Morning all

I'm at a study day today, and going to for a meal with DH tonight

That's all I have to say

Oh and will not comment on my feelings about CC except to say that we didn't do it with any of ours and the older three sleep very well now - DD4 is still a baby so doesn't count! We just bfed them and cuddled them when they were asleep until they were old enough to reliably stay asleep when we put them in bed - but you do have to turn your thinking abound from 'when am I going to ever get a break' to 'I am determined to enjoy the cuddles because they don't stay little like this for long!'.

NormaSknockers · 06/02/2010 08:35

Morning all,

Crikey I've got a lot to catch up on you could all just stop talking for a while

Vinny - how long did your neighbour sing for? Was a decent song at least?

Busy weekend this weekend with lots of tempting food on offer so I have made the decision to not even go near the food in the hope I won't be tempted. Got to take DD a soft play party this morning & that won't be to hard to avoid as all the food is fowl then we're off to the baech but I'll eat before we go then tomorrow is my nephews Christening followed by a buffet. My plan is to get DH to sort the children out food wise & that way I won't even have to go near the buffet as once I start nibbling I won't be able to stop, my Nana is on WW too so we're going to pack our own lunch & sit together away from the buffet

Alice - so pleased your scan went well, DS is an Aug babe too. How you feeling now?

NormaSknockers · 06/02/2010 08:46

Getorf - welcome back (& thank you for saying you think my MN is funny, I've aways liked you

Sazz - well done on your loss!

Vinny - I have to admit I'm not an ironer, the only thing I iorn is DH's shirts & even then I only th sleeves as his stab vest goes over the top anyway

Yank - sorry DS caused a row, how are you all today? Totally agree with BOF that controlled crying really can work, we did it with DD when she was 7 months, had it down in 5 days & she's been an excellent sleeper ever since!

morning all.

hope the pissed singing didnt go on too long vinny

FB - enjoy your lovely meal tonight, and Norma, enjoy the soft play It is always a joy in this household when we visit the dreaded soft play!

Girls are off to their dads this weekend, so hopefully i can get some studying done, after all the ironing that is - i tend to only iron when needed, or when there are no ironed clothes left in the wardrobes

Hope everyone has a lovely day

NormaSknockers · 06/02/2010 08:57

Hoorah for a weekend on your own Jet!

I'm dreading soft play, during the week I don't mind it but at weekends it's just awful!

Morning

First day without the sickness bands see how we go!

Trills - i assure you that no woman who has carried a baby to term would agree that the child was born too early

Norma - feeling ok thanks, Soooooo hungry constantly

bellavita · 06/02/2010 09:10

Morning all

Just having a coffee then it will be porridge this morning for breakfast.

Need to get a move on so I can go the butchers and get the meat I have ordered.

DS2 said I had bed head when I came down. He said it looked like a poodles tail at the back

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/02/2010 09:12

I am in a bad mood.

I need to sit on the naughty step. I feel argumentative and just grumpy. I don't really do bad moods.

I am glad the DC's are going to their Dads in a bit. I might go for a run.

NormaSknockers · 06/02/2010 09:19

What a charmer Bella

Mitts, here have some maltesers they'll help life your mood

Alice - glad you're feeling well, don;t wory about the hunger just do what you need to do to get through the pregnancy. It's just about about making the right food choices (says she who lived on buttery mash, mars bars & chinese in her 1st pregnancy!)

Morning!
DS seems a little better today, though we've already had one nappy incident today.

A run sounds like a good idea Mitts.

Hope the sickness has cleared now Alice.

I may buy a new ironing board today.

bellavita · 06/02/2010 09:29

I hate ironing, although I do it. I like freshly ironed clothes, hate to be crumpled. Even when I get in the car I have to "arrange" everything under the seatbelt so it doesn't get creased.

Sounds like DS is getting better Wasting.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/02/2010 09:34

Oh I am welling up now......

delicately takes maltesers, pain au chocolate and special coffee......

You guys are soooo lovely.

Go for the Big ironing board wasting.....I hate doing big stuff on a small ironing board.t

YanknCock · 06/02/2010 09:34

morning all.

didn't make it to bed till 1am. DS woke up again, more rowing about what to do, finally got DH to do him a bottle from freezer. I am never going to build up a reserve at this rate! He kept falling asleep on boob without taking much, then waking again after about 15 minutes of being down (sometimes less). He finally went to sleep after 6oz EBM, but then stayed up discussing/rowing/crying (me) It's not just the sleeping bit, it's that DS is so clingy during the day too, by the end of the day I'm so frustrated, and then I get angry at DH for being frustrated too, because he's not had to deal with DS all day so he's 'not allowed'. Probably not terribly fair of me.

