For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Is there nobody else here?

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:18

Lemur

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/01/2009 09:19

I'm here!

I walked round with popcorn in my bra for the most of yesterday An ample bosom and feeding bra are great recepticles for lost crumbs

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:19

Don't know about family completeness. For me it was incessant broodiness until after dc4 was born. Quite nice not feeling broody any more. Sort of peaceful.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/01/2009 09:23

I know I can't make a decision with ds being so young (18weeks) cos I'm still in the haze/fug that is a new baby.

Oh, four children. How lovely I like the romantic notion of having a big brood, but I'm not sure about the practicalities You must be one busy lady.

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:25

Unfortunately I am crap at it. It seems all washing and picking things up off the floor and endless bloody demands for food atm.

New baby haze is lovely. Enjoy it. You may develop immunity later

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:26

Sorry, that all sounded rather negative didn't it

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:27

Just train them early or you will spend your entire life walking from kitchen to sofa and back with food/drink/empty cups and plates/discarded clothing and shoes. And being moaned at for being too slow.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/01/2009 09:32

I am very big on independance and manners (ask my niece and nephew who get a bit of a shock when I look after them ) so I am hoping the early training won't be a problem!

I bet you're not crap at it at all. Boring chores don't exactly excite and enthuse one do they? Your yomps up hills sound fab

TooTicky · 18/01/2009 09:40

A lemur with attitude. I like that

I think I used to be better, but sometimes it's easier just to do things than fight.

i don't like raw onion

i couldn't eat cooked onions until i was about 22! i was very fussy child

erm i think i am tallest vegger am i? did we establish that? can't remember
i am nearly 5 ft 10

i am going to gym in a bit

am happy to lend playful parenting to a vegger if it comes back again

i can't bear to think i will not have another baby
but you see i don't do small age gaps really
and am 37
and dp is finished
and our house is a bit cosy for 5

hmmmm

FrannyandZooey · 18/01/2009 10:22

avi i was stunned by how UP it was
but in a kind of stealth way
he doesn't really show his hand till near the end when he says "i have never seen anyone punished into being good". it's the best book i've read for ages, i think. i really liked it. and him.

I didn't realise your DS was quite so young lemur awwwwwww!

Watch that tea toot.

I WAS 5' 10'',

Can my H borrow your book Fra? On second thoughts it would probably not be a 'good idea' I love the 'i have never seen anyone being punished into being good'. And of course our children are developing bad manners, they are being lead by a bad example. I get told to 'shut it' because they do in one way or another.
But why oh why is it the negative parenting that gets mimicked and not the positive?

39 and my broody days are over.....just get horny now Rofl....

I like peas, especially mushy ones, with grated cheese.

It is a fabulous day.

I am going to go and enjoy it..

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/01/2009 13:37

Can I have a 1st place sticker as I am just over 5' 10". Can I, can I, can I?

We've just had lunch and as the day is so glorious we are off out for a walk. We're lucky enough to have a stately home with lots of grounds in our village.

Book sounds good Franny, I would like to borrow it some time if that is ok. I've got a copy of Raising Boys if anyone is interested in borrowing it. Just ask and I'll send it

mollyroger · 18/01/2009 13:41

ah fuckit. I was trying to hold out til february, but Dh has manflu, I have been stuck in the house for 3 days entertaining the boys and I MISS YOU bunch of reprobate, mango-masticators!!!

Fallen off the wagon after a mere 20 days. I can't give anything up

Anyhooo...
Bananas
Porridge with linseed and blueberries
Asian noodle soup (sweetcorn, packchoi, chilli, mushrooms)
and roast belly pork with - apples, red cabbage, green beans, sweet potato, broccolli and carrots.)
I make that 12.

5ft 6'' here....

TinyWhiteFeather · 18/01/2009 14:09

ok molly, are you a namechanger that I can not figure out (although your posting style has a familiar ring to it) or an oldie pre me joining or am I having a senior moment and you have been here all along?

I am trembling.

Pear,
banana,
juice
tomatoes,

am making soup shortly (spiced tomato and sweet potato).

BIRD ALERT.....BIRD ALERT....BIRD ALERT

Got out for a run, not brill, I was too tired really, BUT. It is an amazingly fantastic day and I got on the moors and sort of walk/ran. Oh lord, the views are amazing and although I am out almost daily I never get tired of it.
The Little Grebes are starting to forage for nesting and when the water is clear you can see them swimming under the water.

Loads of walkers about, the meadow full of roaring rugby players, and birds darting between the hedgerows.
The pre spring atmosphere is almost tangible and running through the woods was so peaceful and calm, the whole of the rest of the world seemed to cease to exist and I could almost have stepped into heaven.

Deep contented sigh.

I hope you all have moments like that..

mollyroger · 18/01/2009 14:16

This is my piratey name change (but I do post under this name occasionally).
