Have taken 2 pills and am expecting my beard to drop out and for me to have perfect skin by Xmas
What realistically can I expect?

Come join the PCOS thread. There were some ladies in the past who had taken dianette.

in my experience it doesn't work and if it does they only let you take it for a year

GrimmaTheNome · 19/12/2008 17:43

It dealt with my acne, but after a year I realised it was making me depressed, which can be a side-effect. Have been on Marvelon since then which has suited me fine.

Grump Why do they only let you take it for a year if it does work? Are there alternatives?
The pill you are on Marvelon, does that treat hairyness etc?

I have been on it for longer and I love it, seriusly much better skin, am a bit plumper (increased appetite) but do not care!

Oh I loved Dianette when I was on it, had lovely clear skin and sorted out hairiness. Also am now discovering, probably kept Endometriosis at bay.

I only had acne as a visible symptom of PCOS not hairiness so I don't know whether marvelon deals with that or not. Just an alternative to consider if D. doesn't suit you - it may be fine for you though.
