For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I thought satsuma was the answer to the mystery then.

Am visiting guadalupe tomorrow!

berolina · 05/08/2008 22:50

I would like to meet you toooo FMV

Blueberry and banana flapjack. Apple. Lots of veg (pumpkin carrot courgette etc.) for dinner. Fermented grape juice.

Off tomorrow to BIL, wife and family (fantastic matriarchal 4-generation household with lots of cats and blueberry bush in the garden) for 5 days (with MN access) and then to my dearest friend for another 5 (without).

This General Health business is throwing me, as I find the thread via active convos.

SuperBunny · 06/08/2008 04:40

Not read thread, again. Sorry.

Am here. Thinking of you all

x

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 08:41

why are we in General Health? we used to just be in Health

apple, melon, strawbs, raisins, grapes = 4

dp, who is working from home today, has decided wearing ds2 in a sling is Cool. Fantastic. I had a shower and washed my hair and sat down and had breakfast and drank a cup of tea, and nobody said waaah or had to sit on my knee or be fed. He wouldn't wear one with ds1 but we had a ring sling then and you hardly ever saw men wearing them 5 years ago I suppose. Or women in fact. We know lots of soppy emancipated men now though and they are all carting babies arond on their manly chests. So hooray for peer pressure

Boco would you and Loopy come and visit me soon? It would be better than last time, now MrsC has a new name, because I can tell people "my imaginary friends Boco and Loopy are coming to visit me." Oh I was thinking of loco actually, that would have been better. Can I call you Loco just for the purposes of worrying people?

SuperBunny are you ok?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 08:48

it looks like rain again
I don't want it to rain because:
teenagers coming round to take ds1 out to sports in the park
I want to go and sit in nice cafe garden this pm and eat cake while people admire my fat baby

so it can rain between 1 and 3, I suppose. Not otherwise, please.

filthymindedvixen · 06/08/2008 15:38

Dh loved carting ds2 on his chest - he reckons it was an utter babe magnet

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 17:58

avi yes indeed
I have been thinking about you
are you ok and what is wrong with your computer?

ds1 and I have been doing shouting and screaming (he got up at 5 am and it didn't agree with either of us) but I think we have sorted it out now
it didn't rain
dp is making a stir fry

I am going out for dinner on Friday apparently
with ds2 in the sling
will this work?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 18:00

oh the sling, yes, I have discovered the hug a bub is good for carrying him around
the huggababy is good for putting him down easily when asleep, and bfing
but not the other way round

I am so proud, both the boys told their auntie that mummy didn't like them having coca cola while she was looking after them. They could have said nowt and supped up!

AND they explained why ''becaus in countries where they make it, they take away water from the poor people to use in their factories., And then they tell the people they don't need to drink water, they can have coke instead...''

mmmmwwwah ha ha...

And then my sister asked me why the kids chose non-nestle sweeties as well

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 18:26

fmf that is brilliant

mrsc just opened your parcel - thank you

OsBa had to laugh at your description of your predicament although of course not the predicament itself

Franny hope you enjoyed your cake in the garden cafe and ds2 was suitably admired

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 18:48

Had a lovely time with loopy, she was going to look after dds while I had driving lesson - but our car broke so she had to look after dp too until the AA came. We had lovely lunch and the children shrieked and giggled and dd2 demanded things a lot and we managed to chat inbetween.

pinkspottywellies · 06/08/2008 19:01

By the way, yes probably count me in for October meet-up. Possibly just me

OsmosisBanana · 06/08/2008 19:09

Yes, I will def be sans bebe too. Toddlers don't like London you know.

berolina · 06/08/2008 19:49

I am in UK first week in Nov...

Lots of F+V on 6h train journey.

Both boys thoroughly earth-covered and ds1 splashed lots with stream-water.

Busy. Tired.

MollyRoger · 06/08/2008 19:54

oh. I'd love to come ...but oct to dec is financial nightmare time for me (All the birthdays and xmas)

Bero, where in UK are you going to be?

FrannyandZooey · 06/08/2008 20:16

broccoli, carrots, chinese leaf, red pepper, onions, mushrooms

I can do most weekends in Oct
