This is our 50000 (or summat like that) thread.

Some of us do wW, some do the Lord Ford and there may even be a little bit of South Beach in here too!

If you have loads or a teeny tiny bit of weight to lose or even if you just want to eat healthy then this could be the thread for you.

Right, bed xx

Off to commune briefly with DP and watch Desperate Housewives.
And eat biscuits, let's be honest about it.

Alicetheinvisible · 02/06/2010 22:14

Defluff - thanks i have been resting in as much that i no longer muck the horses out, walk for any real distance and have rests much more often. I have kept in mind the fact you had DVT when pg (would have contacted you immediately if i was worried!), and i had to have clexane in last pg (i broke my leg so was literally on bedrest ) But thank you for thinking of me Luckily DD keeps getting into things she shouldn't/falling off things so no real chance of sitting still for long

I have decided on the red shoes (so shiney)Does anyone know how the sizing comes up on Next shoes?

DeFluffy · 02/06/2010 22:22

Iggi

Bella am I going to sound really thick if I say are you Italian?? I am aren't I. Shit.

Alice - sorry I should have known you'd know, I'm a bit evangelical about it because I had no idea and its so dangerous. I accost all pregnant women and try to inject them these days. Seriously. Got me thrown off a couple of buses so far My injections should stop in a couple of weeks but as am having leg pain and am breathless again am going to try to see dr this week.

Next shoes seem to come up normal on me, so I'm a 6 everywhere and am a 6 in Next iyswim.

Haven't looked at the link yet but will in am. I have patent bright red, teal and fuschia shoes, so 3 pairs, not all on one! I hrdly ever wear them but like looking at them. I'm a magpie when it comes to shiney stuff

Right, really to bed now x

Alicetheinvisible · 02/06/2010 22:28

I would much rather someone warn me, then mention it afterwards!

The shoes are bright red and shiny with little cut out bits. They are the sort of shoes you would spend all day looking at rather than where you are going

Must go and have a bath, night

bellavita · 02/06/2010 22:32

Fluffs - my mum is full italian, but my dad is english, so am only half. Unfortunatately, I got my dads english colouring whilst my brother took on my mum's and got the lovely olive skin. You weren't to know though! Although I suppose my christian name is a bit of a give away

Evening!

Just taking 5 mins break. top for 12th done other turning straps right way round and attaching, adding hook and eye, and the sorting out of the hem line. going to have to wait on the hem as i altered the lenght but didnt get it even in the alteration/cutting so it is going to need the help of mum who will pin it evenly for me.

So i decided to run up the second top - different material different style to the first top. this one i will put a picture on my profile for but it will also probably need hem line help so you'll have to be patient.

How is every one tonight?

MuckyDucky · 02/06/2010 22:46

Have you all gone to bed? already?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 22:51

DEM, I have promised I will teach myself sewing machine by the end of the year.

I have a lovely shiny sewing machine that I got for Christmas and have only got out of the box twice.

I may have to pick your brains later in the year if you can forgive me my overt twee sentimentality the other day.

MuckyDucky · 02/06/2010 22:54

Tell you what if i end up getting moved, might even be able to teach you. what machine have you got?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 23:02

Ermm, a white one? Hang on I'll go and look...

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 23:06

It's this one

I now nothing on the subject, but my mum bought it for me and she made her own wedding dress, so I hope she knows something about them!

MuckyDucky · 02/06/2010 23:15

that's a fab little machine. I had a simliar one (not a brother one) for my first machine. Unfortunatly I out grew it and it didnt like the the projects i was working on. It also had a fault and it has to be repair regularly. fine but very annoying when you have to stop to take it apart to tighten a screw.

I have been saving for a new one but it took so long to save that they no longer import the one i want. So I need a rethink. WHen i get moved I want to get a dressmakers dumy. I am getting fed up of sticking pins in myself. plus it would then mean i can do the hem line myself.

YanknCock · 02/06/2010 23:21

Hi, sorry to have gone awol for a bit. Felt quite down for a few days there but am perking up now. I went to bed super early last night and I think a good night's sleep has helped.

So glad to know Vinny is ok!

Sorry for all those with ill DC, I have so much sympathy. After a solid month of it here we are illness-free

XH had a good day today, he was able to sit in a chair for most of the day. I am still updating the website for his mum and saw her today briefly just to give her some more printouts of messages people have left. He is still in ICU, but hopefully moving to the high dependency unit soon. He can't talk at the moment due to having a trach tube in, but that is temporary. His mum wants to get him moved down to the southwest to a hospital nearer his parents as soon as he's able. Hopefully he will be sensible and agree.

sorry I'm being rubbish at keeping up at the moment.

wastingaway · 02/06/2010 23:34

Evening!

I've been watching Dead Poets Society, first time DH has seen it. Not sure if he liked it, he didn't really want to watch it. But I enjoyed it, and cried my eyes out, been years since I've since it.

Welcome back Goobs, did you have an amazing time?

Hello Yank, was wondering where you'd got to.
Glad to hear you're well, and that XH is improving, sorry to hear you've been feeling down though.
Do you think perhaps it's the comedown from the adrenalin that's been keeping you going?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 23:35

Yank - don't be silly, we are just happy to hear from you. Glad XH is slowly on the mend.

DEM - I have a rag doll kit to make as my starter project as it is all pre-cut pattern etc, just want to use it to get used to the machine rather than care about the finished product.

I have been hoarding fabric and patterns like nobody's business so I can make DD some lovely clothes that are not pink or flowery or covered in chuffing princesses.

I just need to get familiar with the basics so I can enjoy a couple of hours sewing here and there rather than the last time I attempted to spend an afternoon creating and spent an hour and a half just threading the bloody needle!

wastingaway · 02/06/2010 23:38

Got to go, see you all tomorrow!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 23:40

Night, wasting.

YanknCock · 02/06/2010 23:50

wasting, yes I think I'm just tired. I seriously could stay in bed for days if I didn't have places to be. Can't seem to get organised either. Now that all the crises/illnesses are over I can't focus! But I will get it together soon. I cut DH's hair tonight, that's one thing knocked off my To Do list (which I would cross out if I could find my notebook!)

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 02/06/2010 23:53

Yank, try and carve out a little time to take care of yourself.

Did miniyank's eye clear up in the end?

MuckyDucky · 03/06/2010 00:31

I'm going to go crash. Have nearly finished 2nd top. It was much easier - especially now that i can actually do gathers Need to put in the zip, attach straps, hook and eye, and hem. not bad for a day and half's work really. Got so many projects that have been waiting for me to do that i might try and have a sewing blitz when i get back of hols and just clear out the sewing machine projects. then i can focus on the needlework/knitting projects that are in the ufo list. Then i can think about the usp pile
