the tests arent comepleted yet for transplant assessment but its looking very liekly he will be put on the list. however his kidneys are causing concern. he is out putting more fluid than he is taking in. is now on restricted fluid intake. if his kidney function doesnt get sorted out then he may have to stay in harefield till a heart becomes available. but as dh is tall and low body weight the doc has said it may cause problems in finding a suitable heart for him. but his heart needs to be repalced as its causing the problems for his kidney and liver. far too much to take in, and i;m not sure i'm explaing it properly.

I have read your threads over the months Misdee and never really known what to say so have not posted. You amaze me with how much you cope with.

I can't read this and leave again so will send you lots of love and support. Really hope you have some good news soon.

LGJ · 17/02/2005 09:14

Rang DU who I suppose quite rightly said that is not his place to comment. He would hate to give you the wrong information, he did however ask me to point out to you that he is at a centre of excellence. He said to trust the professionals at Harefield, which I know you do. And that he is thinking of you.

Oh no Misdee, only just seen this. So sorry about the news.

misdee · 17/02/2005 09:39

just spoke to DH. thinks he has another day of rest with only tissue typing, INr etc (bloods), as he is still recovering from the MUGA the other day. and tomorrow is the angiogram. have been told if he is placed on the list and allowed to be at home, will have to have mobile on at all times waiting for the call. I asked whether or not we can get some flashing lights for the car lol. have really got to pass my test asap now.

Fingers crossed if you are looking to get him home then. Sorry i'm not very good with all the medical terminology, just wanted to post to say i'm still thinking of you. Do you have people close by with cars for lifts?

BEKsmum · 17/02/2005 10:05

Misdee, I hope you don't mind me positing this but I've only recently joined this site & have therefore only read some of the most recent threads and I just felt I had to post something to say how incredibly inspiring you are. Your dh is very lucky to have someonw so incredibly strong looking out for him and I hope you get some good news soon with regards to getting him a new heart.

I hope to that all goes smoothly with the birth of your baby next week and that this new addition to the family brings you lots of joy and yet another reason for your dh to keep fighting. I'm sure you and your daughters plus this new addition give him renewed strength everyday & that you'll soon see a light at the end of the tunnel where everything will turn out bright for you all, as you deserve every bit of happiness going.

beansprout · 17/02/2005 10:11

Lots of love to you all xxx

angiogram today. about 10am. dh is scared, i'm, scared and dont know what i'll do if there are problems. as he has been on warfarin, they had to stop this so he wont suffer excessive bleeding today. want him home soon, but am not holding out much hope atm.

Will be thinking of you both today, hope everything goes smoothly. xxx

misdee · 18/02/2005 09:21

i guess they can see how much damage there is to the heart etc as soon as they do it. will take about 45mins if all goes smoothly and no complications.
