For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

evening.

Hello MamaG. Sympathies to sufferers of bedtime meltdowns.

I declare neutrality in the capers debate. Quite like olives.

We had beans for dinner. Beans and small baked potatoes and grated cheese.

Went for a walk in my favourite part of Berlin with dses. Beautiful old tall apartment houses with flowery unkempt front gardens separated from the street by iron railings with ivy growing through them. In some gardens there are benches and tiny ponds and children's play stuff. In one there was a rabbit hutch. Saw three or four notes on lampposts, 'Family looking for flat. Will pay up to [more than we can afford] pcm.' We are never going to find a flat there. Then again, these people always seem to have enormous long wishlists, and I think we are more modest.

We stopped off at my favourite baby/children's/parenting-equipment shop and I bought a new bag for work, with space for my lunch and my breast pump. ds2 is 11 months and will be being brought in to bf once or twice a day on my work days, but I want to express too as I am worried about supply problems as I feel he still feeds so much - I have no idea though, I am with him constantly and he feeds and I really don't know how much or how often, he's just there and I'm there and we're just still one in so many ways. I really really do not want to go back. I felt a bit of grief, I suppose, thinking about it today - is that presumptuous, or can I call it grief? Have been emailing manager about bf arrangements. He is really quite accommodating but has some rather unrealistic expectations of how long this phase is going to last.

I am not mentioning F+V. You will cast me out.

There's something funny happening.

I keep getting calls to my mobile that come up as 'anonymous'. The first one was several people shouting something incomprehensible, so I hung up. A few minutes later an older sounding woman talking what sounded like Arabic. This was in the middle of the night, was confused and just said 'wrong number'. Since then maybe a dozen calls, three or four a day. Then today a text saying 'mariam, i know she is with you, please please just tell her to call her mum, please'. thought that sounded a bit serious so texted back saying 'wrong number'. They replied saying 'you fucking liar, you liar! Tell the fucking truth. Liar'. Was a little puzzled.

And then they called and said 'my sister is with you isn't she!' And I said no, really, honestly, I'm not Mariam, I don't know who your sister is.' and she hung up. Now I'm all jumpy waiting to see what happens next.

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 22:28

Oh Bero - I know we don't do this but ((hug))

I can't imagine going back to work. Much as I need to, it will still be a struggle for me. Probably far less so for DS.

Does popcorn count? I mean the real stuff - popped at home in hot air, no oil or flavoring. Because it is just corn. And if corn counts then popped corn should. This is a real honest question btw, not just me trying to sneak an extra portion in. So, if it doesn't count, why not?

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 22:29

Boco, that's scary. Can you report it to someone? No idea who though. Sounds worrying

Lullabyloo · 18/08/2008 22:33

oooooohhh errr Boco
That's not very nice.
I'd turn your moby off before you go to bed.

Glad you had a good weekend but sorry about your stepmother.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 22:43

How horrid Boco. Still, better on a mobile than a landline I think, it's more anonymous and unplaceable.

Bero, have {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} from me too.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 22:44

But is corn a veg or a grain?

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 22:47

Franny, are you getting enough sleep or is that a stupid question at this stage? Everything is more desperate and fraught when you are tired.
You are still wonderful btw.

Oh, we do need a new thread, don't we? Everything has gone v-e-r-y s-l-o-w.

TooTicky · 18/08/2008 22:50

Orange, grapefruit, baked beans, banana, roasted tomatoes/red pepper/courgette/homegrown garlic'n'oregano'n'basil , fine beans - green, yellow and purple.
Probably 7ish really.
Oh, and orange juice. 8.
Got a veg box last week after not having had one for a while. Tis v. good, must keep it up.

SuperBunny · 18/08/2008 23:16

Yes please to new thread. No titles from me though.

I was wondering about corn - I think it is a grain, technically. So why do we count it as a veg?

