Sorry for crap title, my first time

Roundup of today:

shiney, hope you and J have a wonderful weekend together.

Queen, yuck. I hated nearly every minute of my pregnancy. Seriously, if you search my name from about Jan-Aug 2009, it will all be me moaning about how much it sucks. Sympathy for you from another hyperemesis sufferer.

DIB, my stomach leapt a bit reading about your DS, how scary! Glad he seems to be ok.

Alice, your DS is very curled up in there and you've got a ways to go (sorry!) so wouldn't worry about bump size at all.

VT, I think you should prepare for the camping by ceasing all ironing now

BOF, what the hospital appt for? You ok? Hope you feel better!

ABF, hello and welcome! I also think of Carry On films when I see ding dong, DH has forced me to watch them as part of my education on what it means to be British

DI, I am jealous. Tell me next time it is 'dress like a pirate day'.

SAF, my mom believed in benign neglect and got two very self-reliant and capable children. I don't go for doorstop selling of anything, I have a very comprehensive sign that seems to be keeping people away and stuff out of the letterbox.

bitter, I'm sorry, but at your DS being a bottom-flasher!

GetOrf, so giving up diet coke makes you lose weight? Might have to try that one!

bella, glad the cake situation was sorted. I am jealous, I want ducks to come to my house. We just have the neighbourhood cat who leaves us dead stuff [boak]

Goober, yay for another pound off!

korma, flylady is the way forward.

Sazz, that doesn't sound too bad, 4lbs can come off in two weeks. Good job on all the exercise.

Jet, hello! You just reminded me to check my BMI, and I have JUST graduated from 'Morbidly Obese' to merely 'Obese'! Hooray!

Mitts, at least she is your XMIL

hells, good luck with the nits

ScreaminEagle, I'm another who joined late (though it's been nearly 6 months now!).

Norma, hope your DS's finger is ok!

Defluff, at 'yo homies' I feel 12 again.

Went to pick up DS at nursery today and was alerted to the possibility he may be developing chicken pox!! ARrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I really really hope not, I've only been back at work a week!

My luck is seriously shit. On the positive side the nursery worker thought if he had it the spots would be showing up faster instead of the very gradual increase over the day. So either he doesn't have it and has some weird other rash thing, or he has a mild case, or it will be turning up with a vengence tomorrow.

Either way, it is wine o'clock, DH is going to Spar now to fetch some in.

I felt my work there was done, and they all seemed to agree. So here I am!

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 19:44

I also need a wee, and my oldest two DDs are clamouring for me to watch BGT with them...I only have 15 more minutes with you all!

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 19:46

Ok, have weed now.

PITA, I have a question for you. Should I do it or not?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 01/05/2010 19:48

Hi...

Sorry not been on.

Was woken early this morning by text from DD's Dad, she was having a major Asthma attack and he hadn't realised the inhaler had run out. She was in a really bad way. Anyway, she had an opticians appointment later in the after noon having complained a couple of times that her sight is blurry.

Have always had lots of confidence in the Optician so was [shocked] when she said that DD has an undiagnosed sight problem that she has been suffering with for years and compensating for by herself. Just never bothered to complain.

She also said (the optician) that it is highly likely she is suffering from migraines (again never complained when she was 'out of sorts'), highly likely she has food allergies and also enquired if she had been checked for a hole in the heart.

Just gutted for her. Her attitude has been getting worse but it is not surprising. Will have to take a deep breathe, accept the status quo and take action from here. for now though.

I had a nicish day. I went shopping to stock up on scented candles, girlie toiletries, and stuff. Nothing outrageous but stuff that makes life a little sweeter.

I will catch up tomorrow, but a bit introspective tonight.

Hugs, xx's, s all round...

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 19:49

Only if you use protection.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 19:51

Oh no, Mitts Your poor DD, and you. You do seem to be being handed an awful lot to cope with!

PITA - not sure what sort of protection would work, and against what exactly...

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 19:55

Oh Mitts- I hope tonight is more peaceful for you al dearie

MrsWobble- I thought you were talking about little wrigglers, or have I got the wrong end of stick and beaten about the bush with it? It wouldn't be the first time...

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 19:56

I meant all. But if Al is reading, God Bless him too.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 19:56

Oh no, not little wrigglers! Yuck! Don't want any of that sort of malarky going on here!

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 19:57

If anyone else has any words of wisdom for my on my dilemma, I'd be very appreciative!

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 19:58

Should you watch BGT?

Certainly.

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 19:59

I might even be on it tonight. I am a larger lady with surprising suppleness for my age.

QueenofDreams · 01/05/2010 20:00

mitts that sounds rough
yank my sister suffers from PCOS. She is now making a serious effort to lose weight. She has managed 21.5 pounds so far even in the face of insulin resistance so I am so proud of how well she's done.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 01/05/2010 20:02

Oh, I have no choice about watching BGT!

Ok, I'll be more specific. Should I join?

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 20:05

Weightwatchers?

A swingers' club?

The KGB?

wastingaway · 01/05/2010 20:05

Evening.

Blimey Mitts, poor lass. Hopefully you'll be able to get stuff sorted though, and she'll be happier.
Your shopping sounds very sensible.

MrsW are you joining the Labour party?

PictureInTheAttic · 01/05/2010 20:05

I'm in all three, so it's a yes from me, by the way.

MyCatIsABastard · 01/05/2010 20:05

Evening. DD in bed and I have now eaten and no longer feel like some sort of hungry monster (anyone else get all jittery and angry when really hungry? I have been known to end full on work meetings because I had to eat!).

Instructions - DD is indeed creative bloody messy !

Mitts, so sorry about your DD. I think it is quite usual for children to compensate because they really don't know any different (as in, they think everyone sees/thinks like they do - one of my closest friends had terrible, couldn't see properly beyond about 6ft type eyesight and noone knew until she was about 6 or 7 as she just thought everyone saw like that).

MyCatIsABastard · 01/05/2010 20:07

Mrs W, join what? Sorry, think I've missed something here.

TotalChaos · 01/05/2010 20:10

Mitts - sorry you had such a gruelling day, do you have a nice GP or school nurse you can talk about this too, it sounds most peculiar that optician has come out with all this.

In terms of compensation:- I didn't complain about being shortsighted at age 9ish, as I didn't realise it was abnormal struggling to read the blackboard, so took a long time for my mum to twig.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 01/05/2010 20:21

Wow Mitts you have had a day of it.

MrsW, have missed your dilemma.

I found a lamb today, apparently it had gone missing at the beginning of the week, it shat all over my kicthen floor and has now gone over the road for feeding, if it survives will be in our freezer come winter time.
