For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Well done Guad. Mits, please remember to take care of yourself.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/04/2009 07:37

Do you need some FOCUS SB? Or maybe some recipes for inspiration? I can't say I've ever eaten molasses. It reminds me of horses and cooking.

Wonderful news LR It's good to see you celebrated with a Higgidy pie, that made me

Many thanks for the sunblock suggestions. On the whole I will be keeping Baby Lemur out of the sun, but there are times when it's a bit tricky so I will have to slip slap slop.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 22/04/2009 07:37

Can I just get this out of my system? it is going around my head for a thread title..

we had pak-choi and currant buns, we had raisins in the sun.....

there, now I can have some inane tv theme going round instead...

TigerFeet · 22/04/2009 08:26

Morning

Mitsu how crap of the surgery, I can kind of see their logic but they could have found another, less scary way of getting hold of you. Good luck with parentline and ds.

Hurrah LittleRach, what great news

DD's op went well but she had a bit of an adverse reaction to the anaesthetic, she really struggled to come round and was quite unwell. We had to let her sleep it off and she was given an antiemetic, then she was fine. We didn't get home until nearly 9 o'clock, we were all geared up to stay in but when she did that small child thing where they suddenly feel better and go from zero to 1,000,000mph we were told we could go if we wanted... I think it took us approx 10 seconds to pack up and get out of there . She is a bit sore this morning but otherwise fine.

I felt so awful, putting her through that for what is essentially a cosmetic procedure, but it is for the best. Her squint was really quite pronounced and I think it would have eventually led to problems with her peers and general public wankerishness. It's too early to tell how effective the op has been but her eyes do look straighter.

May I borrow portions from those of you who had more than 10 yesterday? I didn't manage a single one

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 22/04/2009 08:52

TF...so pleased your DD is doing well,

Not just cosmetic really, as her mental wellbeing is just as important as her physical wellbeing, so good for you...

Kids are odd. If I buy bananas, they wont eat them, but if I go and buy myself one that fits my very high banana specifications the little devils fruit eating darlings pinch it.

And then complain that they weren't quite ripe enough...!

Tatties · 22/04/2009 10:44

Morning

TF I didn't realise your dd was having an op yesterday. I am glad it went ok in the end.

littlerach · 22/04/2009 14:30

Pleased it went ok, Tigerfeet.

TT is off to the vets he has been sneezing lots

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 22/04/2009 15:05

Awwww...poor Timmy..

bunny recovering vibes..>

(actually, that bought a tear to my eye )

littlerach · 22/04/2009 15:15

He is v cute when sneezing htough.

According to a rabbit forum some of them sneeze loads and as long as they are eating and weeing (baby similiarity again!) then they are ok.

ahundredtimes · 22/04/2009 15:16

The sneezing bunny is making you cry?

He might be allergic LR. JJ has nose medicine. I tell you these pets If it's clear then he might be allergic to the bedding or pollen or something. Rabbits with hayfever. Who knew? Hope it works out.

On this diet I have discovered the delights of tinned salmon. It's delicious. Nobody ever told me tinned salmon was delicious. Also dh is accessorizing this diet, it is one of his fads. Is slightly better than the hill walking fad.

BUT he has bought a cookery book lectern. Who the hell has a stand for their cookery books? It's odd and WRONG. I might need to do a thread about it.

I can pretty much guess which of you is going to come on now and say 'Oh I have a cookery book lectern, it's v. useful'.
