well - had mine waxed for the first time ever - as i thought i would avoid that horrible shaving stubble ....

And i have broken out in - for want of a better phrase - itchy zits ...

I've been having mine waxed for years and do find that I get a sore rash sometimes (also ingrowing hairs). Have used Veet a couple of times recently and thought it was excellent. The regrowth is actually very soft and I seem to have avoided the stubbly stage. The only thing I hate is the way it attacks your nails when you put it on! Too scared to shave!

in belgium they used to sell a veet cream/moisturizer to prevent ingrown hairs. i found it really worked, but i've never seen it for sale in the uk.

no, it was more specifically to prevent the hairs to grow in.

i had one tube of it and it lasted me quite a while. but now i'm too embarrassed to ask my mum to send me more of it i'll have to have a look in the shops when i next go over.

yoyo · 28/06/2005 19:49

I have seen stuff for sale where I get my waxing done but the name escapes me. It basically contains salicylic acid (aspirin) but is rather expensive. The name will come to me. Blast. Children or age or just knackered?

lilaclotus · 28/06/2005 19:51

the one i'm on about was actually 'veet'. i can't find anything about it on their website.

It is called Tend Skin see here .

Have always wondered about the soluble aspirin but not had the nerve to try it.
