Isn't it funny that we don't have a thread about mooncups in ages...

... then several come along at once.

I was just thinking today that we have not had a good mooncup thread for ages. There must be lots of newbies to convert.

Zazen, I sometimes have trouble getting mine out pain-free, am trying to perfect folding it upa bit before pulling it out. Also a gore-fest in this house as I have heavy periods, but so far i've only been at home/in a household bathroom type place using it. When I return to work it might be a bit more of a problem

Anyone have any tips on avoiding the "i've just slaughtered a small animal" look while emerging from the bathroom stalls?

i really like mine and feel sure it has reduced the length of my periods.

It can be a bit gory on day 2 and 3 I agree but so much better than tampons imo

zazen, I feel the same as you on this. Love the idea but I also have very heavy periods and struggle with not spilling etc and leakage. DH came in once when I was in the middle of extracting and thought I'd been attacked. I thought he was going to pass out ( he's not good with blood ) !

I always think this month I'll use it but always seem to forget about it. Silly really as it would save me a fortune. Any ideas from fellow users why it may hurt when taking it out ?

Mental note to remember for next month !!!

I too have very heavy periods and find that the Mooncup is so much better. Instead of changing tampon/pad every hour on heavy day I change Mooncup every 2-3 hrs. So on days when I am lighter I find that I can put it in in the morning and forget about it until going to bed. It pays for itself in the longrun.
