this gotta be the worse cold ive ever had as i caught it on wed and by wed night i felt drunk, when to bed shivering and i had turned the heater up on nearly full blast (my DP nearly fainted!! - oops!), also had a migraine too which didnt help, i slept for about 5 hrs and woke up swimming in bed!! (sweats)
last night i just about to drink water without it hurting my throat, today not too bad but im full of solid green phelgm !!!

is anyone else got it to make me feel better (ive bought cough/ sore throat med and its slowly working)

Yes,myself and the kids have got it,they've also got conjuncivitis,so it's been a nightmare in this household for a few days!!

Titania · 05/02/2005 10:17

Yes I had it last week. then DH got it and he never gets ill. He has now kindly reinfected me and I feel lousy again this morning! Keep going hot and cold. I cant take cough/cold stuff cos it interacts with my ads and diazepam.

I really feel for you. Its horrid isnt it?

golds · 05/02/2005 10:33

Another one here. Came down with it last Saturday night and by Monday I was dying, had to take 2 days off work, still don't feel 100% but thankfully alot better. DH came down with it too and had to take some time off, he's self-employed so really hit us.

I was taking Lemsip Max capsules and thought they were realy great. Picked me up quicker than anything else could of IMO

Hope you get getter soon, us mums aren't allowed to be ill, whereas dh's are allowed to quietly die

mummylonglegs · 05/02/2005 14:01

Me too. I got it first a week ago on Friday but not too bad and thought I'd shifted it by Monday. Then Tuesday afternoon I started shivering and was exactly like you describe. I still feel crap today. Do you guys feel very off food too?

tammybear · 05/02/2005 14:07

me and dd have it, have had it for nearly 2 weeks now Mines just in my nose now, but dd's got a runny nose and a cough, so shes up most nights

biglips · 07/02/2005 11:08

Kymbo - i woken up yesterday morning and my eyes were stuck together - yes conjuncivitis !! not impressed with myself as i look a right mess !! (bright red nose that you cant miss it at a mile and looking like a Dracula with those red eyes), already booked for docs later on this afternoon.

Ds has got it and has had it since Friday evening. As soon as we miss the four hour time slot with calpol, goes downhill really fast. DH woke up this morning and announced he's getting it, so I assume I'm next.

Titania · 07/02/2005 11:25

I've got a kidney infection now to add to it!

Smurfgirl · 07/02/2005 11:28

I got better but have woke up this morning wuth cold no.2 I also have an ear infection.

nutcracker · 07/02/2005 11:32

Me too, don't feel too bad at the mo but have a feeling it is gonna get worse before it gets better.

Bloody freezing, and got a stupid tickly cough and sore eyes.

handlemecarefully · 07/02/2005 12:02

We all had it. In Dh's case it developed into pneumonia

Detta · 13/02/2005 18:20

Yes - myself, DP, DS all have it and have been getting better, then worse again over the course of the past two weeks. DP and I have now devloped very nasty lower back pain. Has anyone else had this symptom? Any suggestions on how to break up my dry cough would be most welcome too!

aloha · 13/02/2005 18:38

Biglips, you think you have it bad....I went into labour on Monday night with the very same virus. Now, that was a lovely experience... and poor ds (3) got it too, so you can imagine how delighted he was not to have his mummy around
It's absolutely grim, isn't it? I've since had a relapse and so has ds.

vict17 · 13/02/2005 18:40

Poor you Aloha - how are you getting on? Has your little one got a name yet?!

Its all Cod's fault .. I keep telling you .. its cod's fault

aloha · 13/02/2005 18:43

I'm Ok, thank you. DD (still horribly nameless!) is a very happy, serene and beautiful baby who smiles most enchantingly at her daddy and my bosoms (!) but am having a harder time (ie more painful) with her than with ds, which is a bit morale-sapping, tbh. I have fantastic support from dh and my mum and am calling GP tomorrow to ask about poss thrush. Ho hum. It's a bugger, isn't it?

vict17 · 13/02/2005 18:44

Hope the gp sorts you out tomorrow. Are you getting much sleep?

aloha .. it took 2 weeks to feel better and able to stop medicating myself with DD (only took 5 days with DS) .. I think cos its a more difficult procedure 2nd time with scar tissue that's to be expected .. don't worry about it ..

give the child a name FGS
