For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh god I have done this before. A previously generous child suddenly and publicly loses all sense of reason.
And it is ten times worse if you have eaten it because then you have GUILT.

oh I think AP children always save this kind of crap for later, when you think it is not going to happen to you because you have done SUCH a fab job of meeting all their needs

tbh I have not really grown out of having food exactly how I want it myself
I tend not to scream and shout but I should really have more sympathy for this kind of fusspot behaviour

I think she is probably exceptional in this though.
She has been having a shrieky day today. I don't think I like puberty.

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2008 22:23

erm

CLOSING I think
Camberwick Green closing

cause theoretically ds is still contagious so can't ask anyone to look after him (although Kind Friend has said she doesn't care)
plus I may find I have it tomorrow?
bit annoying as I have a theory about eating bread that was for the ducks, down by the rather ripe pond yesterday
but am being noble and Not Exposing Anyone
so have a day of trying to entertain him again tomorrow, without really going anywhere that people might be

You know, when it does happen it will all actually be okay because it is exciting. Ds has had a couple of needy sessions and that is good.
And it probably was the duck bread anyway.

Hmm, but there is something to be said for encouraging children not to be fussy.

Not that it is easy.

FrayedKnot · 02/07/2008 22:27

Ok TooT!

Camberwick Green is closed until Friday.

TooTicky · 02/07/2008 22:27

I think there was a programme that we watched in primary school - music box or something? - didn't that have a nice openy-closey box?

I'm not being prissy about fussiness btw.
I am fussy about certain things (dairy smells, squashy bits on bananas, ketchup ) and really wanted the dcs not to be. Because it is easier, for them and everybody else.
But they all have their foibles...

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2008 22:29

yes i think duck bread and manky pond

music box was beautiful - do you remember the music? lovely
we'll all do that one opening up on Friday
we'll have to be swiftish though as bit short of childcare on Saturday

TooTicky · 02/07/2008 22:30

Yes, with 4 dcs the fussinesses are v. noticeable and finding a meal that everybody actually likes in nigh on impossible.

FrannyandZooey · 02/07/2008 22:30

pssst - maybe I ate the duck bread too

Isn't it funny how stale bread that nobody would dream of eating suddenly becomes appealing when you are out.
We have disappointed many a duck by the canal.
