I can't find my coil strings. I have never lost them before. DH can't find them either.

I have a gynae appointment on Tuesday so I can tell them then assuming they haven't shown up.

Do they often hide for a bit?

orangina · 22/07/2008 14:59

you mean you went to find your coil norma and came out discovering you were 19 weeks pregnant? (faints at the mere thought, as a card carrying copper coil wearer.... )

well, yes, ditto hoxtonchick. . Norma! Did you really look for coil and discover you were pregnant at the same time (fears her libido will plummet at mere thought of another possible pregnancy...)

hoxtonchick · 22/07/2008 15:31

we can be NOT PREGNANT together orangina .

NormaStanleyFletcher · 22/07/2008 16:14

No mine was mirena coil. My periods had stopped about 7 months earlier.

I was off work ill and also mentioned that I was putting on weight. Doc checked and found strings present, and said "so you aren't pg"

I did a test anyway, yes I was pg, and so was sent for dating scan and to check where the coil was. They found it really low down.

I never had any other symptoms other than putting on weight, which was what made it so

whoops · 22/07/2008 16:19

it was my gp that refered me for a scan too.
A girl I work with got pg with a coil and they removed the coil when they found out about the pregnancy

Slubberdegullion · 22/07/2008 16:24

Oh this thread has made me go and have a rummage. I found both my strings, 3 hair bobbles and a playmobil baby hedgehog.

[not helpful]

NormaStanleyFletcher · 22/07/2008 17:48

god know's I haven't the patience to wait until saturday!

Slubberdegullion · 22/07/2008 17:49

What position are you rootling in?

If I do it supine I can't feel a thing (well apart from, you know, vagina), but if I do it standing in a one foot up on the loo and bent over a bit at an angle then they magically appear.

Maybe you should do that and cough, feeling fingers at the ready.

moodlumthehoodlum · 22/07/2008 17:52

OMG. After reading this thread there is no way the coil is going to be my new chosen method of contraception.

Slubberdegullion · 22/07/2008 18:05

Oh, sorry, hadn't read thread in entirety. Didn't realise you had had the spreaders.

Sorry that all rummagings have come up empty handed.

I'm sure it's in there, all by itself with no babies.
