For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

100x, invite me!! I'm the closest!
Or we could meet in the woods and stroke your proofs together.

Oo-er.

They'll be accusing me of filth again.

TooTicky · 08/10/2008 23:24

I never did get to see your pink knobbles

Guadalupe · 08/10/2008 23:24

I thought you said you were in the closet at first glance then, Toot.

TooTicky · 08/10/2008 23:27

Nah, I couldn't see to type.

mou · 09/10/2008 08:20

Good morning all, hope you are all bright eyed and bushy tailed this fine morning..yawns and crawls back into pit.

Bound proofs 100, I am seriously impressed, I don't know you but can I have a little stroke?

Off to work on my bike today, taking tomato juice, apple; Fruit cake for breakfast!? Pint of water all ready.

Cheery wave to all, yawns again and scoots off to do school run.

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2008 08:33

me either to emailing, I am not usually a bitchy sort but I was terrified that I was managing fanciful badly and that it would affect the 'brand' of the Fruit-loopers if you see what i mean...and she was not getting our humour!

We have paper lampshades. But 2 of those odd spangly habitat ones in front room. Which sort of look like xmas decorations all year round.

Hello mou. I think you joined our illustrious ranks after I started my last 'break'.

Good morning to all. Thursday mornings are nice in the bero household because a) my working week ends on Wednesdays b) the veg box comes on Weds so on Thurs morning there is lovely fresh new fruit and bread for breakfast. I am having two apples (one red, one green) and two pears that all look very small-organic-orchard-grown. One of the pears had a leaf on. The apples are divine.

My melancholy is over. Guad, you can have your house now without danger of irrational attacks of envy from me. This morning I am going to ignore ds2 let him play serenely around my feet/carry him in the sling and Sort Things Out. ds1 is at lovely kindergarten. I will at some point stop mentioning that this kindergarten is lovely every time I speak of it. But I still cannot get over its loveliness. Walking through the little gate in the mornings when I take ds1 and the chestnut trees lining the way there and the played-smooth logs in the sandpit and the lovely children with names like Frieda and Mascha and the allotment and the friendly parents. (And the financial crisis is averted for now). It feels like another little piece of our lives that is how I would like it to be and that eventually we will be able to add more and more pieces.

It is all fog mists and mellow fruitfulness here.

berolina · 09/10/2008 08:48

hello FMF, we crossed posts. I typed that one one-handed trying to get ds2 to eat pear.

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2008 10:11

Bero, that sound wonderful...and I like the way you are being hopeful and positive.
May I take your place in the melancholy corner please?
I like our small, scruffy house and the scruffy area we live in, but i felt like a small child standing outside, watching a party take place through a window last night. Al the prosperous parents looking at this beautiful school, with no worries abut whether their child will get in or not, because they are wealthy enough to live in the tiny catchment area. And tonight I will go and look round another school and feel the same

berolina · 09/10/2008 10:15

oh FMF sweetie It is hard, isn't it? I have catchment worries too - we are going to have to move before ds1 starts school in 3 years (at 6.5 , but that's another story) - but not as bad as yours. The German school system is overtly elitist and the British one covertly it actually makes me quite angry. I wish there was something I could do.

Guadalupe · 09/10/2008 10:21

That is hard, FMV. Our secondaries don't have catchments as such, my form says I am in the catchment for five and over subscription will be be decided by distance as the crow flies.

What can you do, do you know anyone there that could help you with the address? What about renting a bedsit nearby or is it not that sort of area? There must be a solution.

Guadalupe · 09/10/2008 10:31

What I mean is, after we apply to the oversubscribed one, we have to wait and see after they have done SEN and siblings whether we get a place with distance. Everyone is in catchment but it depends how many people apply between us and there ifswim.

OsmosisBanana · 09/10/2008 10:33

Morning.

I knew Fanciful couldn't be real. The way she typed, she would have spelt 'fanciful' with a 'y'. Had to be a literary sort.

