well done fio for taking that first big step - to go and get started.

Boe - don't deny yourself lattes - I love them too and just ask for skim milk..

fio2 · 22/07/2003 19:30

thanks eidsvold for those words of encouragement I feel like I havent really started it yet, it will have to be tommorrow after I have read through the handbook. Mind you I have walked alot more than usual today and have had all low fat things (apart from lager!) I do feel more motivated. The only thing is there wasnt a points counter in my pack and I am going to have to wait til next week to get that You should have seen all the stairs to get to the meeting, my mum had the kids today and I hope she can have them every week because I dont fancy walking them up all them stairs (maybe thats the whole idea though)

IDismyname · 23/07/2003 07:32

fio2
Keep at it. WW does work. Took me nearly a year to lose 2 stone, so you can tell that on a "pound-per-week" basis, I wasn't that good!
Have you tried the WW website? Not sure if you need to sign up to access it, as I know they did have a trial basis for free.
Good Luck!

Chiccadum · 24/07/2003 06:42

fio2, I swear by weightwatchers, I have been doing it since April and lost 2 1/2 stone, (I put on 9lbs after a brilliant 2week holiday where everything was cooked for me, I can't commit to going to meetings every week so do WeightWatchers online and find it fantastic, there is no working out point whatsover.

As for the target weight, aim for something realistic in the first instance, but ideally you should be aiming for a weight the YOU feel comfortable with, don't go with all the charts, some people look ill or can't reach the weight that is sometimes set and the chart also doesn't take into consideration peoples different builds.

If you want a bit more help and some FANTASTIC tried and tested recipes just get my e-mail from tech and I'd happily sent them to you.

Well done for making a start I know how hard it is, I am struggling this week after 2 weeks off

fio2 · 24/07/2003 08:18

thanks blue 2 and Chiccadium, I am on day 3 now and have managed so far to stick to it. It is quite an easy system isnt it. I am aiming for a stone first but realisitcly I need to lose about 2 1/2 - 3 stone. It has really motivated me exercise wise and I have been walking everywhere and doing sit-ups, I cant really commit to a gym or anything structured because I have 2 pre-schoolers and dh works away in the week. I have some of the recipe books Chiccadium so I will be trying some of the new recipes on dh over the weekend (that will be the real test as I know I am going to find it harder to stick to when hes at home)

Chiccadium dont beat yourself up over your holidays, everyone needs a break and Im sure it will come off again.

Rosiemum · 24/07/2003 13:48

I know I've been quiet for a while, but just to check in and let you all know that I am still dieting - I find Atkins really suits me, and I have lost a total of 2 stone and 4lb since Easter. I'm 2 dress sizes smaller, feel fantastic, am going to the gym at least 3 times a week and gradually increasing the amount of exercise I am doing while I'm there. My current weight is 13st 4lb, I want to loose another 2 stone.

I've bought a bikini for this years' summer holiday for the first time since my elder daughter was born 15 years ago!

eidsvold · 24/07/2003 21:50

Glad to hear that you are doing so well fio, rosiesmum, chiccadum -agree with you chiccadum about aiming for manageable targets. Fio take it a stone at a time - I find that easy to work towards.

So far I have lost 26lbs. I had a loss of 3 1/2 lbs this week. I have been wavering around this weight for a couple of weeks and think I have cracked it finally.

My dh eats what I cook and he loves it fio. He often looks for recipes to cook from the ww books also. SOme that we have tried are: ( from various cook books)

hungarian goulash
roast lamb and rosemary
prawn stir fry
indian spicy chicken
sticky chicken bites
choc chip biscuits
Prawn and pasta bake
carribean salsa fish
herb and lime salmon
mushroom risotto
spicy fish burgers

try the website www.weightwatchers.com.au - got recipes from there too

THat is just off the top of my head. IF you want me to check what books they are in and email them if you don't have them I am more than happy to.

fio2 · 25/07/2003 08:27

Well done eidsvold on your weight loss and thanks for the recipe hints. I have bought a couple of the recipe books so I will have alook through them when (and if!) I get chance. I am bound to lose weight over the next few weeks anyway with having dd off school and having to sort all dd & ds's little fights(every 5 mins it seems)

Good news is dh has agreed to do WW with me over weekends anyway He also said we can get a couple of bikes with child seats on the back for exercise purposes! Starting to think hes motivated by WW too

JanZ · 28/07/2003 10:54

I'm going to re-join this thread. 10st 13lb this morning - had got down to 10st 6lb, but have been confort eating the last few weeks following my miscarriage.

I'm not really motivated to diet at the moment - desparately craving cholocate - but know that if I don't get my act together, I'll get (even more) depressed. At least I hadn't gone over 11st after having allowed myslef to indulge myself!

Hopefully, the support from you lot - plus just the fact of having laid down a marker - will get me more motivated.

fio2 · 29/07/2003 12:33

Dont be so hard on yourself Jan. Im sure you will get back on track soon but its the least of your worries at the moment.

Just to let you all know I went to my first weigh in after I started ww and I have lost 4lbs in aweek

eidsvold · 29/07/2003 20:58

well done fio

Jan fio is right - don't be hard on yourself.

fio2 · 13/08/2003 09:17

Hows everyone getting on with ww at the moment? We have had a new leader who has wrote me a letter telling me I should only be drinking 14 units of alcohol a week (GGrrrrrr) I have done really well so far losing 10lbs in 3 weeks.....even though I am an alcoholic

eidsvold · 13/08/2003 20:12

wow fio - what an interesting leader?!?! The only letters I get are to remind me to weigh in when I have missed a couple of weeks ( got those form old leader - had transferred to a closer meeting) and to congratulate me on getting my 10%.

Well done you - 10lbs.

I am at 27 1/2 lbs lost so far although not been tracking so closely this week so probably put on again.

Having said that - need to start getting ready for the Flora light challenge so will be walking a lot more than I normally am - hopefully that will make a difference too.

breeze · 25/09/2003 15:17

How are we all doing

i probably the same as when I last posted

OP posts:
eidsvold · 25/09/2003 19:04

fio2 · 25/09/2003 19:24

I have lost 17lb in 9 weeks but the loss seems to be slowing a bit now but I dont care just as long as its coming off. Dh keeps saying I look soo slim which is a great boost How you doing breeze?
