Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

good to hear Flam. Zillion sounds like a massive improvement.

And I agree on your succinct summary - babies are hard work but worht it....though I also love Cat's hope explanation....that's EXACTLY the way it is!

THose of you doing the SB - I found this cookbook really helped. It's all in US measurements (so cups) but I had some of those from JOhn Lewis so it didn't cause me a problem and I converted the oven temps via google. It's got some really nice recipes in it - and makes it all a bit more manageable. If anyone is interested I'll bung some up on the recipe thread later (they are mostly quite simple)

wastingaway · 15/01/2010 13:34

Glad you're feeling better today Flamingo.

Plumber's finished, leak is fixed and I now have the boiler on!

The plumber's mate wasn't as cute wasn't he took his cheeky hat off.

wastingaway · 15/01/2010 13:38

Wow Saz - that's great.

I checked my BMI at this weight (10 1/2) and it was really good so hopefully yours will be. I'm about 5ft 8. Though I think my frame looks at it's best at about 9 - 9 1/2 stone - haven't checked what the BMI will be for that!

Well done Saz!!! Fab news

Hells, I would be really interested in some of your recipes. Am sort of half on, half off of the wagon just now. The south beach diet sounds great. The initial boost of weight loss must help motivate further loss when you start to reintroduce other foods back in?

TrillianAstra · 15/01/2010 15:23

Well done on hitting the good BMI categories guys

I had supernoodles for lunch. I did enjoy them though. Chicken with parma ham and lots of roasted veg for dinner, a la Mamazon (ish).

jetcatisfrozen · 15/01/2010 15:43

congrats sazz and well done hells and tracey on the loss as well - we must really be on a roll now

Lizzylou · 15/01/2010 15:59

Blimey, Sazz, that is a fab loss! Well done you

Hells, you must have a much smaller build than me, at 9.5stone I think I'd have evaporated! I am 5ft 9" and built like a prop forward though.
I have the South Beach Diet cookbook, cos I reckoned that if it had the outline of the plan and lots of reciped I'd find it easier to follow.

Could you post those Greek meatballs recipe that you had the other night please? I have bought lean mince, low fat feta and have oregano etc, they sounded delish

Freezer and cupboards are stocked, I do love pay day

I must have lost weight, I had on a woollen dress that just clung to my muffin top and made me look like a red blob a few weeks ago, it is now just loose and a bit skimming, which is as it should be.

TrillianAstra · 15/01/2010 16:12

I'm 5'7 and 9 1/2 is light for me, but that's cos I keep a nice stock of weight on my legs in case of emergencies, at 9 1/2 my arms/boobs/waist/face are all leaving 'slim' and heading towards 'skinny'.

bellavita · 15/01/2010 16:18

Yay for Sazz

Lizzy, I bet you look lovely in your woollen dress. I tried to get low fat feta on my Tesco shop, but they didn't seem to do it

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 15/01/2010 16:20

Bella, they do low fat Feta in one of the Tescos near us, we have a choice of 3 Tescos within 10 mins drive, who says they are taking over the world???

I look a darn sight better in the red woollen dress now, just after Christmas I looked like a bumpy tomato!

Still a way to go though!

Hooray for asbestos!! We definitely have it. Not quite the result I was hoping for (not getting a complete new kitchen), but I will have a newly painted, flat skimmed ceiling in the kitchen, and the kitchen walls will be painted, and I get to pick the colour, which will not be dirty dull baby poop orange).

Also convinced them to replace the ripped up laminate in the bathroom and toilet with vinyl, so I have an allowance of £14 per square metre for that. Just have to go pick something out and give them the store and product code!

They will re-do the landing in laminate if I want, or give me a £155 settlement if I choose to take care of it myself. I'd been looking at getting the stairs recarpeted, and think maybe I could get both the stairs and landing done for £155 or not much over. Need to mull it over, opinions please?

Poledra, DS has been moaning again today so have tried the reflexology...no result as of yet, but he seemed to quiet down a bit at least.

MyCat, DS is wearing one of the Robot sleepsuits and it fits perfectly!

Hi Shiney.

Yay for new celing and walls and floor Yank

YanknCock · 15/01/2010 17:22

Sazz, Spinningfields has lots of places to eat I think, but never been there. My only request would be going somewhere I can use a credit card as I am broke until payday.

jetcatisfrozen · 15/01/2010 17:23

hurray for asbestos - theres a sentence i never thought i would hear Happy you are getting newly decorated though

Lol at Trills' emergency weight - can i say that i have emergency weight for the whole of my town do you think

Sazz - i mile swimming, impressive. I have been duly exercising (just in the house though) and even ran 300 yards to the car park from the cimema (dont go and see the new George Clooney film, it is pants) to aviod the rain. In front of people and everything I remember the time i would only run if no one was in a square mile radius

Hope everyone is ok, and Vinny, i may try minijet on some olives, she likes most foods, and i think they are good for you?

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 15/01/2010 17:24

That's great news yank. Dunno what I'd do if I were you. Price up the landing and bathroom and get the £155 if it's under? I take it the £155 is to cover laying it too?

Lizzy - a red woolen dress sounds really lovely. Red is my favourite colour and wool is just so cosy and snug

Hiya Shiney - hope you feel a bit better when you've had the chance to wind down.

bellavita · 15/01/2010 17:28

Hey Shiney one

I had quite a nice quiet day a work today except for a horrible boy saying I wasn't ever polite to him

Think I am going to have a ww meal for tea. Boys are having pizza and DH usually on a Fri tea has bacon butties.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 15/01/2010 17:47

Yank, hurrah for asbestos!
When we had our flood, we took the vouchers, the amount they gave us carpeted our dining room and lounge, in a much better carpet. It was only supposed to cover the dining room, so well worth shoppin around yourself.

Shiney, hope you feel better after a bit of relaxation and some dinner.

Bella at horrible boy, I cannot imagine you ever being anything other than lovely

Sazz, DH has put in the Swimathon application, so will be joining you in the swimming! Think you're faster than me though, like your running as well

Squeezy, the red woollen dress was one of the Additions Direct/Very bargains, so praise be to our Leader Shiney for that one!

Hey Jet, you are doing so well, you must be really proud of yourself.

Stuffed peppers with low fat feta and salad for dinner, am famished.

bellavita · 15/01/2010 17:57

Mmmm stuffed peppers - yum. I need to pop to Sainsbo's tomorrow, I will see if they do low fat feta (although it is a small store, so won't hold out much hope), but we have an abundance of peppers in the fridge. Talk me through how you are going to do them Lizzy. (Normally, I halve them leaving the stalk in tact, put on baking tray with olive oil and seasoning and roast. When softened, I fill with cous cous, goats cheese, mushrooms. Then I reheat through when needed.
