DH took DS2 up to his friends tonight, he told the parents what happened with the bike and he offered to buy his friend another one. The parents said he didn't have to but a small gift to say sorry might be more appropriate, they also said they were disappointed in him. I am going into town tomorrow after work so will get some vouchers (DH thinks £40 worth to make a decent gesture) for the Warhammer shop as he does this as a hobby.

I know Bella - but the words 'pride comes before a fall' keep ringing in my head . It's something I do really struggle with - I always think 'with the good must come the bad' and I know that is a very very negative way of thinking

I think it probably happened when I managed to set off the alarm in gap as they hadn't taken a tag off. I suspect while I was distracted about that someone could have taken it. Usually I put it in DD's pushchaire (she has a footwarmer bit!) but I put it in a bag that was hanging on the pushchair - so relatively easy access for someone. I am sort of hoping that it was someone really desperate for money. Then at least I wouldn't feel quite so