Thank god though eh? And well done for being so nice, even though it was painfully obvious the facial expressions you were all pulling at your screens!!!

Am v alarmed by this secretive emailing.

I promise never to misbehave ever again.

Still not finished that blumin' internet thing. I am lazy out of practice.

I feel a bit anxious today. For why I know not.

Have lost half a stone. My skinny jeans are now 'somewhat saggy' jeans. Not a good look. 4-6lbs more and then I will stop whinging.

I think I may be having a small 'shit I'm 30 in 6 months time life crisis'. I'm not trying to be annoying, just wondering where this knot of anxiety has come from, it has been there for days.

Congrats 100biros!

Hello womb and SB!

we are getting busier - Fran has a mysterious power... she shows up, scatters the stones and fledgelings come back.

littlerach · 09/10/2008 10:33

Loads of F&V have been consumed.

But life is so busy
having a job gets in the way of everyhting, you know?

FMF, secondarey school is crapola, I've decided.
They are either crap or excellent, and no on ecan get into the excellent ones.

i dread dd1 going to secondary. I owrk in one which she could end up in, and it fills me with dread. It is horrid.

My friend and I were chatting about how instead of secondary they could all just go to our houses and we could teach them thinmgs that we know about. But I don't really know enough.

My mate is a Chemistry teacher, so that would be okay for Science.

And another friend is an art teacher, and a performing arts teacher.
See, it would be fine. Hmm.

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2008 10:34

Oh, sorry to ignore school crises.

We will have one of those problems in years to come. Hopefully I will have talked DH into emigrating by then. Seems an awful waste of dual nationality to sulk around here for ever.

OsmosisBanana · 09/10/2008 11:00

Bristol that is. Not 10/10!

OsmosisBanana · 09/10/2008 11:02

1 banana
large salad for lunch (about 3)

4....

tuna steaks with mixed bean salad for dinner though so that'll be about 7.

I seem to be having problems getting past 7 these days.

i guess i could manage a carrot when I get in instead of popcorn

OsmosisBanana · 09/10/2008 11:15

I've done it! It's finished. I have a head ache.

I write like a tabloid journalist. My A level History teacher always used to say that and it's true.

'shock, Charles II in dramatic comeback'

Ah well, i hear they are quite well paid at The Sun. I could be their 'nutrition columnist'.... I could tell you all to go and eat the new 'super food' and get sneaky back handers from turnip farmers.

You heard it here first folks.

CharleeInChains · 09/10/2008 11:20

Morning eveyone.

I have just come back from Aquatot's with DS2 so have already done a fair bit of the old excersise!

I have only had half an apple to eat today though so i am going to remedy that with a big lunchtime salad!

I am sooooooo excited about going on holiday tommorrow im afraid i am acting like a loon! anyone would think i was going to Barbados, im only going to Butins!

OsmosisBanana · 09/10/2008 11:37

Which one are you going to CIC?

DH used to work at a Butlins

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 13:52

Hello all
I went out last night and drank a lot of red grape
which is just as well 'cos if I'd been on here and heard you all emailing about fanciful I might have got a little paranoid being a total newby and all.
I might have had to march into the yurt with my hands on my hips and stamped my feet
I thought fanciful sounded ghastly. Does that mean I can stay
I am however most excited about the pit
Good luck with scan PSW - I vote for a boy or a girl

daisy99divine · 09/10/2008 14:09

OK, had some lettuce and tomato (with bacon) for lunch

Apple now. Pear to come.

Cycled for 20 minutes.

Osba, I thought we wrote your internet presentation for you two days ago

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2008 14:33

Hi Daisy, if you thought fanciful sounded ghastly, you're definitely allowed to stay

veg soup, another banana. Hmm must try harder.

fullmoonfiend · 09/10/2008 14:34

the pit is where we throw bad vegers when we have aboot camp. Except some of us like it too much in there as someone ususally smuggles in a mars bar or three.
