For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

and someone told dp as well

And it wouldn't count towards your 10/10 either, unless you do it vigorously and count it towards your exercise

2 bananas, apple, carrots, green beans, salad of iceberg, radish, tomato, grapes, parmesan cheese (2 portions)

Pizza for tea with, erm, some tomato (probably not even one portion )

I am feeling better Tatties, thanks, low fat high fibre diet seems to be doing the trick. I have also given up alcohol and fags (I smoke about 10-15 per week, at work only, which is silly because when I'm not at work I'm not bothered and don't crave nicotine at all)

It didn't work

LullyOfShallot · 07/07/2008 15:50

About book list....
does it sound really awful?

I have had 7 mothers ring up & ask what to get ds
Each time I have said Oh nothing,he really doesn't need anything.
Hence much questioning of what he does & doesn't like & in the end I say Oh a book would be lovely.

said Mother's then ring to see if we have this or that book....so,,.. I have put a little list in Waterstones.

Is that crap?

FrayedKnot · 07/07/2008 16:17

I am beginning to think the fact that DS was early is something to be very grateful for

FrayedKnot · 07/07/2008 16:20

Good luck Avi...

I would not have been so brave if its anything like it was here this morning

Strawbs, large salad, avocado (whole one)

filthymindedvixen · 07/07/2008 17:09

Glum. Post-festy blues...
And we are going to see the Levellers next weekend in Cheshire. Tis an all day thing with Seth Lakeman, Dreadzone, Chumbawumba (acoustic) Three Daft Monekys and Nic Harper. And it's going to rain all day, isn't it? Unrelentlessly. It's supposed to be a 'picnic in stately hall grounds. so we;'re not allowed gazebos/sunrainshelters etc.

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 17:30

I don't think a list at Waterstones is terrible - it sounds like a good idea to me.

at seeing The Levellers. I have been listening to the a lot. I saw Dreadzone & Chumbawumba years ago and I think they were quite good too. Will send good weather vibes but I need them here too.

Went to phsyio this morning and was told, "Hmmm, you're very thin, aren't you? And it doesn't help that don't have much muscle tone around your shoulders. Did you know that this shoulder slips out of its socket? But don't worry, your other one probably does it too" and just a little bit

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:06

and at INGESTED

UR, are you okay? Do you feel okay?

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:10

Yes, at Levellers. They are playing v. near here in September. So are UB40. Sigh.
But I would not go somewhere expensive without dcs, would feel wrong.
Will wait for Beautiful Days next year and resign myself to never seeing UB40 play.

Am fervently hoping I can afford to buy tickets for Ragged Hedge Fair before they sell out. Don't know how quickly they sell.

Oh oh oh, a new planet has been discovered.....they are naming it Franny

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 18:11

I'm fine Toot. I cam home and ate a bowl of whipped cream and cake with raspberries. Am feeling slightly picked on over my weight. I have had 'ishoos' with it in the past and am really self-concious when people comment on it.

How is your DS's eye?

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:13

Which actually isn't nasty because if you look pg from space but you are in space then that's okay, isn't it?

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:17

If you're fine and feel well then ignore everybody. Ds2 is very skinny indeed but that is just the way he is. You never saw a livelier boy.
Re his eye, we are waiting for appointment to see child cataract specialist. He can see very little out of it, partly scarring/cataract, partly because his brain has switched it off. Sounds like a lengthy process to get him using it again.

Dd2 keeps farting horribly - hope her tummy isn't going to be poorly again!!

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 18:18

LOL Toot, I was going to say, 'Wow what a coinicidence, naming a planet Franny, how cool is that...' until I realised [gullible]

Shame about UB40 but Beautiful Days will be fab, I'm sure.

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:20

If we can afford it....

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:22

Yes, I am easily gulled too. Not so bad on here though - there is time for light to dawn before I make stupid reply.

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 18:22

Poor DS2.

And poor you with DD2

Does everyone call it farting? DS has an odd word for it (something like lippler which, I think comes from his father calling it a 'rippler' ) but I'd much rather he said fart. Or something else. Hope her tummy is ok.

UnderRated · 07/07/2008 18:23

I am queen of stupid replies, Toot

TooTicky · 07/07/2008 18:27

I grew uip with bottom burps, learned fart in school, and dp says parp which is what we use with the dcs. Sounds a bit nicer. But these are FARTS - sulphurous, smelly, dangerous farts.

Must stop avoiding kitchen responsibilities....

littlerach · 07/07/2008 18:31

TooTicky, where are Levellers playing?

I haven't seen them for years.
And Chubawamba.

I have applied for a job that I currently do as a volunteer, but this time it will be paid.
Soemone else who I knwo has also applied and has said she might withdraw her application as I have applied, as she feels I will get it.
I think I feel bad by that.
And worried that I'll look bad for applying.

Hmm.

Dd1 has a new friend coming for tea tomorrow. She is a lovely girl, and I'm hoping she and Dd1 will get on well.

Veg and couscous.
Cherries
Apple
Fritatta with peppers, courgettes and tomaotes
Nectarine.

Not bad.

FrayedKnot · 07/07/2008 18:47

Surely it's up to her though LittleRach? Don;t feel bad. If it would be better that you be paid for the work then I should go for it.

I am that kind of restless bored that comes with bad weather, the monotony of life, tiredness, and possibly hormones.

I need somebody to do something interesting like have a baby
