This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

My trainer suggests hot and cold showers to cure muscle soreness. May just try a hot one for now.

My dds are going to live with me forever iggi . We are going to be one of those wierd families with grown up kids eternally at home, all arguing with each other non stop in an unhealthy co-dependent way .

Slugbrains · 25/04/2010 01:09

hot and cold therapy is good for the muscles as the heat relaxes, whilst the cold reduces swelling. supposed to be fab. Rest is good to as it allows the muscles to repair any minor damage.

I am all clean from the foam.

Yep really realy free. Tis lovely feeling drug and you get completely hooked. One of the guys said tonight that once it gets into you blood you can never escape. And i must admit i have to agree. It is very very adictive. However, you will have to kick me/tell me to shut up if i drone on and get boring.

As usual i am procrastinating re going to sleep. tis a very bad habbit.

Iggi999 · 25/04/2010 01:10

I think there's a chance we will change our minds when they are 26 and still living at home!

TotalChaos · 25/04/2010 07:34

Morning!

Mitts - hope your DS is OK, didn't see about the dog bite.

Slug - what could be healthier than the natural high from physical activity? glad you are enjoying the skating so much

Roller - camping does seem to be the holiday of choice of skint people, so I assume apart from the initial layout on tents it is a cheap holiday - I imagine the trick is to have kids old enough so that you can trust them to run around fields etc and not have to keep an eye on every minute

Morning everyone else.

SaF hope you have a good BBQ, the weather is not so good down here today.

Having a lazy breakfast and then may take DD down to the Cove for some prawns while DS sleeps and then going to watch my sister compete on her pony before going out for a late lunch.

Bella, glad you had a good night out with your DH.

Missed the dog bite Mitts.

Morning

Have tried to read all your posts but have got a slight headache and I cannot seem to take anything in at all

I need to have some breakfast!

Gloomy here with the weather but at least I won't mind being stuck indoors doing the next bit on the blasted cake.

bellavita · 25/04/2010 08:59

We have just given two old childrens bikes away on freecycle. I cannot believe the cheek of some people. DH put the bikes on there Friday evening and one person e-mailed 3 times within about 15 mins with a huge sob story. DH had said he would not make a decision for a day or so. Anyway, he gave the bikes to the last e-mail that came through - they just asked pleasantly for the bikes.

jetcat · 25/04/2010 09:08

morning all

Essay day here again, though only a level 1 rework to do, so shouldnt take too long Am a bit poorly though, and been up most of the night, so hope i can stay awake long enough

good to see you back safe and sound Yank

Bella - thats fab you had a lovely time with DH, i bet you are looking forward to the next date We have all kinds of requests on our freecycle - the latest chancer guy has requested an iphone, a laptop (must be high spec though) and a plasma tele I know some folks can be generous, but really....

Mitts - i missed about the dog bite too - your DS was bitten?

bellavita · 25/04/2010 09:21

Jet, I hope you feel better soon. Maybe try and have a nap this afternoon if you have been up most of the night.

I too have missed the dog bite . How is DS Mitts?

Have just eaten an orange and have cut up some strawberries - need these to come to room temp though as my teeth don't like things straight from the fridge. Will have veg stir fry for lunch and then roast pork and salad for tea.

Claudia and lotster (I think it was you two) - the toast thing last night.... I have cut out bread for the last three weeks now so this is why I was about it, but it seemed to be the best option instead of the chinese takeaway.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 25/04/2010 09:23

Just had bacon sandwich but only plan to have one more meal today about 3 ish with DC's so not ffeling to bad about it.

VinegarTits · 25/04/2010 09:28

good morning

i ate and drank waaaaay too much yesterday, but today is a new day, back to counting points and going to start exercising this week to try and drop a few more lbs, i would like to lose another 12lb, then i will be at a healthy weight and bmi for my height

woke up to rain, but the sun seems to be trying to poke through, hopefully it will be nice this afternoon so i can wash my precious car

bof was laughing at me because i have valeted it twice already and ive only had it for a month

bellavita · 25/04/2010 09:29

at bacon sandwich Fanny.

bellavita · 25/04/2010 09:32

Hallo Vinny

I like keeping my car clean too - hate it looking dirty and I certainly don't do mess inside either.

Are you using any of the recipes on the ww site or just looking at it for points?

VinegarTits · 25/04/2010 09:40

im just counting points atm Bella, would love to try some recipes but lately i have been so busy and not had a chance to sit down and search for some nice ones to make

im pleased with myself for sticking to it though

im very ocd about my car, my other mini was always spotless, which is why i was so when xfil claimed to have valeted it when he took it to be fixed, he bloody well never

have told my xp that he is not welcome at my house anymore, so the cheeky sod went to see my dad and asked him if he could have a word with me my dad said 'errr Vinny has a mind of her own and if thats what shes decided theres nothing i can do about mate'
