Good luck with the rodents Squeeze. Sounds like a character.

DS is mardy cos he has a cold and DH is still in bed. I am getting a bit mardy now too.

FlamingoCrimbo · 16/12/2009 11:43

Jet - moving down a 'BMI level' is fantastic! Bloody well done you!

Ok, bras - 34F down to 32E. Very pleased with the band size going down - hadn't expected that. Rather unpleased with the crepey nature of my post-four-pregnancies boobs, but ho hum - war wounds and all that! They've nourished four babies for 6m exclusively, and then for much longer after that too. I guess I shouldn't worry too much about what they look like! DH likes them anyway - they're very soft, he says

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/12/2009 11:45

Jet - just read you going down a BMI level, that is wonderful news.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 16/12/2009 12:05

Well, at my age you worry less about size and texture and more about whether or not your nipples get caught in your belt!!

I have been known to do the 'pencil test' and am pleased to report that, whilst small, they remain pert, if not youthfully so!!

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 12:11

I trip over my nipples on the way to the shower, Mitts.

Flam, size 10 and 32E chest? Wow, you sound like my DH's ideal woman! He loves curvy petite women, he got a 5ft 9" heavyset (though big of breast) one, poor him.

DS2's preschool had a visit from Father CHristmas, was very sweet and for the second time this year have had a little blub to "Away in a Manger" and won not a jot from the raffle. Last time I won a raffle I was 10 and it was a Bucks Fizz LP

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 16/12/2009 12:17

Jet...fabulous, another inspirational lady of the shiney thread. . That is brilliant.

My chest never gets much bigger when I put weight on, but always gets smaller when I lose it. I am presuming if I went underweight I would actually have a see through hole where once were my Boobs, Not sure how attractive that would be but it might serve well as one helluva a party trick.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 16/12/2009 12:19

Huge congrats to Sazz and Lizzy for getting into the 'normal' BMI category!

And also big congratulations to Jet, I am quite envious as I think I'm a long way off from dropping from morbidly obese to merely obese

The 'morbidly' part really freaks me out, I mean I don't feel like I'm going to drop dead any moment from fatness!

Squeezy, sounds like an interesting morning! Glad to hear there are no leaks thus far.

My new oven and hob were installed this morning. They are soooo pretty I don't want to use them. And they look slightly out of place in my manky old orange artex kitchen!

FGM, do you weigh in at a meeting or at home?

Crap, there's DS screaming...was hoping he would nap a bit longer. He really put up a fight having his jabs this morning, the nurse commented on what a strong little lad he is!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/12/2009 12:20

I had mine removed.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/12/2009 12:21

Yank - meeting, usually wednesday nights but can't go this evening so was going to the morning meeting. Had to do a bit of shopping and was feling guilty about leaving DS at nursery. I to am morbidly obese.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 16/12/2009 12:31

Did you Fanny?.. so sorry, I hope that wasn't insensitive of us.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 12:34

Sorry Fanny!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/12/2009 12:45

Oh God no, purely self indulgent went from G or H down to a C, nothing medical at all. DB's partner has though but is very excited as next year her surgeon is going to reconstruct hers using the fat from her tummy.

jinglejet · 16/12/2009 12:45

that must be tough fanny (no idea why everyone calls you fanny as i though you were five

Yankn - for years i refused to call myself even obese, let alone morbidly obese. But, my practice nurse sat with me once, and listed my health complaints - most of which were made worse due to my size. And while she said that one of my conditions would account for my weight problems - i also had to accept responsibility. So i think this is what i am trying to do - but it takes some doing!!

You will get there - small steps and all that. I started on the 1st July, and have lost just under 4 stone since then. Granted i have been taking meds to help with that, but i figure i needed all the help i can get!!

Plus, I didn't even think to check what catagory i was in until i saw sazzles' post - and i am quite surprised at how chuffed i actually feel. I tend to focus on just losing enough each 4 weeks to make sure i get more tablets

jinglejet · 16/12/2009 12:47

ahhhh, i have stopped feeling so guilty now fanny I am sorely tempted to do the same myself - as i wonder what will be left there if and when i get to a sensible weight. I remember reading Fern Britton, who said she has to roll hers up to put in her bra - i have a feeling mine will be like that

jinglejet · 16/12/2009 12:48

kising - me "inspirational"

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 16/12/2009 13:07

Jet..

Shiney, I have e-mailed you, could you see if you could help me out with something ASAP please.

jinglejet · 16/12/2009 13:13

actually, i feel i need to apologise - my posts lately have mostly been of the 'poor me' case - and that must be carp to read

To be honest - things are actually pretty good at the moment

Junior - finally has friends she has invited for tea She is 12, and doesnt mix easily - she is a young 12 due to mild SEN. She has never made friends of her own accord - she will associate with my friends' children, mostly who are 3-4 years younger then her. So, to hear her talk about these 2 sisters from school, one a year younger (typical for junior) and 1 a year OLDER (amazing for junior) i am so chuffed! So, despite me worrying about having strangers in the house, where to find the money for the pizzas she wants etc, i am amazingly happy

Mini - is an absolute star at her pre-nursery group. So much so, the nursery teacher has actually swapped the groups around so she can be in her group!! When she came for the home visit for the forms etc. mini chatted constantly with them, pointing out all the letters of the alphabet she had been learning, and insisting on showing them how to hop! She is so excited to be starting after xmas, and cant wait to go shopping for her uniform!!

So, when reading my 'woe is me' posts - please take them with a pinch of salt.....

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 13:22

Jet, we all have moments when we need to vent!
Glad to hear that Junior and Mini are doing so well, they sound adorable, a testament to you

Off to stock up on some festive treats from....Lidl, just to have a nosy, have only been once before. Apparently they have some good stollen etc, so will have a look.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 13:34

Right, have my question of the day.
What colour is everyone's winter coat?
I am getting some vouchers for Christmas and need some inspiration, DH won't let me get black again

TinselianAstra · 16/12/2009 13:40

My new coat is red. It is this one.

Just had a 'healthy' ready meal for lunch - needed something warm. Feeling rather hungover but more tired than anything else. Luckily so is everyone else so we're all being quiet in the office.

ItsIgginningToLookALotLikeXmas · 16/12/2009 13:43

Lovely to hear all these inspirational stories! I am so so trying to stick to my no chocolate rule over christmas. There will be quality street etc and I can ignore the tin quite happily - but if someone makes me have "just one" I will eat the whole box once they go to bed. Must have some addiction issues, methinks!
Off to check what level of obesity I'm at.
Er no actually off to do some teaching.

ItsIgginningToLookALotLikeXmas · 16/12/2009 13:44

Am loving that coat by the way. Will look good with your hair too (red and dark hair always looks best IMO).

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 13:45

Nice coat, Trills.
I have dark hair too.........
Hmm

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 16/12/2009 13:45

Fun winter coat, icy blue, furry bomber style jacket. My 'hug' coat.

And formal, a beautiful, black cashmere coat that I inherited from my Aunt.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 16/12/2009 13:47

OOH, Mitts, they sound lovely
