For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg herehere and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Franny it's a nightmare isn't it. I know there isn't a good thing to say right now, but just concentrate on the fact that this time next week you will definitely be holding the baby.

DD2 is really not well, she's been sick twice from coughing - dd1 had a friend for tea, and it was just as her mother arrived to pick her up. She's doing that breathing where they suck in under ribs and at the neck. actually i posted this on a random thread by accident.

How do you know when to call the emergency doctor with asthma? I don't know - it sounds so alarming one minute and then she's coping alright again the next and the fact that it can go downhill so fast is freaking me out a bit. Am not relaxed about it at all having had serious asthma attacks myself.

Tatties · 15/07/2008 19:35

Oh no Boco I have no experience with this so am no good to you. I alway think if in doubt call NHS direct / out of hours surgery for advice. Any time I have called about anything for ds they have always got back to me really quickly.

FrayedKnot · 15/07/2008 19:37

Boco I don;t know.

I think initially you call them whenever you feel anxious, until you feel more confident about the situation.

No Dr will ever mind that you called. That's what they are there for.

Off to yoga. Think I may fall asleep if we do floor work. DS up at 5.45 again. FFS.

filthymindedvixen · 15/07/2008 19:53

Lully, try now...

girlnextdoor · 15/07/2008 19:56

we're here- but what a HORRIBLE title

Guadalupe · 15/07/2008 20:06

What do you mean, we're here?

I read that really slowly, like in Poltergeist.

pinkspottywellies · 15/07/2008 20:18

Moony and littlerach I've added you. Just about to put your new name on Lully.

pinkspottywellies · 15/07/2008 20:20

Guadalupe. I thought you were vehemently anti-facebook and who do I see on TooT's friends list?? Or am I wrong? I always thought you were resisting!

littlerach · 15/07/2008 20:21

FrannyandZooey · 15/07/2008 21:02

ooh I hope that was The Doctor
as in Mr Tennant

I hope this thread is not too rude for people's children to be straying on?

right I have been really good and made myself phone everyone who has been ringing and saying 'any news' and I have been not answering the phone. This afternoon was just a disaster - we had a lovely lunch and then on the way back ds started mithering about this toy which he has wanted for ages and I refuse to buy as I think it is a rip off (have told him he is welcome to save up and buy if he wants)
anyway we ended up having stand up row in street about it, then when we walked in door I burst into tears - he was then very upset also but I was just beyond, well, very much really
rest of afternoon a right off until dp got home
thank god for story tapes and also ds got involved in this very long game sailing his boats in the bath, hallelujah
do other people have these scary moments where they just feel they CANNOT look after their children? it hasn't ended in disaster yet but it feels like one day it might...oh dear
anyway as back drop to all this the phone kept RINGING and RINGING

sorry to hear about dd Boco, I always phone NHS direct whenever I am worried, don't know if you have found them helpful

I am not sure about the definite baby in the arms next week thing, I mean some babies are very late indeed aren't they
unless I am induced, which I haven't committed to yet

IdrisTheDragon · 15/07/2008 21:08

Hello

I have added more people as friends so if anyone else wishes to see me in the buff glowing with the loveliness of pregnancy they can.

pinkspottywellies · 15/07/2008 21:13

Oh Franny, I think everyone has those kind of scary moments. I cried and cried and cried one night last week cause I felt rubbish about poor dd being stuck with me. Come to think of it though I haven't done the 'poor dd, why do I insist on staying at home with her, she'd be much better off in Nursery being looked after by qualified people' panic for a while. But you do an amazing job and to have a blip when you're going through all this overdue, pregnant forever stuff is totally understandable.

Anyway sailing boats and story tapes sounds like a lovely afternoon - well salvaged

littlerach · 15/07/2008 21:15

Wow, all these pregnant pictures.

I don't think w ehave any of me pg, let alone nekkid!!

OsmosisBanana · 15/07/2008 21:19

Oh Buttockles. Festival we had booked for last w/e in August at mega cheapness has been made over18's.

Tittywank.

Ah well, will have to go to Shambala which is double the $$ instead. And DH's ex has always banned us from going as apparently it 'hers'. Like Glasto is and Womad and anything else you care to mention.

So... She has been such a total cowbag recently and having tantrums all over the place / hanging up phone / shouting on the phone with hands free on and SD in car / etc etc, we are going to go anyway and not tell her. Tee hee hee. Oh, that is very childish isn't it? She does deserve it though. Mean lady.

Any improvements with DD Boco?

pinkspottywellies · 15/07/2008 21:23

OB it's you with the red wedding dress and fab necklace isn't it?

OsmosisBanana · 15/07/2008 21:26

Tis.

few years and beers ago though.

filthymindedvixen · 15/07/2008 21:30

OB - come to Solfest in aUGUST

bOCO - hope dd improves - asthma is scary and tbh, I don't think anyone would question you going to out-of-hours gp or whatever if you are worried. I have personally never gained any insight from ringing NHS Direct. They either tell you what you already know or say ''if you're worried, ring out-of-hours gp...''

Franny - your parenting skills are an inspiration mate, this is just pre-birth wobbles.

Given my Decathalon salad earlier, would it be terrible to now eat an entire pack of caramelised cashews?

pinkspottywellies · 15/07/2008 21:35

I've some more photos on my profile. Pg ones but not nearly as fab as you ladies.

I'm having a facebook crisis. Can't decide whether to have my mumsnet friends on fb. It gets a bit complicated trying to remember who everyone is by real name and I only started fb to keep in touch with my rl friends. I will think on it.

I'm off to read The Devil Wears Prada. Night.
