Look there realy is no need to be embarrased or let this affect your life. I did for far too long and one day I just thought I am not going to live like this. I now wear a kind of nappy sometimes because of a long standing and incurable urinary problem.

There are lots of great incontinence products out there to help and if you have these kinds of problems go and see your GP and find out what the best product for you is. I also went in the local chemist and a really lovely lady took me into a quiet room and dscussed the whole issue with me and was really helpful. She knows me now and orders stuff for me.

Don't delay, get it sorted, start enjoying life again.

Comment to a message made earlier - tablets (Vesicare mentioned but there are others) can really help with overactive bladder (the urge/frequency thing). They won't help stress incontinence but if you have even urge and stress leakage they're worth a shot!

Sugarmagnolia, I hope your appointment with the GP went OK and that you were able to "get it all out" as it were. After all the indignities of pregnancy and childbirth, you'd think we'd not be embarrassed by anything anymore, but hey, I know I am! ditto earlier comments that it's worth getting help (which you are ) and not letting it rule your life. Even if you can't completely solve the problem, there are products and advice that can help improve quality of life, which I know was not aware of until going down the GP, then physio and urology referrals route.

I was suffering from little leaks too, perma I would suddenly need to go NOW, start scuttling towards the loo and it would be starting to come out and I couldn't hold it in! I was thinking I really ought to go and see my doctor, but never quite getting round to it, being really embarrassed, (but really not wanting to end up a piddly old smelly lady) when I happened to see an item on This Morning, with three women in their late teens and twenties and they had it too!

Instead of just being told to do pelvic floor exercises which I thought would happen to me, I found out that there was medication, so I plucked up courage and saw my doctor. I am now on Detrusitol, which for me is one x 1mg tablet a day. It tightens up the neck of your bladder if you have urge incon*!(hate that word...) and it has worked!!
