call an ambulance. asthma is a killer - dont unerestimate it -whilst your waiting have two cups of coffee - caffeine helps asthma ( if you didn't know)

i drink two cups of coffee as soon as i wake up

havent taken ventolin for years gives me palpitations, think its getting worse, might just be cosim worrying

you can take ten puffs.

if not helping, you really should call 999.

try pursed lips breathing in meantime. exhale slowly through pursed lips like you're blowing a trumpet. try to take as much time to exhale as poss.

drop your shoulders. sit up in a comfortable chair.

if you have no ventolin you need to get to A&E. i'm an NHS 24 call handler/advisor. if you can't talk in complete sentences and have no access to meds, it's very serious and urgent that you get medical assistance to open your airways.

if you can get someone else round to the house now, that would help but call 999 and the operator will advise you from there.

do it now.

Maybe start with 5 puffs see if that helps if you not taken any .and make sure you shake the inhaler first especially if not used in a long time

Try and relax worrying makes it worse
