Following on from that other thread , here is somewhere we can discuss our less than perfect fanjos and swap tena lady anecdotes.

Suwoo I have VV down there too .

When I wasn't pg I fell on my bum at my sisters wedding and ended up with a wet patch on the back of my bridesmaid dress.

Spent the next hour in the ladies drying it with and spraying it with perfume telling everyone who asked that a small child had walked into me with a drink .

suwoo · 21/04/2009 13:11

Oh no, comewhine, thats awful- how embarrasing.

OP posts:
Comewhinewithme · 21/04/2009 13:16

That will teach me for thinking I could still moonwalk .

suwoo · 21/04/2009 13:21

at the moonwalking bridemaid dribbling piss.

I can't believe you let me think that it was a small child that had weed on the floor on Sunday. It was you!

suwoo · 21/04/2009 16:59

. Nope I was ok, was wearing my special panty liners. Had you have caught me in the night whilst attending to DS and not wearing knickers, it would be a different matter..........

Suwoo Do they advise against vaginal delivery of baby, if you have prolapse?

Divvy · 22/04/2009 11:22

bump

hennipenni · 22/04/2009 15:02

Divvy, the incontinence issue around the time that your period is due is due to your hormones altering and affecting your pelvic floor and the tone of your urethral wall. (remember this from an incontinence study day years ago in my former life)

Divvy · 22/04/2009 18:54

Ah thanks. Well I was brave, and went and got myself checked by the doctor. I have quite a bad bladder prolapse. So been refered to gynae. I will maybe not have the op yet, as I am not in pain with it.

Would I be a virgin like again?

I am 32 and am doing my pelvic floor exercises like crazy at the moment after the birth of my second baby. They helped banish the 'trickle of warm piss as soon as you think you've finished, wiped yourself and stood up' scenario last time around. I have not yet familarised myself with Tena Lady.

suwoo · 22/04/2009 21:36

Divvy, it was one of the main reasons I had a section with DS and will be having one with DS2.

My gynae suggested it and as my prolapse is already third degree procidentia, she didn't want it to worsen.

It happened after the birth of my 1st child 7 years ago.

Do the tena coasters work as good as the pads?

Divvy · 23/04/2009 08:35

Thanks Suwoo

I am wondering the same thing PD, as now have been made offical, wonder if I should use the right things for it!

DuffyFluckling · 05/05/2009 10:30

Wait. Wait!

How do you do a handstand whilst having a wee?

Don't you get wee up your nose?

zimzam · 13/05/2009 13:33

I'm so glad to have found this thread as was feeling quite alone about my 'problem'.
I'm considering having the TVT op but wondered what happened to those of you who became pregnant afterwards.
Also, do any of you suffer any side effects like the urgency thing?

LittleWonder · 16/05/2009 16:05

I had the TVT op and it has been wonderful. For the first few weeks if felt as if the pee only trickled out when I went to the loo - I thought that would always be the case, but now everything is normal, no more leaks. I HIGHLY recommend TVT to all those who can have it.

zimzam · 18/05/2009 16:36

How long did you have to take it easy for? I've been told 4-6 weeks but that's going to be hard given I have a 3yr old and a 5yr old!

elsiepiddock · 18/05/2009 17:54

at this thread. It's such a common and awful problem.

My bladder is definitely compromised since the birth of my large ds1. I am relatively lucky in that I can run, play tennis or go on the trampoline with no leaks, but I always have to have a wee before I do any exercise.

I bet if men had babies, there would be loads of immediate therapy post childbirth, (isn't that the case in France?)

LittleWonder · 19/05/2009 17:25

Sorry zimzam for delay- it's not that you have to take it THAT easy - the surgery is very minor - well worth it.

NellieNervous · 20/05/2009 19:24

Hi all!
I am joining your ranks. Prolapse and fibroids (giant uterus - slated for hysterectomy by Sept latest - I hope!)
I had some problems after baby 1 (giant head, lots of pushing!) and after baby 2, (even more giant head) tons of problems, including major prolapse when he was 5 weeks old.

I had TVT surgery and vaginal reconstruction. It was amazing for a while, but things have deteriorated again. Luckily (?) it's coincided with fibroid-related heavy bleeding (every 2 weeks - the thrill!), so my request for a hysterectomy is being granted in a very sympathetic way by Guys/St Thomas team.

I am v interested in people's views on Tena Lady. I started buying it about a year ago and think it's fab - esp the thin ones. I feel no shame anymore buying, but then again, not trying to pull the lad/lady at my local Boots.

hope all will find a permanent solution to this misery and humiliation, but in the meantime, Tena has my vote!
xx
nellie

NellieNervous · 20/05/2009 19:28

ZimZam
The docs were very adamant that I had 'completed my family' before my TVT, but perhaps that's because it was combined with vag reconstruction *ie tightening all round) to keep uterus from falling further down (with some other (eventual, after healing) benefits for me and DH!

Good luck - my recovery was long, but partly due to naughty bladder not passing test, so was in for 7 days and went home with a catheter for a week (horrid humiliation, esp changing to giant 'night bag' and the time I leaked badly at a soft play area!)
xx

hey i am 22 and having 'problems' 12 weeks after dd birth am frantically doing pevic floors everywhere! and also find myself buying random things i dont need just to put ontop of the tena lady box as i pass to the cashier! which i admit is pointless haha

straight after birth i had no control of my bladder whatsoever an had to stay in hospital for longer ( which was really sad seeing all other mums getting to take their newborns home after 24 hours!

now is better probably bit more than stress incontance as cant cough, laugh, sneeze or jump. worst is if i walk for longer than 10mins.
i was wondering if any1has tried the products you can buy from boots eg that do your pelvic floors for you. prblem i have is that im never sure im actually doing them properly!

pinkcake22 · 22/05/2009 15:17

also haha at title of thread. i have ulcerative colitis which is also not fun at all. to have both of these problems u really need to have a good sense of humour!!!
