For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I did swimming ,and swamm 32 lengths, and then cancelled it out by standing at the vending machine eating chocolate AND crisps and strange powdery watery hot chocolate. dd2 can swim underwater without her armbands, she's like a fish-girl.

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 14:16

Mmm, crisps.

I am in a prison of points. It's quite refreshing though, strangely.

BBBee · 27/02/2009 14:51

hello

what is guad talkign about points? what points? weight watcher points? instead of sticker points?

goodness, i turn my back for one second and you change the rules.

my sister keeps telling me to drop my carbs and up my protein.

I am doing well, not listing but lots of vegetables.

well done and bad done boco.

(am in fatty section BTW)

ahundredtimes · 27/02/2009 15:06

Molly - where is your thread on getting a dog? I have loads of opinions on this.

Hello.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:07

veg has been eaten, quite a lot but I can't keep track, all sorts of things are happening

I have finally nailed why I find dh so maddening when we disagree and it's to do with passive aggressive -- so I put this to him and he said oh I suppose squiffybananamuffin or some other woman on mn put you up to this

me: splutter splutter splutter
because it was, I had never heard of this thing before

hope you are all well, I will read when my jobs are done

(am in thickening midriff section)

I am older than you all even Avi I think. I am so old.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:08

hello 100
i had to splutter my way off that thread muttering about falling standards
am so fucking old

ahundredtimes · 27/02/2009 15:12

Nah you were quite right, I felt sorry for the teacher though. Misguided sympathy I think. Probably. Again.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:14

you softie

am hard

isn't your launch coming up next week? is there a party

ahundredtimes · 27/02/2009 15:15

God, I'm so not soft I don't think. But everyone was SO outraged, and other people's outrage does that to me. Is contrary. I could NEVER live in Tunbridge Wells. Imagine!

Yes, is soon.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:19

Hope it goes well for you. Just think, you could be in a Sunday supplement soon. Zut alors.

The fireworks are bad tonight. Like bombs in the back garden.

ahundredtimes · 27/02/2009 15:21

Is there a festival? Do they make you jump? Are you still managing to get your dc to bed at 6.00? Are they happy there? Are you happier? How is the sterilizing going? Will it get better? Are you and dh arguing because everyone under pressure in new environment?

Stuffit. I have SO MANY questions.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:28

it's a wedding, there is a wedding every night

the fireworks last all evening and night ..we went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and had to leave as they got married at midnight and the children were floundering

oh boy yes pressure we got pressure -- but we can't complain because, you know, you look out of the car window and it dies in your throat. I can't see Slumdog because it's right there, all the time.. I should be tougher but I don't want or need to see that movie.

Come and visit . Osba and Womble said yes and I'm putting Toot in a carry on.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:30

Actually it's fine. But you feel guilty if you're unhappy and you feel guilty if you're happy. So at some point you just have to decide to accept the guilt and get on with things.

womblingalong · 27/02/2009 15:32

Yes Stuffit, why the fireworks? How are you, you seemed a bit stressed yesterday on he sailing thread?

I have had raisins, dates, pineapple.

15 mins brisk walking, and am going running later, think I will have a look at the couch potato prog too, as my friend has signed me up for race for life.

ahundredtimes · 27/02/2009 15:37

Yes, take your guilt and accept it. Feeling guilty doesn't make poverty disappear.

Also you know when your mother used to say 'finish your tea, think of the starving children in Africa' - well it never made the tea more appetizing did it? It didn't mine.

You ARE allowed to feel homesick, pressurized, unadventurous miserable and failing - looking out the window doesn't make all those things go away, I don't think the world works like that - it's what's happening to you too. Not that you are any of those things of course, I am merely and probably inaccurately reading between the lines. I get the sense you are disappointed in yourself for some reason, for finding it hard perhaps, despite knowing the country, being well-travelled etc. I think it's very usual and acceptable, and you know it'll get easier, but it is allowed in the meantime, and it doesn't make you spoilt or an ingrate. Hope not too far off-beam here

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 15:38

hi womble! yes I was stressed all over mn, I wanted to jump into the computer and say FFS to everybody and tell them they were all wrong about everything
