Oh DEM, what can you do to sort this? Does he have any help in the classroom/school?
You are his Mother and know him best, they should not just dismiss your fears.

Impressive use of swear words btw

Mycat, I think I have outed myself as a Sleb too

BItter, sorry, still cannot get the Derren crush, but then noone gets my Alan Hansen crush, so hey ho!

up coming half term in its self is enough to send him over the edge.

a one day event sends him over the edge for 2-4 days sometimes a week.

a week long event on its own is major hell.

put all together and it will be tears, tempers and physical harm. I suspect i will be on the brunt of the physical harm. again.

No help in the class room. tbh he copes fairly well generally. its these special events and its mostly of school site delayed problems. so school dont see it and dont connect the problems.

I have rung his dad. I would prefer his dad to speak to school. I suspect only way to deal is with home school. Not impressed, about school attitude. I cant cope with it at the mo. he is off on one already, there is no way he will cope with it. am fed up I now have magor neck ache from stress, stress migraine brewing and i am going on a mission for chocolate. Need to speak to school again tomo.

MyCatIsABastard · 11/05/2010 16:32

DEM, that sounds hard. Is there anyone else you can speak to at the school about it? As Lizzy says they should not dismiss your concerns. On a maybe positive note though, it could be that at least in the school environment he is seen to be coping OK with change (not much of a one though when you are dealing with the fall out).

Is Derren the hypnotist? Maybe he's got you brain washed Bitter

Lizzy, sorry, not with you on the Alen Hansen one. He's all yours

Right, off to work.

DEM, I hope you can find a way around the situation.

Sending you a firm handshake/squeeze delete as applicable

TotalChaos · 11/05/2010 17:04

dem - sorry school aren't taking your concerns seriously. think SAF is right - that you are going to have to spell out to them how they can improve matters for your DS. if he gets loads of advance warning of what will happen and when, does that help, or is it the change in the routine rather than anxiety about new things that's the problem?

vinny - get chasing those results. the anxiety etc doesn't sound like you - not that I know you well or in RL, but you've always presented as very sorted, no neurotic tendencies.

ferret - I find that my hayfever varies drastically from year to year- some years it's awful, mostly it's merely inconvenient. It was worse at the beginning of spring than it is now tbh.

TotalChaos · 11/05/2010 17:07

today - work and school. Meh. work - new overtime work is stressy, people insinuating I am making extra work for them, not enough training, right hand not knowing what left hand is doing etc. I cocked up slightly but not really my fault I don't think. I will give it a month but if the overtime is still making me miserable I'm going to have to jack it in, DH and DS are more important.

school - DS is being a bit tired and unresponsive at school - there's hints being dropped about his bedtime (DS has always been late in bed, never needed 12 hours sleep, probably connected to his SN). He's getting no less sleep than usual. I think it's more likely he's too hot, and not thinking to take his jumper off. will attempt to get him in his room for 8.30......

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/05/2010 17:37

both and the noise. he has sensory issues, loud sudden noises can be a porblem and were a problem when they had the music lot come in at the start of the year. he was ok with the science lot but science is his comfort zone.

to be honest mum says that when he had a mini melt down at school (and he has only had one) they blamed it on his friends. It is worse, in some respects that he doesnt melt down at school as they really have no idea what damage they do.

I think his dad needs to speak to the school as i am only the overeacting mum. I have had enough. home eding looks very appealing but not really what he needs. he needs the school environment to develop his social skills. But i need i child who i dont have to be scared of and who can cope with life. It seems i cant have both. my head hurts. I have a black eye rom last night I am not hapy. i want ot go to bed. damm good deads.

YanknCock · 11/05/2010 17:38

Will be back to read the thread later, but just wanted to pop in and say think you to bella!

I got home to a lovely, funny card, some very tasty chocolates (but not enough to ruin a diet of course) and a gorgeous bracelet! This really made my day, so kind of you and so much appreciated Will be wearing the bracelet to the wedding reception on saturday.

Car all sorted and DS's eyes seem to be responding to ointment, so all looking a bit brighter at the moment

TrillianAstra · 11/05/2010 17:38

You didn't finish the old thread you bastards!

Hey kids, just got back from the wedding, did ya miss me?

Anthing exciting happen when I was away? Who wants to do a roundup?

The dress was big hit, so mucho thanks to Hells and Bella. Maxi dresses are awesome when it's a bit chilly, I had 3/4 length leggings on underneath and it kept me warm! The bride's 'something blue' was her face by the time the photos were done (joke stolen from Alice ).

TrillianAstra · 11/05/2010 17:52

Come back! I'll stop shouting!

Hi DIB! Loved you calling DEM DIB earlier (or was it the other way round?) - nice to see that everyone gets confised with acronyms sometimes

A poem? Oh dear. I find poems and advice don't mix - you always have to compromise your rhyming or compromise your common sense.

TrillianAstra · 11/05/2010 18:41

What shall we have for dinner? Current options are risotto or curry.

Did I mention that New York made me put on 3 lbs? I'm off to Egypt on Tuesday so not sure how much headway I can make, and an all-inc holiday will not be good for the waistline.

I told the story of Alice and the horse-ultrasound at the wedding and people were very impressed.

Any room for a little one? I am actually very slim, ridiculously so in fact, but need to eat more healthily- and it was either here or the other thread with the less humorous title. So can I join?
