People of the world, join hands, join our TOTALly fabulous healthy eating thread.

We are a group of MNetters who wish we lost a pound for every post we have made on this thread since our benevolent leader started her SHINEY threads many, many months ago now.

I am Syc, and I was once deputy although life has slightly got in the way in the last month or so. But, inspired by our recent TOTAL yoghurt bonanza, I'm back and on the wagon.

Join us, we are a friendly bunch but like to waste as many calories as possible through moving our digits very swiftly over the keyboards and posting like women possessed

All denominations here, so whatever way you want to lose weight, maintain or just focus on healthier eating, you will fit right in.

Stay strong Jet, you have more then enough right to put your foot down & have your girls at home with you on Christmas - even more so as they want to be with you too!

I hate the thought of you being on your own Xmas day evening

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 06/11/2009 18:31

Oh, me and you both jet,

I can bump DD's up with stuff from 2nd hand shops and a main pressy but DS is a whole difrent ball game. And I can't suss Freecycle out at all.

bellavita · 06/11/2009 18:32

Jet, you can't be on your own xmas day

TrillianAstra · 06/11/2009 18:34

IMO 'we have more family than you' means they can do without your girls, especially if the girls want to be with you.

jetforkesandbonfires · 06/11/2009 18:35

thanks Norma. For the past 9 years i have been on my own throughout xmas day, as junior and then mini as well would go up on xmas eve. Last year i was painting juniors bedroom on xmas day I got the keys to this house on the monday of xmas week, and then moved in on saturday 27th dec. It was all so rushed and so unorganised that we lived out of boxes for ages, so am really trying to do finishing touches to sitting room ready for putting the tree up

I have all these fab ideas for things we could do at home, such as xmas eve hamper, church xmas day morning, walk after lunch etc.....

I am ok though, a little stressed but not down IYSWIM. Dont want to known as the moaner of the thread

NormaSknockers · 06/11/2009 18:38

You're not moaning, just chatting I would stand firm, the plans you have sound lovely & the girls want to be with you so stick to your guns & have them home with you on Xmas!

jetforkesandbonfires · 06/11/2009 18:38

how old is DS mits? Do you need help sorting Freecycle? mine is fab have given away and also received loads The best one was foam mats that go under sleeping bags. I didnt even realise they existed, but were they were great when sis came down with her 2 boys - tent in garden job

bellavita · 06/11/2009 18:40

For the last 9 years jet...... well I think it is about time they spent the day with you then surely?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/11/2009 18:42

May I come back please? I have been really struggling and didn't want to drag you all down with my rubbishness. Have been having some counselling which has given me a lot to think about regarding my relationship with food, and now I need to implement some of it and I know I will need support!

Jet - you must stand firm, it sounds like it's time for you to create your own xmas traditions etc

jetforkesandbonfires · 06/11/2009 18:43

bella - when ex's mum was alive, everyone went to hers for xmas dinner. I have been split up with ex for 10 years, and though she would invite me, it felt to uncomfortable to go Then last year was the first one since she passed away, so let them go up to get through xmas all together. But, i think you're right - its about time i stopped being a wuss put my foot down and said enough is enough.

Hello Ali

Jet, his family will just have to understand, that for once it is about what your girls want (and you of course)

Hi Ali

NormaSknockers · 06/11/2009 18:50

Jet - I think they've shared enough Christmas' with your girls to stand back & allow you, their mum, to have a Christmas with them!

jetforkesandbonfires · 06/11/2009 18:52

I know you're all right really - but you may need to remind me from time to time

my friend gave me an website addy for forces penpals today, saying that maybe i could cope with a boyf who was away most of the time Opinions please?

NormaSknockers · 06/11/2009 18:54

Jet that made me

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 06/11/2009 18:56

Go for it Jet.... being with you will have it's own magic, you are their mum, it will be fab.

i might need some help with Freecycle, thanks. DS is 11, with expensive tastes lol.

DSS2 has just rang me up... and . He so wants his Dad to be happy and for us to get back together again, I can't tell him what a nightmare it can be. He is really close to his Dad and has never seen him in a drunken rage, Or telling DS that their relationship is too broken to be fixed (only 2 weekends ago). He just thinks of his Dad as sad and lonely and telling DSS how much he loves us all and wants to be part of the family again.

bellavita · 06/11/2009 18:57

When I was 14, unknown to my parents, I answered a BFPO add in the morning newspaper - soldiers wanting girl penpals! I lied about my age and said I was 16. Sent it off. Thought nothing more of it, in fact I completely forgot about it. About 3 months later, my mum was stood at the window looking out for me coming home from school, she was holding up this sack, I still didn't twig. It was only a sack full of mail from soldiers wanting to write to me.....

I picked out three and wrote to them for quite a while and I met one of them. He was from Cheshire.

bellavita · 06/11/2009 18:58

Forgot to say go for it Jet!

NormaSknockers · 06/11/2009 19:00

Bloody hell Bella an entire sack

Mits that sounds rough

jetforkesandbonfires · 06/11/2009 19:02

bella - bet your mum was impressed

are you on fb mits - we can get you sorted with freecycle on there if you want? I went through something similar with junior a few years back, though as she grew older, she realised more and more what her dad was like and that maybe it wasnt such a good idea for us to get back together. I hope your DSS is ok though, it is always hard for the kids

Forgot to say, shiney - thats very kind of you

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 06/11/2009 19:05

lol bella...I bet that was a 'gulp' moment...

bellavita · 06/11/2009 19:06

Yep Norma, my mum wondered what on earth I had been doing.... The one I met, came to stay with us on a few occasions, he was 19. A couple of times he didn't say he was coming home from Germany, he just turned up to surprise me. I also went to stay (with my parents too) at his house, I was about 15 then as I was supposed to be revising for my GCSE's (I left school at 15 due to being an August baby).

Oh Mitts
