Went to GP this morning and NO CANCER

There were NO Growths or TUMORS or slipped disc.

We still don't know what is causing the pain

He is to keep going with Gabapentin and Dicofenac drugs for another month to keep the pain under control

In a months time GP will refer him to Neurologist for further investigation

We are so relieved and the GP was too he has done a good job

THANK YOU FOR SENDING ALL THE POWER OF MUMSNET TO SUPPORT US DURING LAST FEW WEEKS.

YOU GUYS ARE DEFFO BRILL

DH pain is down his leg

He still can't stand up to hold a conversation for any length of time even when on the full dose.

He is a teacher and so has to conduct his classes walking around or sitting on a stool

But at least it is not prostate cancer going on to secondary BONE cancer which is what we were looking at it being last week.

pleased that things sound more positive . It must be such a relief to be able to rule those out. Hope he gets a diagnosis and treatment soon.

that is fantastic It probably is wear and tear I have something similar in my shoulder and it was so bad once I was physically sick and had to come back from holiday I was told it was early osteoarthritis and very common It hurts still but it does vary HTH

Easy · 12/05/2005 13:45

Kanga, great news, it must have been tremendously worrying for you.

I'm sure you have been down this avenue, but has your dh seen an osteopath or chiropractor? Often much better for lower back/leg pain than GP's etc.

Now you've ruled out the VERY serious options, might it be worth seeing one?

RTKangaMummy · 12/05/2005 13:59

The MRI didn't find anything on his bones, pelvis or spine that could cause this amount of pain, there were no trapped nerves either.

We may go to oestopath

we know one who is very good

Friend is going to REIKI him too
