If your hungry eat something, worse thing you can do is let yourself go hungry, have a banana or a sandwich before you go out

Lunch time!

daftpunk · 17/06/2009 12:12

you made me jump then.

what threads do you hang out on?

bellavita · 17/06/2009 12:15

It is a family business, literally. Two brothers, wives, children and Mum and Dad who are retired but still have a lot to do with the purse strings.

My boss, wife and two children want to go on holiday end of July, but of course they need to cover the shifts of 4 people, which is quite hard. They asked if I could do extra shifts as if I couldn't have a big input, then they wouldn't be able to go away. Of course I said yes. I always do extra for them, tis very rare I say no and it is usually because I have guests or DH has a meeting - so I would say 99.9% of the time I do the extra. A while back he asked if I could cover a Saturday night in August, we get back from a long haul flight on the Monday, I am working Tue, Wed and Fri of that week, so I said no, because more than likely I will be tired and it is a big possibility that my parents will be here. I just reminded him last night that I was not able to cover that particular shift and he went mental and said he was fed up of staff not pulling their weight and I arrive back on the Monday into England which gives me nearly a week to catch up . He was going on and on that staff don't care - well most of them don't because they are just kids wanting a bit extra between uni terms and school. He also asked if I could then cover this coming Sunday lunch because his daughter has 12 exams next week, I said no because it is Father's Day and I have my parents here - again, met with a look of disdain.

I need to get another job, a job during the day, a job in an office,, with no late nights.

He seems to forget that the other staff don't have families, I do and I look after the house, kids DH and then go to work. Why should I give up my Sunday?

and breathe......

I hate jobs like that Bella, where they think that you exist entirely for their convenience. They pick up on every time you say 'no' without ever recognising the huge number of times you say 'yes'.

Shiney if boring date man is coming over for lunch what are you going to feed him? Not Quorn fillets I hope! Hope you feel better in time for it.

Bellavite - what an arse he is for you

TTM - why don't you eat something healthy. No point letting your blood sugar drop, it will be counter productive.

VinegarTits · 17/06/2009 12:32

Maybe he is embarassed about eating in front of you, some people are shy like that?

mmmm my lunch was yum, going to have a banana and lots of water now, keep me going till i fall off the wagon and give into cakes again tea time

mistlethrush · 17/06/2009 12:51

Shiney - does he know that you're feeling rough - always better to be open about that sort of thing. The fact that he hasn't swept you off your feet and into bed on your first date isn't necessarily a bad thing perhaps he is one of those few men who might want a relationship which might include sex at a later date rather than sex, possibly followed by a relationship.

daftpunk · 17/06/2009 12:53

shineon...i might have missed some posts... do you like him?

bellavita · 17/06/2009 13:05

Thanks for your support girls

Have just waded through a huge plateful of stirfry, god it took some chomping. But at least I am full

FairMidden · 17/06/2009 13:18

On the edge of my seat here shiny, sneak us an update eh?

Sorry your boss is such a git bella. Maybe you could tell him that as you are already covering X, Y and Z dates for him it unfortunately isn't convenient to do these others. Just to remind him how much you do help him out.

My specs have broken so I'm going round with a bit of blutac stuck to my face and I can't get to the optician for at least 10 days, not that I can afford to buy new ones anyway! And bugger, DS is yelling. He's refusing to sleep. Much like he refused to sleep all night last night

Better go and find some way to entertain the little brute darling. Possibly via the cake shop

flamingobingo · 17/06/2009 13:43

Hellooooooo.

Shiney - are you with your man? Thinking of you wandering amongst gravestones together pondering the meaning of life

Bella - that is sooooooo irritating! I bet they don't help you out when you need it either. on your behalf.

TTM - welcome

Just got back from therapy - think the anti-ds are a good decision, regretfully.

VinegarTits · 17/06/2009 14:42

Hows is his body language? does his replicate yours (i.e if you cross your legs, he crosses his) cos that means he fancies you

I would quite like a guy who didnt want to jump me straight away, its would be a refreshing change

VinegarTits · 17/06/2009 14:47

I have just been offered a bag of walkers crisps

help!

flamingobingo · 17/06/2009 14:47

What if he's on christiansnet saying

"Well I popped in for an hour. We had a nice chat and it was all very, well, nice. Like you all suggested, I did mention that although my faith is important to me, I didn't go around trying to convert people, which seemed to please her.

I like her but not in a mad fancying way - although that is kinda hard when we spoke for half an hour on religion and she started humming ' Onward Christian Soldiers. '. Hardly conducive to grand passion, is it?

Still no attempt to snog me. Hmmmm."

Give him one more try and snog him yourself
