For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

banana dispatched.

I do indeed have an orange, moveit. Will I eat one or does onion count if it was in a (home made) meatloaf and in teh (home made) chickpea sauce?

Receipe by teh adorable jamie oliver

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:13

I have already had a glass of juice today, fran. Don't you knwo the rules?

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:14

2 onions between four people. Reckon I ate two thirds of an onion as the dds are not big on sauces

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:21

hello fox! I am scrolling down this impossibly long thread trying to find an example of a respected vegger listing onion (no kidding) and I came across your enquiry re dd2's skin.

Her back has been awful this week. We are well and truly back on steroids. Still off dairy but we will have reached 6 weeks come next Friday. I bought myself a butter dish yesterday . It's a shame but there you go. There's no dairy connection.

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:22

aha! molls has listed onion before

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:24

orange juice
grapes
spinach (lovely little pies)
houmus
lettucey salad with beans and tomato
tomatoes
onion
broccoli
more grapes
banana

10! Hot dog!

foxinsocks · 24/05/2009 21:25

ah pointy, I'm sorry to hear that but I'm sure you'll both be relieved when you can add dairy back in again!

I wonder why it's so bad on her back because that seems to me quite an unusual place to get it (compared to normal eczema flash points). Poor dd.

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:25

two thrids of an onion sounds a bit measly though

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2009 21:26

sorry pointy the rules clearly state one medium onion is a portion, as linked to in OP

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2009 21:27

just kidding

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:29

yes, it is an unusual place. She doesn't get it in the usual places much at all. For the last year + it has focused on her back, shoulders, neck, face, spreading round to her nipples and chest.

We have moved to simple hair products (neck/back connection) but frankly, we have never been able to make any connection at all and on top of all that, it doesn't really irritate or itch dd2 at all, even when it looks incredibly red and painful. (Not that the doctors have ever believed us.) Which is a blessing really.

It has always been very odd.

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:30

franny, you card.

I will eat an orange as well because there is a finger of doubt (my own finger)

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:31

we are going to an italian restaurant for a big family meal next weekend. dd2 already has her buttery, cheesy order in mind

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2009 21:32

there was a finger
you have eliminated the finger
well done
ta dahhhhhhhhhhh

now pick your title

(sorry about dd's back btw)

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:33

(I got cross about eczema on another thread, fox. In a silly way )

foxinsocks · 24/05/2009 21:34

how odd about not irritating her (well blessing really)...

lol at buttery and cheesy. Think I'd be eyeing up a huge bowl of ice cream too! You did bloody well getting to 6 weeks you know!

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:35

huzzah! (orange beside me, I will eat it pronto)

I'll stick with tenpole tudor

Guava, guava, guava yeah!
Over the dill go the strawbs of a thousand men

Feel free to arrange and capitalise as you will

FairLadyRantALot · 24/05/2009 21:35

huhu...sorry, not been around in ages and well....what can I say....I just not been eating as well as I should be, sigh.....life just gets in the way sometimes ....

will try better again...must try...

anyway hope all is well with everyone....

foxinsocks · 24/05/2009 21:36

oh nooo, tell me pointy

I don't have enough time to monitor the threads like when I wasn't working so can't maniacally jump on threads when I see posters I like getting cross.

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:37

the non-itching is unusual, yes. For a short while, the consukltant accepted we might be telling the truth and did tests for skin cancer, such is their reluctance to believe it.

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:39

no, it was stupid wine-induced cross, fox. Just thought you might have seen it and am sort of apologising.

foxinsocks · 24/05/2009 21:42

was it recent? will look for it. Cor woman, you don't need to apologise to me. Unless you said fox is a beaaatch of the highest order in which case, right back at you girl .

pointydog · 24/05/2009 21:43

I let myself down