Trills, that was exactly what I said to MrCock. If we're going to do CC, then he needs to research/read up, not just say 'oh we'll leave him to cry'. He is nearly 5.5 months, I think too young for any of it anyway, but haven't looked into it too much myself.

Thank you for all the advice everyone.

DH has made me a nice (reduced fat) fryup. I have to go get my legs/bikini line waxed later. Am so tired I think I'll snore through it.

wastingaway · 06/02/2010 09:35

I hope so Bella.

I'm fed up of looking scruffy. I'm sure it's perfectly possible to be massive and groomed.
Not that I'll start brushing my hair of course

wastingaway · 06/02/2010 09:45

Thanks Mitts, I've room for a big one.

Yank, sounds like hard going. A plan is important, just making a plan seems to help me.

hellsbelles · 06/02/2010 09:45

Yank - we did cc too with DS at about 9 months but haven't been desperate enough to do it with DD. It was a revelation for us with DS and worked very very quickly (though there is no question that it is very stressful and you have to be ready for that)

To ease Mrcock's need for information get him to read Dr Richard Ferber's 'Solve your child's sleep problems' (it's on amazon but for some reason I can't link??!)

Have woken up with rubbish scratchy throat but have taken copious amounts of strong pain killers to allow me to get party stuff packed up. MIL & FIL just came over to collect keys for car and did a double take as I answered the door in PJ's and hair sticking out at all angles. I think they could have attempted to hide their shock ...

MitsubishiWarrioress · 06/02/2010 10:26

Oh yank..... how tough. It is so hard and I feel for you. We saw a specialist who said with his child (although a bit older) he found not making eye contact helped them crack it.

And the cycle of them being dependant on the mother and that wanting a break from them but being magnetically drawn to not being able to let go is one I went through. The giving him one of your tops might help (I think someone earlier suggested it) maybe swaddle him whilst you feed him and then lay him down in the crib.

With DD I sometimes used to nest her and then BF her at a peculiar angle so I could disengage myself without disturbing her! CC wasn't a choice for DS as he did the crying himself sick and hysterical thing.

You must both be exhausted, so sympathies to you both and I hope the weekend holds some relief for you.

VinegarTits · 06/02/2010 10:30

Morning, the singing didnt go on for long thank goodness, he sounded like an old rag and bone man

Mitts be kind to yourself today, i was in such a bad mood yesterday (hence me turning into the ironing nazi from hell ) but i feel much better today, hope your mood brightens soon

Lizzylou · 06/02/2010 10:34

Morning all

Mitts, am sending you a massive huge, some carrot cake (it is healthy, it has veg) and an instruction to get on your spacehopper!

DIB, you going for the English today then ? I don't even like rugby but went to a Welsh Uni (when England won lots, so that was nice!) and have lots of welsh FB mates. Hope England win!
Wrong shaped ball though.

Knew Flam and Sazz (and their girls)would be lovely, all those girls together, my DS2 would be in heaven!

Vinny, I do iron, but have a spare room full of clothes waiting tobe ironed, but yes, clothes that need it are ironed (my Mom used to iron knickers and tea towels, but that gene wasn't passed to me)

Looking forward to Match of the Day tonight, get my ALAN HANSEN fix for the week

Gym after work, then some wine so I can settle down and lust over Mr H..........

Ooh now I do like a nice spiced muffin...ta.

bellavita · 06/02/2010 10:47

Oh fgs the rugby - that means DH is going to be in front of the chuffin tv all afternoon

I too am a fan of leaving babies to cry, as long as they are warm, fed and dry.

Lizzylou · 06/02/2010 10:51

I sort of did CC with DS1, sounds similar to what Shiney did for a minute at a time, DS2 was OK. So I think I was just v lucky.

I didn't feel v lucky this morning when I wok to the dulcet tones of my boys singing at the tops of their voices, both snuggled in DS2's bed at bloody 5.30am!

Hells, hope the party goes well today!

VinegarTits · 06/02/2010 10:53

i want a space hopper, i have one of those big balls that Ivana Trump had in the BB house but it has a puncture i loved bouncing on it though
