For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

have solved hangover problem.

Our computer is driving me nuts. It keeps just typing q w s a d all over the place randomly even if I'm nowhere near it. And inserting my typing in the wrong place so you have to cut n paste it into the right place. This will be the 3 rd time we've had to take it back to the cowboys who were supposed to be replacing the fan. Nice one guys.

Isla is still asleep. I know I will pay for it later but am enjoying it too much to get her up.

Give us a link, pink

god I sound like an episode of Pinky Dinky Doo

Have you had half a lager shandy OB? I love your dd's name btw . I caught up with a former colleague on FB recently, she has had a little girl since I last spoke to her and her name is Isla.

have solved your crisis pink.

Have good recipes for both.

Thanks TF, it was the name I always had in mind from about 16! Kept forgetting it though and then Isla Fisher rather helpfully became more famous and I remembered it again.

Flintoff and Ambrose holding out, not notching up the runs fast though. Still....

Sorry, I did hear from franny this morning but I have been out all day and couldn't get on mnet.

He is a little better today but they will have to stay in till at least wednesday for the abs and they are having to decide whether or not to give him a lumber puncture, poor mite.

I can't imagine how Franny's feeling, it must be awful. She appreciates all of our support.

oh poor little L

Franny & DP must be going demented with worry - such a shame, hope he picks up soon

OsmosisBanana · 21/07/2008 16:46

Poor little bean.

What is wrong? GB Strep?

pinkspottywellies · 21/07/2008 16:47

Oh Thanks for the update MrsC.

I've just been folding nappies and fretting about Franny. I hope it doesn't sound awful but I'm not so worried about DS2 because he's in hospital, he's got his mummy and he's having the care he needs and will be fine. But poor Franny must feel so frightened and helpless. Anyway, that's not helping any so I'll shut up. But just wanted to say I'm feeling sad

I assumed it's strep, OB, but if they are worried about meningitis and considering a lumber puncture, is that the same bacteria? I don't know really. She isn't getting any bf support, they just keep saying the midwives are too busy. That is appalling.

MamaG · 21/07/2008 16:51

oh thats shit. Is there anyway a BF counsellor could go into the hospital to help her (or doesn't it work like that?)

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 16:59

I don't know, I am speaking to her by text at the moment. I think the community midwife should visit her if they won't send someone up from postnatal.

pinkspottywellies · 21/07/2008 16:59

Apparently our hospital has an infant feeding coordinator. I wonder if her's has one? I think you have to kick off loudly about these things to get anywhere. She already goes to La Leche doesn't she - perhaps she'll have someone she can contact.

Oh, someone is coming now. Thank god!

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 17:00

folding nappies sounds very domesticated, Pink.

OsmosisBanana · 21/07/2008 17:04

That's ridiculous. Most mat hospitals have a baby friendly initiative uh instigator. If hosps can prove they are 'baby friendly' and all MW's are trained to BF counsel properly etc etc they get massive financial incentives.

How shit. Sadly, that is the state of most mat hospitals these days. Gov't still working off old figures of how many babies are born per year and allocating finances accordingly. One of my bosses has been in meetings about it all week.

My hospital is paid what it costs for about 3,500 woment to give birth per year when about 5000 come through the doors.

How sad for Fran.

Boco · 21/07/2008 17:05

Hello, am back, my phone ran out of batteries so got Bee's message that baby L wasn't well but couldn't reply or find out any more.

Gosh so much news, L looks gorgeous, such a shame that Franny has this stress now after such a great birth, but hope he's out and better soon. All sounds really strange that they'd not be supporting F with the latch if that could be the problem, hope they're home very soon.

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 17:09

treating symptoms rather than the cause, often the way isn't it?

Hopefully the person going up now will be able to help a little.

Was it great, Boco? Some friends of mine went on saturday and had a fab day.

pinkspottywellies · 21/07/2008 17:12

Not domesticated Guad. I'm just a tightwad! Buying disposables to throw away - I don't think so

It was great, really magical place, but hard work with the girls this time, exhausting. I hate tents, it was FREEEZING last night, and we all got very wet and muddy. But worth it for the whole experience, especially seeing Blondie last night, and Joanna Newsome, and the breeders, and sigur ros, and lots and lots of others. And seeing friends and lying by a lake drinking and eating. The best bit was at night when all the trees were full of lights and the lake had a fountain with pretty pictures shone onto it, and giant flowers everywhere, and we went dancing in the woods where there was a sound system and smoke and lights and the girls were completely awe struck.

It took 2 hours just to get out of the carpark today though, and we were all filthy and starving and grumpy and the magic had GONE.

Guadalupe · 21/07/2008 17:18

I love disposables, I can't bear the thought of washing nappies. Isn't it awful? I love the mountans and the sea and all that is green but by god I have never considered using a cooshtie or a botty buff or whtever they're called.

Cast me out by all means. I only ever said I was semi lentil.
