WideWebWitch · 17/03/2005 20:13

0845 4647 I think

Gobbledigook · 17/03/2005 20:13

Have you given her Calpol or Ibuprofen? We were told if it goes 40 or over you can give both together but just try Calpol first or Calprofen. And yes, ring NHS direct just to be safe.

strip her down to pants, sponge her with tepid water, give her calpol, and plenty of fluid to drink.

Temp strips are not v. accurate, btw, but better than nothing...

Does she have any spots?

lucykatie · 17/03/2005 20:14

SHE IS ILL....REALLY LETHARGIC, RED EYES,COMPLANING OF BED BACK.

HOT TO TOUCH BUT SHE SAYS SHE IS FREEZING.

GIVEN HER NUROFEN ALREADY.

nhs direct will only ring you back after asking questions - do you have an out of hrs gp service?

WideWebWitch · 17/03/2005 20:14

That is right no. Agree with everyone else, Calpol, strip down, dab her with tepid (NOT COLD) water and take temp again in half an hour.

WideWebWitch · 17/03/2005 20:15

Oh, she's 5, so I think they're less worried about febrile convulsions at that age (that's what my dr told me when ds had high temp at over 5yo)

debs26 · 17/03/2005 20:16

bad back or stiff neck? dont want to cause panic but would definatley speak to professional now

pixiefish · 17/03/2005 20:16

Have you got a car? Get her to your local doctors out of hours service or the A and E dept of your hospital.

lucykatie · 17/03/2005 20:17

NO SPOTS.

SHE IS NEVER ILL, THATS WHY THE SUDDEN AAAAHHHHHH

WideWebWitch · 17/03/2005 20:17

Are you calling them Lucykatie? You could just take her to A&E if you're really worried unless there's a walk in centre near you.

lucykatie · 17/03/2005 20:17

ON PHONE TO NHS DIRECT.....

bundle · 17/03/2005 20:18

BubblesDeVere · 17/03/2005 20:47

How is she?

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 20:50

sounds like the bug I've just had, I was freezing cold but hot to touch, my body ached and my head hurt, and felt dizzy. I now have a cold and cough...

Fimbo · 17/03/2005 21:12
