We should be doing this anyway but the news of Kylie made me think again about breast cancer. So please, all go and check your boobs and then post here to say you've done it and keep the thread going so we all see it and all do it.
I don't want anything happening to one of you and if it does catch it early.

Tomcat this thread is perfect for me and i hope you lot are still reading it.

When I heard about Kylie at 8:15am I was on my way to have an ultra sound on my breast to check out a 'mass' found in by the breast clinic several weeks ago. I was in the car with my Dad and he turned the radio off so I didnt hear it all. Think he was worried that it would stress me out. Where as I wanted to listen thinking, hey if worst happens Im not alone!

I was told theres nothing to be imediatly worried about but I think thats made me worse. I need to go back to see consultant for results. Please all of you cross your fingers for me.

Sorry this is a long one!

popsycal · 17/05/2005 20:23

can some one link me to information to check that I am doing it right?

also, with breast feeding, I would be interested to know how to know the difference between normal and abnormal lumps and bumps

good thread Thomcat...lost my nan to breast cancer and a young relation of mine now has breast and other terminals cancers

Blossomhill · 17/05/2005 20:26

Well I have a breast scan on Monday so fingers crossed!

Potty1 · 17/05/2005 20:26

Good luck Louise and you too BH - fingers crossed everything is fine.

Louise1980 · 17/05/2005 20:29

Just a few points I was told about at clinic, you check at the same time every month this way lumps/bumbs that are usually there are there. Best at end of period.

006, as long as the walnuts are all stcuk together thays fine, its any lumps which are not there usaully.

Its harder to self examine after breast surgery.

My consultant told me his motto is if in doubt check it out

Louise1980 · 17/05/2005 20:30

BH it feels really really wierd! It wasnt uncomfortable or painfull but so strange!

wysiwyg · 17/05/2005 20:33

Checked. So sad about Kylie - just goes to show it can occur at all ages.
