Vinny - it is either that she really is Davina McCall or a hairy arsed trucker called Dave!!

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 10:32

If she is Divina i'll be having words as she never replies to my tweets

SycamoretreeIsVile · 12/01/2010 10:32

Hello all. I have missed you massively. Have lurked occasionally and posted not at all really.

Apologies to Alice as I have jumped in in the middle of a crisis, so sorry about that.

No, nothing so exciting as patter of feet, or as impressive as diminishing size (am back to where I was when I first joined the thread, but back on WW as of last week).

No, it is that I have accidentally gone and won the Total Yoghurt recipe challenge.

Sorry

I had an email from Julie this morning and she asked me to as everyone the following:

" We would also be really keen to know how many MNetters (would appreciate complete honestly for our research) have bought TOTAL since the free trial, if yes, how often, if not, any reasons why and is there anything we can change that would make you buy it? It is really great to know for our research and future marketing plans?"

I know we and you have all talked quite a lot about all these over the threads, but it's quite hard for Julie I expect to try and sift through all the threads to try and get a sense of anything.

If anyone who has anything to contribute could do so on this thread I'm sure she'd appreciate it, and also, it would be proof that we can be relied on for a decent bit of market research type feedback in terms of any future companies who might want to sling freebies our way!

SycamoretreeIsVile · 12/01/2010 10:34

Oh, and was I right or was I right about my show Big Brother being cancelled?

bellavita · 12/01/2010 10:36

Syc -lovely to "see" you again...

I am still buying the Total yog - in fact further up the thread I say I had my yogga brekka this morning. I buy 3 small pots of 0% every week with packs of blueberries. I would love to have a pot every day but it is too expensive.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 10:36

i wasnt included in the free trial so

I'm still quite upset and bitter, but would love it if they sent me some free yoghurt to try

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 10:37

Hello Syc! Well done on winning the comp, only fair as I have just sat down to your patented brekkie now

Alice, am sure all wil be OK, will be thinking of you.

TDWP, 11 types of cheese! I bloody love cheese, but completely overindulged over Christmas so am on low fat stuff only (which is not exactly wondrous, but hey ho).

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 10:38

CBB has got loads more viewers this time round though? maybe they you will change thier your minds about cancelling it

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 10:39

I alternate between 0% Total and Tescos own low fat yoghurt (which is nowhere near as nice, but cheaper and as it is less tasty I don't wolf it down in one go).

I do have problems getting the 0% stuff, and it is pricey, have searched high and low for the 2% stuff as DH liked that as well and cannot find it anywhere.

So price and availability a prob for me.

bellavita · 12/01/2010 10:39

I still lurve you Syc, even though you abandoned us... and fair play to you for winning the recipe comp as it was your breakfast recipe in the first place that got us all eating the yoghurt.

Yes, it is pricey isn't it . It is also unfortunate that it goes so well with blueberries - possibly the most expensive fruit one can buy.

So all in all, it's not a cheap breakfast, but it is enormously satisfying and filling.

I just forced myself to buy the larger pots in sainsbo's and ration it myself, but I do like the one portion pots for ease when dieting - it's all measured out for you.

On thing that I love about the yogs is that they have a really long sell by date, so it's virtually impossible to have one go out of date on you. I'm not sure how you'd market this without it going against the appealing freshness of a yoghurt, but it is a real plus point of the product too.

I am also quite fetishistic about the peeling off of the foil and that rather old fashioned, rustic lid of paper on top. It makes me feel like I'm eating something very authentic.

Right, that's enough feedback from me for now.

Vinny - I will send you a pot!

SycamoretreeIsVile · 12/01/2010 10:43

recipe was:

Chicken with Creamy Leek and Mushroom sauce with Potato and Squash Cakes (Makes Meal for Two)

First peel and chop one large potato and put on the boil. Peel and chop butternut squash - about half the amount of potato you have prepped. Put aside to chuck in with the boiling potatoes 5 mins before they are ready (or steam them separately if you can). Once your root veggies are cooked, mash them together, season well with salt and pepper and set aside. Don't add any butter as the squash will be wet enough to bind the potato.

Fry two cloves of crushed garlic in olive oil for a few seconds in a large frying pan.

Add to to the hot pan to sliced chicken breasts and cook until meat is cook at least on the outside.

Add two large finely sliced leeks and 150 grams (or to taste) of chunkily chopped white mushrooms.

Fry until leeks are softened and chicken is cooked through.

Whilst this is happening, shape your mashed potato and squash into two large patties and fry in a separate plan in a nob of butter until nicely browned and crispy.

Add to the pan about 6 tablespoons of nice, flavoursome chicken stock. Bring to the boil, then take the heat right down.

Spoon in 3/4 dessert spoons of 2% (or any %) fat Total Greek Yoghurt and stir through. Take off the heat.

Serve the chicken alongside the potato cakes and spoon over the creamy, sauce.

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 10:45

Mmm, looks nice. Is it on the recipe thread?

I think I am ready to eat yoghurt again, but Total is very expensive. I did love the ones with the portion of honey - very convenient.

Hello, TDWP, that's a lot of cheese - it does freeze though, if you've got space in a freezer.

Well done Sycamore - whaddya get for winning (other than loads of kudos)?

FlamingoBingo · 12/01/2010 10:47

I don't buy it because I don't really eat yoghurt!

Poledra - make sure you talk to her about it at home, then, and tell her it's a private thing you only talk about at home.

Syc !!! Yay!!!! Please stay!

TDWP - welcome. I don't think I'm very cool, but I'm here anyway so cool-by-associationg maybe?

I've never been in roundup - sob!

SycamoretreeIsVile · 12/01/2010 10:48

I will email now!

No, i don't think it is on the recipe thread but I did post it on this thead when I sent it in.

I will always want you Shiney. In ways that are not entirely appropriate for a public forum.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 10:49

Aww you dont have to do that Syc, i am kidding about being bitter, i just like to moan alot crave attention

SycamoretreeIsVile · 12/01/2010 10:53

I get......

More Total Yoghurt!

Yay!

Shiney - you have electronic mail from me

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 12/01/2010 10:55

Hiya ladies

Have had a good laugh to myself reading about telling the kids about the birds and bees, fluffy bottom etc etc

I was on hols when the Total thing kicked off so I kind of missed it. I occasionally buy low fat stuff but it's usually supermarket branded for use in curries or dips.

Brekkie was 2 slices of toast, lunch will be soup and dinner later will be....erm....dunno yet

I read that a large glass of freezing cold water as soon as you get up, burns 62 calories as your body has to work hard to warm the water to body temp. So it's water every morning for me

Hiya TDWP (another one of my fave MN nicknames) and well done Syc for winning the comp!!

bellavita · 12/01/2010 10:56

Awwww - hums "Reunited" by Peaches and Cream...

FlamingoBingo · 12/01/2010 10:59

God I bloody hate my children sometimes!

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 12/01/2010 10:59

Shiney - am intrigued about one of your interesting things.....the thing you refuse to do every day.....are you gonna spill the beans and tell what it is?

Trills - how is your DP getting on looking for work? Any sign of interviews? Such a bad time of year to find something.

Poledra · 12/01/2010 11:01

What have they done, Flamingo? Come and have a cup of tea and good ol' moan.
