Metronidazole- anyone taken this?

I have been given this antibiotic and i feel like crap. Absolutly shattered, nauseua havent eaten all day but dont feel hungry and worse still very confused and forgetful - have just had my daughters birthday party kept forgetting peoples names and then forgot to pay-whoops. Has anyone else had side effects from this medicine?

Other options for BV include Balance Activ and clindamycin gel.

This is my 4th day on metronidazole.. And I feel like complete crap!.
has anyone else felt completely disoriented.. exhausted.. Now energy and headaches? I feel horrible!

Hi sophiee05 I have been on them since Wednesday and I feel shocking. Im being treated for gastro problems and feel worse for taking these tablets. My drdid prescrprescribe me with anti sickness tablets which do work after a while. But I feel worse for it. Lossof apappetite too now which I didn't have before taking these.

I'm pretty sure this is what I was given intravenously when I had pancreatitis. Shortly after I was given it my eyesight changed - I am short sighted but, after the antibiotic, I couldn't see anything close up but my distance vision was fine! When I told the nurse she said that couldn't happen and it was because I was crying!

I felt sea-sick and had to keep holding my tummy which helped abit. Also lost half a stone in weight due to going to loo every 2 hours.

This carried on for 5 days after finishing the course too.
I also say I am allergic to it now and will never take it again.
Was prescribed by the dentist for tooth infection.

God Ive just been prescribed this to take for rosacea.

I have taken it twice. For infected wisdom tooth and (shudder) a womb infection after DC1.

I have to say I was fine with it, although don't touch a single drop of alcohol!

I am on this at the moment due to having a dental absist and i and allegic to pennacillin, my god am i suffering with the side effects. Filling sick (not actually sick), i love my food but i just cannot eat always full, ringing ears (feels like i have an ear infection), headaches/migrans (im 120 kg and its pit me on the floor alot in these 2 days), hulluccination very scary at night or in dark but when on this medication light is not your best friend and finally constipation and diahydration. The best thing if you dont like water. You will in this medication. BUT WITH ALL THE NEGATIVE SIDE THERE IS SOME GOOD ITS FAST ACTING STOP MY DENTAL PAIN IN A DAY SO THAT THE +++++ SIDE OF IT. BUT I HAVE ANOTHER 7 DAYS OF IT CAUSE I HAVE TO GINISH THE COURSE SO EVRYBODY PRAY FOR ME THERES MEXT FEW HORRIBLE DAY LOL. BUT THIS POST IS NOT TO PUT PEOPLE OFF SO I HOPE EVERYONE WHO TAKES THIS DOES NOT SUFFER LIKE ME

Prescribed by a dentist - one dose led to a horrendous headache and very sick. Sought second opionin the next day and advised to discontinue use. I did.

Make sure that you take probiotics in the form of tablet/food eg live yogurt to replenish the good bacteria.

Late to post I know but after being put on Metronidazole for suspected BV ( Bacterial Vaginosis) I never want to touch an antibiotic again, I took one dose of the 400mg tablet, and I ended up in hospital, sent home from work, feeling so sick, my head has been banging for 24hrs. I can’t sleep and my whole body feels like it’s going to give up on me.. any ideas as to how long this will last...