SuperBunny · 19/08/2008 01:06

Ooo, I came to work and there is a Bunny staying here. That is her name. her real name How bizarre

And there were not cornettos but I found the secret stash

MamaG · 19/08/2008 08:48

at Bunny

Boco that sounds horrible - if it continues you should change your number

Bero - I really feel for you, I sobbed my heart out all the way to work on the first day back after having my DD 9 years ago and I can still remember how devastated I was. Are you going back FT or PT? I'm guessing the feeding/pumping is going to be a bit of trial and error but I'm sure you'll settle into a routine with it. Good luck

(can I count the raisins in my bagel for breakfast as 1 of my 10? I am going to)

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2008 08:55

corn has to be a veg
I eat it about 10 times a week
but the popcorn question is a good one
it doesn't feel right to count it as a vegetable does it? so why not? and is corn really a vegetable? I am sure it is, I have seen it on the chart

Boco sorry but you do have interesting things happening to you
I hope mariam is not too scary
we have an old codger who phones about twice a year thinking his son lives here
we say "sorry wrong number" and he apologises and instantly phones again saying the same thing
am very of the klimt

where IS MamaG? I wish she was here

I am getting sleep. Not enough but I rarely do [sleep greeder] Ds2 wakes in the night but usually just has milk and goes back to sleep. I wake up later with breasts flopping everywhere so i guess I just go back to sleep also. Co-sleeping really rocks at the beginning (it is later on IME you get bugger all sleep). Plus dp lets me have big lie ins at the weekend. I think in fact dp should get about 90% of the credit here for things going well, annoyingly. My mother always believes this to be true and I think this time she may actually be right. I just swan about breastfeeding and going for tea and cake and stuff. He does everything else

MamaG · 19/08/2008 08:57

Can I please borrow your DH in 10 weeks time Franny? Mine will be going back to work soon after the birth of BabyG although I'm sure he'll be great at night/weekends as he has been before.

Glad things are going well though (sleep aside!)

MamaG · 19/08/2008 08:58

I prefer the potatoes

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2008 08:59

can I just burst and say AITCH IS HAVING A BABY WWOOOOOHOOOOOO
I have been wanting to do that for ages but finally she has 'announced' it on another thread
I am so excited for her

OP posts:
MamaG · 19/08/2008 09:00

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2008 09:01

OP posts:
MamaG · 19/08/2008 09:02

It made me giggle

FrannyandZooey · 19/08/2008 09:03

yes well
I am not sure that you and me giggling at it constitutes a definitive test of humorousness tbh

Boco · 19/08/2008 09:18

I like both of those titles.

Do you mean Aitch is actually in labour?

Bee is coming here today! Am in my pyjamas and my house is a tip. She'll be here in under two hours. I might write a list.

LULLY! The Sylvanians just arrived - girls are over the moon, aren't they lovely! Perfect condition - they have straight away been divided into family groups and given names. DDs shouting 'we need a bigger house for them all mummy!' So, thank you xx

berolina · 19/08/2008 09:59

morning

Do alfafa, franny.

Boco, I think she's got 6 weeks to go? said so on the other thread anyway.

Thank you for sympathies. Is PT, fortunately. 2.5 days - well, 3.5 days for the first 6 weeks or so after week 1 because of big project and then the time off afterwards It is the lowest number of hours I can do without ruining us. For various reasons I am actually going to be earning 300 euros/month less than the extremely generous state maternity pay I have been getting until now . So it is going to be a bit of a double shock. Gosh, there are much worse situations, and much worse organisations to work for, there really are, and much worse jobs. Some people love what I do. It's just my heart isn't in it. Hence the escape plan which is going to swallow still more of my time next year. My boys are going to be alright, aren't they? I do my very very best to give them plenty of me

Tatties · 19/08/2008 10:04

Morning!

I am also in my pyjamas Boco. Was Klimt good? I was thinking about going too but I doubt we will manage
FMV that is reassuring (about toilet training) thank you
