For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 21:13

sorry it's dull but anyone know about this

pinkspottywellies · 04/01/2009 21:17

Thanks, I'll see if I can get it from the library Fran.

SuperBunny · 04/01/2009 21:18

Has Franny changed that baby yet?

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 21:21

yes!
well no
dp did it

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/01/2009 21:23

F&Z - without taking the chart into consideration, in your heart of hearts do you think there is a problem?

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 21:24

NO

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 21:26

i think i just second guess myself a bit since ds2 was in hospital
i feel my instincts let me down a bit - i knew he wasn't feeding properly but i let it go on
i think he is fine but when i see his weight has gone from 98th to 50th centile i think 'is my smugness (again) preventing me from seeing there is a problem?'

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/01/2009 21:26

Pink - I co slept with ds for the 1st six weeks and kicked dh into the spare bed as I didn't trust him to not roll onto ds. Co-sleeping defo made life easier for us all. After 6 weeks I was keeping him awake and vice versa so he went into a cot (he had outgrown his moses basket).

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/01/2009 21:30

That little devil on sitting on our shoulders has a lot to answer for doesn't it?!

Have you got a bf only weight chart? They are steeper to start off with, but level out a lot earlier than the standard chart in the red book. I've got a copy of the bf only chart if that is any help to you?

Strange you should mention weight, we weighed ds tonight and he is 7.2kg

pinkspottywellies · 04/01/2009 21:31

Sorry Guad due on the 21st of Feb but I think he'll be late!

FrayedKnot · 04/01/2009 21:40

Pink I wish I had properly co-slept with DS. We did a kind of muddled starting off in crib, then back in crib after first feed, then into bed after second because I couldn;t be bothered, then I would wake up at 5 and he would still be there

pinkspottywellies · 04/01/2009 21:45

I'll go to the library tomorrow and order that book. Just tried online but have lost my PIN but I know they have it.

Right speaking of tired, I'd better go to bed. DH back at work tomorrow so 6.30 starts again. Oh joy.

SuperBunny · 04/01/2009 21:49

FK, that's how I co-slept. Not sure what will happen if we ever get to stage where we have separate bedrooms - I can't imagine DS liking that very much. When I put him to bed, he always says, "You WILL sleep here, won't you mummy?" and pats 'my' side of the bed.

FrayedKnot · 04/01/2009 21:53

Hmm pink that reminds me. I bloody hate the 6.30 alarm.

FrayedKnot · 04/01/2009 21:56

SB, DS would have DH out of the bed in a second and install himself, if he thought he could get away with it.

NotanOtter · 04/01/2009 22:22

dreading the early starts here too

ok

clementine
rocket
pumpkin seeds
carrot
cucumber/tomato 1/2 portion each

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 22:43

yup 6.20 we start here

pink if you can't find it i have one here, can easy post it to you

nao veg better than fruit on the whole although agree minching it hard work
why can't you eat it? can you drink juice? smoothie? baked fruit? dried fruit?

moveit yes please
he is 24 weeks
something like 7.75kg
about 72 cm

FrannyandZooey · 04/01/2009 22:44

sorry to impart this but seeds while very wholesome are NOT veg
nor are nuts

ahundredtimes · 04/01/2009 22:45

Is that what you were on about before Fra? About Bee? I didn't understand what you meant, and now there was a thread and I didn't go on it. I feel bad about it. Not that I imagine I'd have made a helpful contribution.

hey, that Lupe. She's can sure spell can't she?

ahundredtimes · 04/01/2009 22:46

Nao - I'm quite impressed by all the vegetables. Fruit is easier I find. Also it'll be summer soon [glass half full emoticon] and then there will peaches and strawberries and all manner of loveliness.

So that's nice.

ahundredtimes · 04/01/2009 22:49

We get up at 6.30 too.

Right, I've exhausted myself with this flurry of posts now. Also worried about the red circling things with those huge wings made of skin, horrid stretchy skin so you can see their little weird bones and veins and stuff. [shudders] I actually look at birds and all I see are the ptedor, the tero, the pterd - those things that Lupe spelt well.

The other day was in town with BIL and family, and we'd bought some incredibly healthy lunch to eat by the river, was not even slightly shaped like a pasty - and ALL THESE PIGEONS CAME OVER. And they were TAME. And I KICKED one and guess what - I ACTUALLY FELT IT WITH MY BOOT. IT DIDN'T MOVE. I KICKED IT RIGHT IN ITS PLUMP CREEPY THROBBING CHEST.

Actually, this is freaking me out. I have had to stand up.

Good night LOL

I don't know how we will cope. We got up at 11am today and ds2 had only been jumping around for half an hour or so.

We have to get up before 8am tomorrow. I can't believe we will do it.
