For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

good afternoon
sorry that enormous post really dominated the thread didn't it? I was venting
please list veg and things as usual and I loved reading about the poo (well, you know me ) and the kittens and it is SO GOOD to be able to get back on here and hear vegger talk again
thank you all for still being here just like I left you like some marvellous little corner of cyberspace where it is always Avi Island in the 1950s
you are so fab

god we were meant to be home for breakfast today
his canula came out last night and again this morning - it is a nightmare for them to put back in as he has no usable veins left on any limb
the registrar came to do it today but he wasn't free until after midday and then the poor man had to try 4 times
when he had finished he said "I think I might cry" and then he DID a bit! LOL which was sort of wonderful. I heart him very much. There are some lovely lovely staff there.

anyway I have eaten fruit and fruit and fruit
just bag loads of it
I don't have to go back to the hosp for meds until 10 pm but there is no-one who can give me a lift after 7 so I have to go then which is a bit of an arse. Nice to be home for a bit though. Ds1 is out with my parents. I know everyone has been asking about him and I haven't said much but it is a bit tender to talk about, tbh. Obviously it has been very hard for him - he has done brilliantly but it is difficult. He had some lovely games with ds2 this morning while we were all waiting to leave the hosp, and has discovered that if he leans over ds2 when he is a bit peckish that he will latch on very enthusisatically to ds1's nose

He is quite cross with dp and more recently quite cross with me which is healthy of course and I am trying to let him
the best thing he has said is to dp "I am so cross I am going to turn you into a dumpling and eat you and then die so you will be stuck in my tummy FOREVER"

Guadalupe · 25/07/2008 16:50

LOLOL at dumpling! Glad you are back for a bit.

There are bees going in and out of a hole in my garden. Does this mean a nest? I didn't realise they made nests in the ground like that.

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2008 17:03

Franny glad you got out if only for a little while. Lol at latching on to ds1's nose. DH used to find that one hilarious after the initial 'oh that hurts'.

So I have some exciting news. Anyone want to have a guess?

congrats pink i am so pleased for you

berolina · 25/07/2008 17:08

Franny hello I know it's hard with ds1, but if you can rest assured he will be fine. Mine - who was a fair bit younger but very much aware of what was going on - came really remarkably well through seeing his little brother in his hospital 'goldfish bowl' and mama going away again after he'd only just had her back. We actually made some wonderful memories on his visits there - things he still refers to (positively). It all made me so tenderly proud of him

Very little F+V yesterday and I doubt I will make the 10 today. I've been only semi-explicably out of sorts.

berolina · 25/07/2008 17:09

Oh Pink congratulations.

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2008 17:09

February is a nice birth month. Cosy feeding sessions inside, then when you're ready to go out more spring is coming I have two born in freaky heatwaves (May and Sept).

Sigh again!

oi · 25/07/2008 17:15

hey there franny, ds had much the same. Awful long lasting jaundice and a chest infection. Lots of poking and prodding. Was awful. He didn't cry for something like 4 months he was so poorly and had a dreadful start to his feeding. But it all picked up and he started breastfeeding with gusto in the end.

I hope all that start will just be a memory v soon. They get big so quick at that age and soon you'll wonder how you had such a little thing with canulas and needles and everything when he is staring up at you with his lovely eyes.

hope you feel better soon too.

Tatties · 25/07/2008 17:15

(((Pink))) Congratulations!

Franny good to see you

We had a good mango this afternoon

berolina · 25/07/2008 17:19

LR, thank you I'm really not quite as I should be/as I know myself. If I didn't think I knew better I'd say hormones, as it can't be entirely explained by stuff I've got going on. But I've never really been that sensitive, in terms of emotional equilibrium, to hormonal stuff. I scared myself yesterday by thinking about late-onset PND.

Tatties · 25/07/2008 17:24

Bero have some ((())) too

UnderRated · 25/07/2008 17:25

Good to hear your updates, Franny. Sorry DS1 is a bit cross but it's probably a good thing, if a little hard to deal with at times. The dumpling bit made me smile. The doctor sounds wonderful. You may be disappointed to hear that DS pooed in the toilet today and not on the floor.

How old is DS2, Bero? My PND wasn't diagnosed for 18 months by which time it was really quite bad. And there was debate over whether or not it was PND or just 'normal' depression. I don't suppose it matters all that much at that stage, as long as it gets treated. Is there someone you can talk to? Or do you think things will settle down?

Oooo, what exciting news, Pink. What a surprise

beans, peas, corn, banana, raisins.

BBBee · 25/07/2008 17:28

oh pinky pink - how wonderfully gloriously wonderful!

IdrisTheDragon · 25/07/2008 17:29

Pink - you're not pregnant are you?

berolina · 25/07/2008 17:34

Thank you Tatties He's 10 months, UR. I hope this will pass really - I'm not at all used to the not knowing why I feel a certain way, so rather disorientated.

UnderRated · 25/07/2008 17:37

I know Bero, it is really unsettling when you can't work out why you feel not quite right. I do hope it passes (())

Pink, I meant to say, CONGRATULATIONS

Glad to see zippi back, sorry about car

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2008 17:42

Can't believe everyone guessed so quickly

Franny I wondered about all your (and other people's posts with ds2's name. It's another quite distinctive one and you were always so carefuls about not putting ds1's name!!

DD has been in TooT's fairy outfit today. We went shopping and to town!! I held up two dresses (not thinking she'd pick the fairy one with all the netting and frills!) and she picked it I got some funny looks in town
