Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Two people told me i look like i've lost weight! dont know how i managed that! i've been on the see food diet

Haven't eaten much today though as i have been worried about my Diddy Biddy (little old Nan), shes coming home tomorrow, where she will get plenty of love and spoiling, and she wont have to steal the great grand childrens chocolate because she will have loads of her own

I'm having a glass of wine, its been a tough week

I had holes in my tights when i put them on this morning, so i improvised and wore knee length boots over them

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 08/10/2009 18:23

PMSL Vinny, that is my kind of logic

bellavita · 08/10/2009 18:47

Sausage, mash, mushy peas, green beans, gravy.

2 glasses of red... I now have hiccups!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 08/10/2009 18:54

I have always found wearing tights/stockings with holes in them (little) quite 'naughty' after that strangely delicious scene with Harvey Keitel in The Piano, although I find him personally more strange than delicious.

bellavita · 08/10/2009 18:56

you strumpet you Mitts!!

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 08/10/2009 18:57

Oh Bella, that sounds lovely - the dinner, not the hiccups

Might sound lovely Squeezy (and it was) but not very healthy with all the butter and milk in the potatoes and I had two sausages and a plateful of mash. I just adore mushy peas

BewareTheFullMoon · 08/10/2009 19:03

Personally i dont wear tight as i always put mythumb through them at about thigh level. Hold ups for me are a better bet.

I did get the work done - just but got dissapproving looks about the fact i was truthful on my review form and said there was some collecting to be done to complete task. Wish i'd lied now. This weekend i shall have to be head down and working tons of assignments to do. But will have an easier week next week if i can complete it. so there is a bonus. Plus then i can do a bit more with ds in the evening nxt week if i focus whilst i am ds free this weekend [boring]

I havent been good with my diet i have had 2 chocolate bars today, but i eat them instead of breakfast and lunch so ok calorie wise. I am planning an early night and hopefully will add more vitamins and minerals to my diet. Have been out walking again today and ds now has confidence enough to ride without stablisers on the pavement. Very proud of him.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 08/10/2009 19:07

I love mushy peas too Bella. Do you put vinegar on them? I have vinegar and too much salt.

I would put vinegar on the mushy peas if I was having them with fish and chips - I put it into the little pot that they come in. Sometimes (dh mostly) we will have them poured over a warm pork pie or a meat pie from the butchers and then we will put mint sauce over the top.

hellsbelles · 08/10/2009 19:40

Cheers Vinny - I've got a nice glass here too. As DD is now only breast feeding once a day (in the morning) I figure 1 glass is allowed?!

I'm so so excited about seeing my new baby niece soon - I wish my SIL would hurry up She's been in hospital since about 10ish so we are all on tenterhooks.

BWTFM - it sounds tough going that you have to work all weekend

bellavita · 08/10/2009 19:41

Have just put two chocolate and vanilla marble cakes in the oven. Sooo wanted to lick the bowls, but the ds's beat me to it. There are two separate bowls, one with the chocolate mix in and the other with the vanilla, get this, I have had to put the spoons in the opposite bowls for the boys so they both get a bit of each, otherwise they would end up fighting.

SazZaVoom · 08/10/2009 19:42

Evening all

Been busy here - lovely day tromping round Westonbirt Arboretum in the sunshine kicking leaves and jumping puddles . Did you go to Slimbridge Flamingo? We went to the PYO this avo for the last of the raspberries

OK here food/exercise wise but remaining steadfastly on my blasted plateau

Vinny - your nan sounds like a diamond . Mine had us all in stitches in hospital on her last legs. Thought she was on a boat and wondered how we had got there

Shiney - glad to hear you a bit chirpier. Saw your thread and telling off. Was a classic

Norma - hope DS is ok?

hellsbelles · 08/10/2009 19:46

bella - are you some sort of domestic goddess? Everytime I read this thread you are doing some sort of amazing cooking treat? I would love to be like - just far too lazy!

bellavita · 08/10/2009 19:55

hells, I do like baking, but sadly am no goddess. These cakes are not for us... DH volunteers for a charity in his spare time and there is a coffee morning on Sat and he asked me to make something. Last year I did loads, but I am actually being lazy tonight.

MavisGrind · 08/10/2009 20:06

Hello all - hope everyone is ok - Vinegar your nan sounds lovely, so sorry to hear your news. Norma - everything ok with ds? Slimey - how are you feeling now?

I too had sausage and mash for dinner and have had 2 pieces of toast, butter and marmite and a bowl of choc ice cream since the boys have gone to bed. Stayed at a friends house last night and drank too much red wine so today is one of those I'm-tired-and-I-want-to-eat days. Back on the wagon tomorrow. I've also taken a night off the revising. The information is just not going in - damn baby brain!

Will be better tomorrow. Probably.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 08/10/2009 20:27

It's quiet in here again tonight.....

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 08/10/2009 20:28

Evening all.

Vin your gran sounds wonderful, serene and very cheeky and also accepting. My GF was like that when he was told he was terminal and having given up the drink for quite a number of years took it up again with gusto and enjoyed his remaining months.

Had a busy day today, our Aga is going next week so we are looking at wood burniing stoves to replace it, and as the sun was shining, the dog c=got walked and the garden go burnt. 3 weeks to a new kitchen.

2lbs was lost last night at weigh in, did get into quite a heated argument with our esteemed leader about how many points there were in a bottle of wine, how she thinks that there are 6 175ml glasses in a bottle I have no idea, and she keeps putting on weight.

Tonights supper was scallops, ratatouille and baby roast potatoes.

SazZaVoom · 08/10/2009 20:31

There are 6 125ml glasses in a bottle of wine

Trust me, i am a lush an accountant

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 08/10/2009 20:31

I hope she realised she is wrong 5gomad? Unless she gets special bottles that have exactly 1050mls

Isn't it a bit odd for a weight loss leader, who I guess is supposed to be coaching you, to be putting on weight?

SazZaVoom · 08/10/2009 20:32

Well done on the 2lbs off BTW
